An Eye-Opening Experience
When Fran and Nora reached the low buildings, Fran could see a stone tablet in front of them.
"The Emerald Market," Fran read aloud.
Nora, standing to the side, explained:
"This is the name of this market; it's one of the largest low-level markets in the entire Spirit Realm."
"Oh, right, I also need to get you a guide."
Nora seemed to have thought of something. She walked behind the stone tablet, to the stall closest to it, and took out some broken Spirit Crystal, exchanging them for a purple sphere.
Nora came back, handed the sphere to Fran, and said:
"This is the Spirit Realm Guide to the Emerald Market. As long as you recite the incantation I gave you during the market's opening hours and have Spirit Crystal on you, you can enter the market."
"Also, if you run out of Spirit Crystal later, you can come to me for an entrance fee. Remember to save enough Spirit Crystal for that fee, otherwise finding Spirit Crystal in the Material Realm will be quite troublesome."
"We are all First Order Profession, unlike those who haven't reached Formal Rank who can freely travel to various Spirit Realm realms."
"The Spirit Realm isn't very welcoming to non- Spirit Realm Profession like us; they almost never let us go to any area other than the market."
That's why Nora told Fran to leave the ticket money; otherwise, they wouldn't be able to enter special areas and earn Spirit Crystal like the apprentices.
They can only obtain Spirit Crystal from the Spirit Realm Profession or in markets; there's no other way, and in this process, they inevitably have to pay a price difference.
There's nothing we can do about it; this is the Spirit Realm, a place that connects to the entire continent.
Fran nodded, indicating that she had remembered.
Nora turned and led Fran into the crowd, saying as they walked:
"Here, you don't have to worry about being robbed. Everything here has to go through a special ritual before a transaction can take place."
"But you have to be careful during the transaction ceremony, as they might use some tricks to prevent you from getting what you want."
"By the way, you don't need to pay attention to those Spirit Realm Profession. Although they are blessed by the Spirit Realm here and your attacks are ineffective against them, even if they kill you, nothing will happen to you in the Material Realm."
"Just wait ten minutes, and you can continue to ascend to the Spirit Realm. You will then appear at another login point."
"So, can the Profession from the Spirit Realm ignore their defenses?" Fran suddenly asked.
"Yes."
At that moment, Nora glanced at the stall next to her, which was covered with red and purple vines and had several bottles of thick, dark liquid on it.
"We're really unlucky; we didn't get to the Magic Creature material area. This is the area for herbs and potions."
"In the Emerald Market, each area can only sell specific items. Only the central area can disregard the category of the items, but only high-end items can be sold there."
As she spoke, Nora glanced at the road sign on the building. There were some abbreviations that Fran couldn't understand, but Fran could still see a wolf head symbol on it, which indicated that the direction should be their destination—the area where Magic Creature materials were sold.
Nora led Fran for three minutes before realizing from the changes in the buildings that they had moved to a different area; they had arrived at the area selling Magic Creature materials.
Fran's view of the objects changed from all sorts of strange herbs to many Magic Creature materials hanging on the stall.
To be honest, the Magic Creature materials look much better than those herbs.
Fran possessed extraordinary Pharmacy knowledge, so the herbs held little mystery for her; she knew exactly what they were, which made them rather uninteresting.
However, once she reached the Magic Creature area, she encountered a whole bunch of things she had never seen before, which piqued her interest.
Another reason was her Monster Hunter Profession; it seemed as if the Profession was calling her to take care of the living fox monster nearby.
That was her intuition about some rare magical beasts; the medals in her mind seemed to be telling her that 'dealing with these rare magical beasts' would be of great benefit.
Fran shook her head, ignoring the fleeting thought in her mind, and resolutely followed behind Nora.
She tried her best not to look at the living Magic Creature anymore; it was too terrifying. She was afraid that she would rush up and kill Magic Creature at any moment.
Magic Creature are allowed to be brought into the Spirit Realm from the market, but they must be restrained beforehand, otherwise the market will immediately kick Magic Creature out.
In this situation, Magic Creature would naturally receive the same treatment. Killing these Magic Creature here would be completely pointless, as they would still be alive and kicking in the Material Realm.
Therefore, it would be useless for Fran to go forward and kill these Magic Creature unless Magic Creature were transformed into the Spirit Realm beings through a special process, in which case she could obtain the medal.
As for rare Magic Creature, that was another category that appeared on the medal wall after Fran killed the baby dragon of the Deep Sea Golden Dragon.
Fran could sense that the Deep Sea Golden Dragon Medal wouldn't provide her with any attribute bonuses, but this rare Magic Creature's medal had another wonderful use.
The inscription beneath that Deep Sea Golden Dragon medal reads as follows.
Hunt down rare Magic Creature to advance your Order. The next advancement will come after five medals.
So it turns out that the purpose of this rare Magic Creature is to increase its Order; I hadn't thought it was of any use before.
Even knowing this, Fran still had no clue how to hunt those rare Magic Creature. She was currently in the Northern Territory, a place known for its scarcity of creatures, so where would she find so many rare Magic Creature?
Even if she took a liking to these rare Magic Creature for sale at the market in the Spirit Realm, she was powerless to do so. She was so poor that she didn't even have the money for the next market ticket, let alone the Spirit Crystal to buy these Magic Creature.
She could only watch as the numerous and complex Magic Creature materials were displayed on the stall, helplessly rummaging through her pockets, unable to find a single fragment of a Spirit Crystal.
"We've arrived. This is where you post requests. If you need any Magic Creature materials, you can submit your requests here."
Fran looked up and saw a completely white house that was noticeably taller than the surrounding buildings; its exterior alone made it stand out from the rest of the complex.
Moreover, when Fran shifted her gaze to the top of the building to examine the Nameplate, her pupils constricted slightly.
"The Adventurers Guild?!"
Fran could hardly believe her eyes; how could she still see the Adventurers Guild in the Spirit Realm?
Seemingly noticing Fran's confusion, Nora explained from the side:
"It's the Adventurers Guild! Isn't the Adventurers Guild the largest organization on the continent for processing Magic Creature materials? How could they possibly let go of the Spirit Realm market?"
After a moment's thought, Fran gradually understood. It would be normal for her to see the Adventurers Guild in the Spirit Realm; it would be strange if she couldn't.
As the Spirit Realm is an area accessible from all parts of the continent, its population and demand must far exceed those of major cities on the continent, so it would be strange not to establish a branch here.
Furthermore, a large portion of the Adventurer in the Adventurers Guild actually advanced through the Spirit Realm, and there's no reason for these Adventurer advanced from the Spirit Realm Spirit Realm not to sell Magic Creature materials there.
Therefore, it is perfectly normal to see the Adventurers Guild logo at the Spirit Realm Market.
Fran looked at the Adventurers Guild's Nameplate, below which was the Association's gate, and she could see that someone passed through the gate almost every three seconds.
It's easy to imagine that the Adventurers Guild in the Spirit Realm must be doing very well.
However, Fran showed no intention of going in at all, because she didn't have a single Spirit Crystal on her.
She had received that small bag of Spirit Crystal when she first went to the Spirit Realm, and she had kept it in her house, never taking it out with her.
Even if she brought it out, Fran didn't think that little bit of Spirit Crystal could do anything.
She personally witnessed someone exchanging a large piece of Spirit Crystal for a Magic Creature material worth about five Gold Coin in the Material Realm at a stall.
Based on this ratio, her fragments of Spirit Crystal might not even amount to a single Gold Coin in the Material Realm.
"We need to earn Spirit Crystal first," Fran sighed, then said to Nora.
"Thank you for bringing me here. I need to find a place to sell some things."
Nora nodded in response:
"Alright, goodbye then. I hope you find what you're looking for soon."
After saying goodbye to Nora, Fran headed towards the road sign marked with icons of a longsword and armor. She figured that making a weapon would be a much faster way to earn Spirit Crystal.
Although she could return to the Material Realm now, buy some rare materials from the Northern Lands Society, and then make a longsword that everyone on the continent would use, she was guaranteed to be able to exchange it for some Spirit Crystal.
But Fran still wanted to see what the weapons in the Spirit Realm actually looked like; she wanted to do some market research first.
Among those who purchase weapons in the Spirit Realm, there are many Spirit Realm Profession. After all, many Material Realm Profession have a strange feeling that the equipment crafted in the Material Realm is actually much better than the equipment bought in the Spirit Realm.
But in reality, there is no difference between the two. Although the Spirit Realm also has its own methods for producing weapons, Fran can tell that most of the weapons sold here were brought up from the Material Realm after special processing.
From the techniques and materials described above, Fran could see that these weapons were actually crafted from the Material Realm.
The weapons exclusive to the Spirit Realm are quite special; this is the first time Fran has ever seen weapons in another world that look like those from those low-quality online games.
Just as Fran was marveling at these weapons from the Spirit Realm, a voice called out to her from behind.
"Proxy?" The voice carried uncertainty, doubt, and a hint of anticipation.
Fran turned around and saw someone she recognized— Una, whom she had crossed paths with during the Spirit Realm Promotion Trial.
