Don't Believe It
After the scene fell silent, no one made a move; they were at a loss as to what to do with Fran.
Benedict knew that his original idea of capturing the mage regardless of his obstruction had failed.
This is all because the battle was too terrifying. If Fran's combat strength was just that of an ordinary First Order Profession, it would be fine, but Fran just happened to display such strong combat strength.
It would be better if Fran could only fight those First Order Church Warrior to a standstill, because that would mean Fran didn't have the ability to stop them.
In this situation, as long as he commands the attack, everyone will swarm in and quickly take down the castle.
He originally thought that a few Church Warrior should be enough to deal with this mage.
He had seen these mages cast spells before. Without a clear advantage in terrain, they were at most slightly stronger than First Order Profession, but far from the difference between a lord and First Order Profession.
So when these Church Warrior walked in, he had already sentenced the Snow Bear Territory lord to death in his heart. No matter how he looked at it, this mage couldn't stop these Church Warrior.
But what happened next made him hesitate; such powerful magic...
Moreover, not only was the spell powerful, but even Bishop Gillian, a Second Order Profession User, was unable to save these Church Warrior.
This is truly shocking. Although a normal Tier 2 might be overwhelmed by dozens of First Order Profession, or even killed by a well-trained squad of less than ten people.
The difference between First Order and Tier 2 isn't that significant, but the fact that Fran was able to defeat Gillian in a one-on-one fight against Second Order Profession User is truly mind-blowing.
Benedict looked at Gillian, whose expression was uncertain, and he couldn't tell what she was thinking.
Benedict was now very anxious because he knew that if Gillian suddenly backed down at this moment, the matter might end there.
This is not good news for the orcs. They urgently need to unite everyone and find that thing before more people from the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents arrive, and then decide the outcome directly with a war that the orcs fear least.
Just as he frowned, pondering what to do, a hand patted his shoulder.
The weight and size of the hand were familiar to him; he recognized it. It belonged to Stanley, the chieftain of the Orc Tribe, a second-tier Profession.
He paused for a moment, realizing what his chieftain meant by suddenly stopping him at this point—he wanted him to go and deal with Fran, paving the way for his decision.
He wanted to persuade him, but didn't know how to begin. He knew why his chieftain had come to the city in disguise: to intervene at a crucial moment and gain the upper hand.
Now is the time for his chief to take action. Even if he hadn't thought of asking the chief to do so just now, the idea would come to him after a while.
Given the situation, he had no choice but to offer two pieces of advice:
"Be very careful. The fact that the mage dared to block our way here means she must have made preparations. She might even have a way to deal with a second-tier mage."
"Also, we must not kill that mage, otherwise even if we do get that item, the tribe will be doomed..."
Those Mercenary who had no one to rely on could kill Fran because everyone knew that these Mercenary were nomadic and only cared about themselves.
However, this doesn't apply to the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents and the Orcs. Their organizations are right here, and we really can't do something like that to escalate the conflict.
"Don't worry, I don't believe any First Order mage could defeat a second-tier Profession under these circumstances. I'll just break both her legs as a return gift..."
Benedict breathed a sigh of relief, having received assurances from his chief that Fran would at least not lose her life today. However, he also knew why his chief had emphasized the latter part of the sentence.
It was because their chieftain was so resentful about the mages killing so many orcs, and it was only because he kept trying to dissuade them, that a bad outcome was avoided.
Stanley strode forward, making no attempt to conceal his thoughts. His aura suddenly surged, causing those around him to change their expressions.
He removed the covering from his hands, revealing his muscular arm covered in hair.
Fran took a look and, judging from his aura and gait, knew he was a Second Order Profession User.
She looked at the other person's arms; they were very thick, almost wider than her two thighs combined.
However, in this world, one cannot judge a person's strength by appearance alone. If Fran hadn't told anyone, who would know that her strength was far greater than that of many three-meter-tall giant bears?
From the side, just the height and build of the two made it seem like Fran had no chance of winning, not to mention Stanley was also exuding the aura of a second-tier expert.
This caused Lord Blake above to close his eyes and collapse to the ground, knowing that Fran had no chance of defeating her in this match.
The gap between Order cannot be so easily bridged. In the past, when a rank-crossing incident occurred, it was always because the Order person was seriously injured, or the Order person possessed some powerful weapon.
However, such situations are not so easy to come by. Under normal circumstances, no one would consider that a Order person could defeat a Order person; the probability of a miracle happening is too slim.
Stanley stopped just outside the boundary and said in a cold and arrogant tone:
"Little mage, if you take back what you just said, I can spare your legs and let you leave safely without suffering any physical pain."
Fran glanced at Stanley and coldly uttered a single sentence.
"If I were you, I wouldn't want to step into a place that a mage has prepared; it would overturn some of your beliefs."
She glanced at Stanley, but didn't move an inch, as if Stanley were nothing more than something she could easily wipe away.
Stanley simply smiled coldly:
"Looks like I'll have to break both your arms too."
"Perhaps what you said makes sense, but I don't believe it!"
Stanley took a firm step, without even making any defensive stance, and stepped towards the boundary line.
Fran, however, reacted swiftly, a strange red light emanating from beneath her robes, while at the same time, a magical fluctuation appeared around Stanley.
"First Order spells don't have much effect on me, little mage," Stanley said confidently. He knew that while First Order spells would cause him damage, the damage would be limited.
Therefore, he neither dodged nor avoided the situation, precisely to explain this 'principle' to the monk before him.
However, this time he was wrong.
