"Hey, Elan, you used to be an Adventurer, did you ever hunt any powerful Magic Creature?"
Finley's soldier Stefan asked Fran, blinking his curious eyes and staring intently at Fran.
If nothing unexpected happens, this Stefan is the one who fought alongside Fran as Finley's squire in the Upper Knight's Duel.
Fran thought for a moment, realizing she couldn't just say she'd instantly killed an Earth Dragon. She thought of the Adventurer party she'd once argued with, and said with a smile:
"Speaking of powerful Magic Creature, the only one I can think of is the Earth Dragon I recently hunted down with an Adventurer's party."
"That kind of Magic Creature is so powerful that even three knights working together might not be able to defeat it."
Fran deliberately used an exaggerated technique to describe the Earth Dragon's power.
In reality, although Earth Dragon are very powerful, they are not as skilled at using tools as humans.
If the three knights knew how to deal with the Earth Dragon and its attacks, then the Earth Dragon would probably have no choice but to run away.
Of course, if the three knights were to encounter the Earth Dragon Earth Dragon for the first time, they would probably be badly beaten.
"So powerful, is this the kind of Magic Creature whose name contains the word 'dragon'?"
"I'm surprised," Stefan said, while urging Fran to continue.
"I joined this team temporarily. This team had already fought the Earth Dragon before, so they had a lot of experience."
"At the same time, they also purchased a powerful spell scroll, which required three people just to transport..."
"At the start of the battle, they provoked the Earth Dragon, angering it and luring it into the trap we had set."
"Then we used a scroll directly. It was such a big scroll, and it took us a full seven seconds just to unroll it."
"When it was used, the entire scroll emitted a bright light, and then countless vines appeared beneath the Earth Dragon, firmly locking it in Earth Dragon."
"After blocking the Earth Dragon's escape route, we tried every possible means, including tapping its scales with a pickaxe, bleeding its exposed skin, and releasing a special substance into its head..."
Using her imagination and some references, Fran vividly described her participation in the battle against the Earth Dragon.
This drew praise from the soldiers present, who at the same time wished they were the protagonists of the story and could participate in the extermination of such Magic Creature.
Finley listened attentively from the other side, nodding as Fran recounted her story, and his last remaining concerns about Fran dissipated.
As a true knight, he knew exactly what those so-called Magic Creature and Adventurer ' jobs were like.
Fran's description perfectly matched his impression and was very detailed. True Adventurer would try to use everything they could to attack Magic Creature, including but not limited to poisoning food, disguising themselves as cubs to reach vulnerable parts of the body, and polluting water sources.
In comparison, the fact that Fran mentioned that the team specifically bought a First Order spell to restrain the Earth Dragon shows a degree of environmental awareness.
Furthermore, Finley knew what a real First Order spell scroll looked like—it was extremely large and inconvenient to carry.
"It seems he really is an Adventurer," Finley thought to himself.
"And then, did you not use the Earth Dragon's materials to make any weapons?"
Stefan asked curiously, having heard since childhood that Adventurer would use materials from the Magic Creature they hunted to make equipment that was even harder than steel.
Fran paused for a moment, then began to complain in a serious tone:
"Hey, this is my misfortune, I didn't get a single Earth Dragon material."
"Although I didn't make a huge contribution to the team, I did manage to obtain a piece of Earth Dragon bone, enough to forge a weapon."
"But the problem is that the hunting quest we accepted was specifically issued by a mage. She needs materials from Earth Dragon, and she has to specify everything."
"So I only got a little money, not even a single scale from the Earth Dragon... That damned mage, I was actually thinking of keeping that as Spoils of War."
Fran's appearance resonated with the soldiers present, who all echoed her sentiments:
"Those sorcerers are scoundrels; all they know is how to use the money they create to trick others into risking their lives."
"That's right, that's right. I heard that not long ago, a mage broke into our camp in a certain town, killed more than a dozen people, and then ran away..."
"Those mages do nothing but collect corpses all day long. They don't look like good people. Last year, I even saw a mage eating flesh from a corpse. It disgusted me."
Fran fully immersed herself in her role, joining the soldiers in hurling insults at the mages.
Mages have never had a good reputation in the Antir Region. Unlike Knight Master, whose reputations are such that if someone insults them, Knight Master will actually kill that person.
The mages would come to the Antir Region from time to time, and the mages would come in different groups each time. Their jobs here were either to collect corpses or to use magic to assist in the siege...
Without anyone defending the monk, his reputation is really not good.
Even Finley came over and grumbled a few words of dissatisfaction at the mage.
He also knew that the mages had been unhappy for a long time. These mages often received excellent treatment from their superiors and could live in noble castles, while the knights could only live miserably in tents.
In addition, a mage will be present to oversee the Knight's Duel and check whether their preparations comply with regulations.
This made Finley even more dissatisfied; he was practically ready to tell everyone that those mages knew absolutely nothing about Knight's Duel.
Can those mages detect whose armor is substandard? Can they detect who brought in a small spell scroll from a hidden location?
Finley was unaware of just how lenient the scope of this violation was; everything he had mentioned above was utterly insignificant.
This wasn't his fault, because he had never participated in Knight's Duel under Duke Theodore before, and he hadn't expected that so many things could be brought into the Knight's Duel here.
Just then, a soldier rushed into Finley's temporary residence and knocked on the door.
"Lord Finley, the list of groups for the Knight's Duel has been released. Please take a look."
After Finley carefully read the contents above, he complained somewhat dejectedly:
"How come I'm grouped with Eric and Cliff? They're really close, they might eliminate us first... I need to find another knight to team up with."
Fran, upon hearing the name ' Eric,' revealed a radiant smile hidden beneath her black robes.
