Why would the enemy split into two to deal with Kamizuki? Is it because he is the protagonist?
NO! No! It is because the enemy wanted to take out this pair of Byakugan first. Initially, they had intended to use the thick fog to launch an assassination, but they hadn't expected the opponent to have a ninja with Byakugan, rendering the assassination in the fog completely useless.
In truth, these unidentified enemies knew a thing or two about the Hyuga Clan. They knew the best way to deal with a Hyuga was through long-range attacks, but due to the limited space on the ship, such tactics were impossible to implement.
Thus, they split into two to attack Kamizuki, hoping to eliminate this troublesome Byakugan as quickly as possible, which would be more advantageous for their offensive.
Both figures flashed forward, arriving not far from Kamizuki. As soon as they steadied their footing, they launched a wave of swift and powerful taijutsu attacks on Kamizuki from both left and right.
Under the insight of the Byakugan, Kamizuki parried every move of this rapid and forceful taijutsu assault from the two enemies.
The most troublesome thing about dealing with the Hyuga Clan is their hawk-like insight and that "Absolute Defense" which is as annoying as a turtle shell. During close-quarters combat, one must also guard against their Gentle Fist, which can sever the flow of chakra.
Therefore, even though there were two enemies, Kamizuki was faintly gaining the upper hand. Through these two probes, Kamizuki discovered that the strength of these two enemies was only at the peak of the Chunin level.
Without much effort, Kamizuki used Gentle Fist to seal the chakra meridians of both enemies.
After completely neutralizing the two enemies, Kamizuki looked toward the battlefield and saw that Kato Taichi and Sakura Mangetsu were struggling against their respective opponents.
The strength of Kato Taichi and Sakura Mangetsu had only just reached the mid-Chunin level. Coupled with the fact that Sakura Mangetsu was suffering from seasickness, she appeared very strained while facing the enemy before her.
Just as Sakura Mangetsu was about to be overwhelmed, Kamizuki used the Body Flicker Technique to appear behind the enemy who was fiercely engaging her.
That enemy, seeing that he was about to defeat the little girl before him, did not notice Kamizuki suddenly appearing behind him.
By the time he realized it, heh... it was already too late. Kamizuki unleashed a "Eight Trigrams: Twenty-Four Palms," sealing all twenty-four meridians on the enemy's body. Instantly, the enemy lost control of his own body and collapsed limply onto the deck.
Just as Kamizuki helped Mangetsu defeat her enemy, Taichi, who had been fighting nearby, also killed his own opponent at the same time.
Looking at these enemies, Kamizuki thought to himself: As expected, this is a trope! Every enemy that appears for the first time in a story is nothing more than cannon fodder.
Just as this thought crossed his mind, Kamizuki's entire body jolted. He felt as if he had forgotten something. He suddenly remembered the enemies he had observed with his Byakugan at the very beginning—there were more than just these four enemies lurking under the ship; there was still one enemy who hadn't made a move yet!
Moreover, according to Kamizuki's earlier Byakugan scan, that person's chakra volume far exceeded these four pieces of cannon fodder by a wide margin. Kamizuki estimated that even if the person didn't have Kage-level strength, they were at least at the peak of the Jonin level.
These thoughts occurred in a split second. Kamizuki turned his head back toward the direction where the mysterious figure had been standing, but there was no longer a trace of anyone there.
Just as Kamizuki was searching for the mysterious figure, a loud explosion suddenly erupted from the direction of the Feudal Lord of the Land of Waves' cabin.
Seeing this, Kamizuki knew it was bad; the mysterious figure must have gone to attack the Feudal Lord. He looked at Taichi and Mangetsu, who were sitting on the ground, exhausted.
Shaking his head slightly, Kamizuki said to the two on the ground: "You two handle these enemies first; I'll go check on the situation with the Feudal Lord."
Upon hearing this, Taichi and Mangetsu felt a bit embarrassed, feeling that compared to Kamizuki, they were truly dragging him down.
Taichi scratched his head and shouted toward Kamizuki's departing figure: "Right! Okay, we'll clean up here and then head over."
Kamizuki hurried to the door of the cabin where the Feudal Lord of the Land of Waves was staying. He saw streaks of lightning, as thick as electrical wires, occasionally shooting out from inside the cabin.
In his Byakugan state, Kamizuki looked through the cabin walls. He saw that the furnishings inside were already in complete disarray. On the floor of the cabin lay four or five corpses, with faint traces of chakra still flowing through them—they must have died only moments ago!
There were two living people in the cabin, still harming each other... (Uh! Not harming, they were in a fierce battle, though that doesn't sound quite right either... anyway, you get the point.)
There was also a chubby figure hiding under the bed, shivering.
Seeing this shivering figure under the bed, Kamizuki finally felt relieved. From this wretched figure, he knew that someone with such a build must be the Feudal Lord of the Land of Waves they were tasked to protect.
Kamizuki certainly wasn't worried about the safety of the Feudal Lord of the Land of Waves; he was only worried about whether their mission had failed. Fortunately, the Feudal Lord hadn't "received his lunch box" yet, so their mission could continue.
Thinking of this, Kamizuki looked at the two figures engaged in battle. Judging by their builds, the taller figure should be their team leader, Genma Shiranui.
As for the small figure, who looked to be only 1.4 to 1.5 meters tall, their build was very similar to the mysterious person Kamizuki had seen earlier. Kamizuki was 95% certain that this was the mysterious person he had been looking for.
Just as Kamizuki was about to go in to help, he saw a figure get kicked violently out of the cabin.
That figure slammed into the railing before coming to a stop. Only then did Kamizuki clearly see that the figure was none other than Genma Shiranui.
Kamizuki flashed to Genma's side, intending to ask about his injuries.
The mysterious person also chased out from the cabin. Sensing someone attacking from the cabin, Kamizuki reacted instantly, grabbing a kunai to meet the incoming strike.
Just as Kamizuki's kunai was about to make contact with the mysterious person's twin blades, sparks of lightning surged from the weapons.
Seeing the lightning, Kamizuki withdrew his kunai in time and flashed back to Genma's side.
After retreating to Genma's side, Kamizuki looked up at the mysterious person and realized, to his surprise, that this mysterious individual was actually a girl.
The girl had long, brownish-red hair styled in a strange way. Her eyes lacked the whites of a living person, possessing only pitch-black sclera with dull, grey irises. On her forehead, she wore a Kirigakure forehead protector, and in her hands, she held two blades crackling with lightning.
Seeing the girl's attire, the words "Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist" flashed through Kamizuki's mind.
Observing the girl more closely, Kamizuki confirmed that this person was one of the "Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist" from Kirigakure, the wielder of the Lightning Blade: Kiba. Uh... Kamizuki couldn't recall her specific name for a moment.
What Kamizuki found strange, however, was that the wielder of the Lightning Blade: Kiba shouldn't have died of illness long ago? Why would she appear here? Could it be... could it be that someone had used "Impure World Reincarnation" on her?
At this point, let me, the author, briefly introduce these "Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist" from Kirigakure to everyone!
The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, or "Seven Swordsmen of the Mist," is a hereditary title rather than a concrete organization. These seven individuals are each equipped with a ninja sword that suits them perfectly.
The woman from the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist who has appeared before Kamizuki is named 'Ringo Ameyuri', and her ninja sword is called "Lightning Blade: Kiba," which is also known as "Raiga Kurosuki."
In the original work, Ringo Ameyuri was known by the people of Kirigakure as a "Lightning Release genius ninja." Unfortunately, shortly after obtaining the Lightning Blade: Kiba, she passed away at a young age due to a serious illness.
Back to the topic, Kamizuki was quite astonished to see this legendary member of the "Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist." Kamizuki remembered that in the original Naruto series, Ringo Ameyuri was summoned by Yakushi Kabuto using Impure World Reincarnation during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Upon her appearance, she faced the Allied Shinobi Forces, defeating many of them single-handedly, and was only eventually defeated by Omoi through a clever trap.
Thinking of this, Kamizuki felt a bit excited, as this Ringo Ameyuri was the first truly powerful enemy he had encountered. Since she was a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist who could take on a large number of Allied Shinobi Forces by herself, one could imagine just how formidable her combat strength must be.
