"Name?"
"Philly Felistin."
The staff member taking notes nearly jerked his pen across the page. He looked up in disbelief and asked:
"You're a member of the Felistin Family? How can that be?"
Fran frowned. This staff member clearly didn't know Philly.
He was probably a member of the Felistin Family from Number Three Floating City. It was only natural for family members to be surprised when one of their own made a name for herself elsewhere.
But not this disbelieving. He looked as though what he'd heard contradicted everything he knew.
Did Felistin Family members have to report every achievement to the family?
That was the only explanation Fran could think of. She paused, then said:
"My surname is Felistin, but that doesn't mean I'm a member of the Felistin Family. Please continue the registration."
Fran chose to be blunt. She was posing as Philly, and under the rules, no outside force could revoke her place in the Main Tournament.
But if these family members discovered during their dealings with her that she was an impostor, that would be different. She would lose her place.
This wasn't Number Nine Floating City. With the stricter enforcement of regulations Fran had specifically requested, this Felistin staff member should only be able to tell the family's senior members stationed here.
Those senior members were unlikely to know a talented child from a branch family. There were too many of them. Besides, Philly had only shown talent early on and joined the Yobner Society.
So Fran simply acted as though she had broken away from the family after a falling-out.
The staff member looked troubled. His pen stopped moving. He wanted to check Fran's expression but didn't dare raise his head.
Only after several seconds did he say awkwardly:
"I'm sorry, sister, but
