Teaching Apprentices
Inside the Cuilan Academy, in an open space that was recently acquired, a brand new sign erected on the ground reads [Forge School Resident].
This is where Elan used the privileges of the dean and used this place as Forge School's temporary residence.
There are now only two lonely buildings here, one is a place for newly recruited apprentices to stay, and the other is a place for apprentices to practice spells.
In an empty room, two Forge School apprentices were practicing spells.
Kahn faced a special wall and released the spell [Steam Jet].
He is very skillful, he just lifts his hand, puts the released node on a finger, and compresses the path of these vapors into a small path.
A rapid roar sounded in his ears, and white steam spurted from his fingers and shot straight into the wall.
A large depression appeared on the hard wall. Kahn compared it with the depression and was very satisfied.
But at the same time, he also felt uneasy in his heart. Although the power of this spell was pretty good, this spell alone could not get him a place in the assessment.
Although Forge School currently has a small number of spells, its actual strength is still a bit higher than that of Transmutation School because of this remote [Steam Jet] spell.
After all, Transmutation School's spells are all just improvised, and what he's really good at is transformation.
But it is only a little stronger than Transmutation School, and still not as good as other School.
Elemental School can surpass it in power simply by setting off a fireball, and other School will also have their own powerful spells.
"No, I have to buy some basic spells."
Kahn knows that this spell alone is not enough to win the exam. You must practice basic spells.
Then he turned to look at Ocien, his best friend. Because of his help, he could join Forge School.
Ocien is manipulating parts on a table, and three or four crossbows are scattered on the table.
He walked over and asked:
"How's your setup doing?"
And Ocien raised his head and replied:
"With [Energy Conversion], the crossbow can be loaded automatically. It just needs to be put in. I am making an arrow trough now."
Kahn looked at the crossbow on the table and asked:
"Can these be brought into the assessment?"
Due to the special characteristics of some School, for the sake of balance, the managers of City of Apprentices will limit the number of props that each School can bring.
For example, Transmutation School, if you lead a squad of twelve fully armed cyborgs, who can beat it?!
I, Necromancy School, can also awaken a dozen evil spirits, plus dozens of skeletons, to fight with you in groups, Mental Power is all used to maintain a huge army.
If you play these School like this, you won't need to play other School, so you have to limit the equipment you bring into the assessment.
There is nothing wrong with bringing a crossbow. In the apprenticeship stage, not everyone has extra Magic Power to release the stronger Mage Shield.
What's more, I released a fireball, and I took out the crossbow and shot it, which happened to break your Mage Shield and cause damage to you.
But if I bring four crossbows in, instead of being a wizard, is it okay to use all weapons as output?
"It's okay. I asked instructor Elan, and he said that as long as your equipment is powered by spells, they will only stop you if you don't have spells."
For the organizers of the assessment, it only makes sense to let the apprentices determine their rankings by releasing spells.
The previous restrictions Transmutation School and Necromancy School are for balance, and the later restrictions on the remote equipment brought in are for the purpose of not wasting rankings.
If you go in and grab a few crossbows to shoot, and you encounter strong ones and are eliminated, but if you eliminate those with weak points, your ranking will be in vain, because you haven't used any spells and you can't pass the test at all.
But for equipment like theirs that is driven by spells, it seems to be a different matter, as long as you actually use spells to release it.
Kahn looked at his friend constantly operating these parts, and he felt admiration in his heart.
He can do these things, but he has no idea that he can do this, and Ocien often has some weird ideas.
The self-winding crossbow was thought up by Ocien himself. He thought that through the gears and guide rails, as long as [Energy Release] is released, it can be automatically wound.
"When the time comes, each of us will have three or four on our bodies, so we won't be afraid..."
At this moment, the door was knocked and a voice came from outside.
"Elan instructor asked us to gather."
"We got it."
Kahn immediately responded and asked the apprentice outside to leave. He and Ocien began to tidy up the things in the room a little.
When Kahn and Ocien arrived at the gathering place, they saw two people wearing robes with the Forge Hammer logo the moment they entered.
"Two Formal Mage." Kahn whispered to Ocien.
He could see that one of them was mentor Elan who often dealt with them, but who was the other one?
They also met School's Chief Harbos tutor, who only taught them some rare materials in a superficial way.
As for who this new female mentor is, I have never seen it before.
"Do you know who that is?"
"I don't know, maybe it's the apprentice who was accepted by mentor Harbos. I heard that she is just one step away from Formal Mage? Maybe she was promoted."
"Are you kidding me? I remember that apprentice hasn't gotten a rank yet. How can he be promoted without a rank? I think he was transferred from another School."
Several apprentices who were also Forge School were whispering to the side, discussing who this new instructor was.
Seeing that the last two people had arrived, Elan coughed and then said:
"Everyone is here, we can start."
All the apprentices immediately fell silent and all looked at Fran.
And Fran walked to the material that was specially placed aside and said:
"I am the newly promoted Formal Mage Fran, and I also belong to Forge School. Today I will teach you how to make a powerful weapon."
With that said, Fran used Telekinetic Hand to pick up a piece of fine iron and ignited it directly in the air.
After hearing Fran's words, all the apprentices also concentrated their attention. None of the courses they have been exposed to at City of Apprentices so far has been useless. The content taught by the instructor Harbos who came last time benefited them a lot, and they realized that there is so much emphasis on making things.
And now another instructor has come to give a lecture. He is going to teach them how to make a powerful weapon. It seems that he will also demonstrate how to make it on the spot. How can this not be exciting?
Ocien in the crowd saw the iron ingot turning red instantly in the air, with signs of turning into liquid, and said doubtfully:
"Why can she heat up so fast?"
"It's all Formal Mage. It's normal for the flames to be stronger!" Kahn watched Fran's spellcasting, unable to take his eyes away.
And Fran shaped it into a long tube shape, then hollowed out the middle, and prepared to start carving rifling inside.
