Hiashi told them to come to the training ground at their house that afternoon. He had a special birthday gift for them.
As soon as Kamizuki heard Hiashi say that, he guessed what the special gift would be: teaching him and Hinata how to mold chakra.

Little Hinata beside him was probably just too innocent and naive to see through it. She gazed at Hiashi with eager anticipation.
Hiashi paused briefly to look at their expressions, then continued, "This special gift is a lesson in how to mold chakra, along with the basics of Gentle Fist."
Kamizuki wore an expression that said he knew it. Hinata, however, looked a little disappointed, her face falling as if some creepy old man had tricked her out of her favorite lollipop.
Hiashi didn't bother with their reactions and continued, "First, I'll explain what chakra is."
"Chakra is a type of energy produced when the body controls and perfectly combines its various components. It is the energy source used to perform ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, or to create threads for binding opponents or cutting through materials made of chakra."
"It is composed of:
"1. Physical energy drawn from each of the 130 trillion cells in the human body.
"2. Spiritual energy developed through experience and accumulated by training over time."
"After molding chakra, you can use a jutsu by forming Hand Seals."
Hiashi paused for a moment. The children were still very young, so he gave them some time to slowly take in what he had told them.
Then he continued his explanation:
"Chakra has two basic types of transformation: shape transformation and nature transformation."
"Characteristics: Chakra generally has five elemental nature transformations: fire, water, wind, lightning, and earth."
"There are also two special nature transformations: Yin and Yang."
"Examples of Yin Release Chakra include the Nara Clan's Shadow Binding Technique and the Yamanaka Clan's mind techniques."
"Examples of Yang Release Chakra include the Akimichi Clan's Multi-Size Technique and Medical Ninjutsu."
"The five elemental natures each counter another: fire counters wind, wind counters lightning, lightning counters earth, earth counters water, and water counters fire."
After finishing that explanation, Hiashi told the children to take a break. He also had a servant make him a cup of tea, which he drank while resting.
After they had rested for about ten minutes, Hiashi called the two children back. They had been laughing and playing, but now he continued their lesson.
Once they were back in their places and kneeling again, they settled down from their play. Hiashi continued, "Next, I'll teach you how to mold chakra."

When Hiashi learned that Kamizuki had molded chakra, he looked utterly disbelieving. But after activating his Byakugan and examining Kamizuki's body, he really did see it: a tiny wisp of chakra flowing slowly through Kamizuki's body.
