The Conspiracy of Kumogakure

Time flies like an arrow, and in the blink of an eye, Hinata and Kamizuki were already three years old.

At this time, the Third Ninja World War had only recently concluded, and while the five great nations had ceased large-scale combat, they remained in a state of uneasy tension.

Driven by various interests, the five great nations would still, from time to time, engage in small-scale skirmishes and accidental fire-fights.

One day, a rumor spread throughout Konoha: a border patrol unit consisting of four jonin had encountered a four-man Kumogakure squad on the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning. For reasons unknown, a conflict erupted, resulting in the total annihilation of the Kumogakure unit at the cost of one elite Konoha jonin.

Upon hearing this, the Third Raikage issued a stern statement, vehemently demanding that Konoha provide an explanation to Kumogakure.

Ultimately, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire and the Konoha Council of Elders yielded to the Raikage's demands, citing the need for the nation and the village to recover after the recently concluded war.

Shortly after this rumor surfaced, representatives from Kumogakure arrived in Konoha with great fanfare to sign a compensation agreement.

In truth, the agreement merely required Konoha to provide some supplies to Kumogakure. The Konoha leadership was baffled; given the Third Raikage's earlier aggressive reaction, the demands were surprisingly modest—it was completely out of character for Kumogakure's usual methods.

However, the Konoha leadership had no way of knowing Kumogakure's true objective.

In reality, ever since the First Ninja World War, Kumogakure of the Land of Lightning had harbored a deep-seated blood feud with the Hyuga Clan of Konoha.

During the First Ninja World War, the founder and first patriarch of the Hyuga Clan, Tenin Hyuga, had engaged in a legendary battle against the First Raikage.

In the end, Tenin Hyuga—whose strength was in no way inferior to Hashirama Senju or Madara Uchiha—unleashed his ultimate technique, the "Thousand-Eye Byakugan," to defeat the First Raikage.

The Hyuga Clan and their Byakugan became renowned throughout the Ninja World because of this battle. The First Raikage later passed away due to the severity of his injuries.

In every subsequent Ninja World War, many Kumogakure ninja died at the hands of the Hyuga, fueling a deep hatred for the clan, yet the villagers of Kumogakure simultaneously harbored a desperate desire to obtain the power of the Byakugan.

Thus, while Kumogakure used the signing of the compensation agreement as a pretext, their true objective was to seize the Byakugan of the Hyuga Clan.

Before arriving in Konoha, Kumogakure had conducted extensive intelligence gathering on the Hyuga. Their Anbu discovered that the Hyuga patriarch had two three-year-old children, making them easy targets.

On a dark and windy night—the perfect time for kidnapping and murder—the Kumogakure jonin could no longer restrain themselves.

At four in the morning, when all humans are in their deepest sleep, two Kumogakure ninja dressed in pitch-black, unmarked night-gear stealthily infiltrated the home of Hiashi Hyuga.

Due to Kamizuki's transmigration, the original plot had already shifted, altered by the inadvertent flapping of his butterfly wings.

In the original story, a Kumogakure jonin had secretly infiltrated Hiashi's home to abduct young Hinata. During the escape, the ninja was caught and killed by Hiashi, who then failed to properly dispose of the body.

Kumogakure then claimed their jonin had died within the Hyuga compound for unknown reasons. The Raikage issued a fierce statement, demanding Konoha hand over the culprit or face total war, regardless of the cost.

In the end, the Konoha leadership and the Daimyo pressured the Hyuga to hand over the killer. Since Hiashi was the one who had killed the Kumogakure ninja, the clan could not possibly surrender their own patriarch.

Ultimately, it was Hiashi's twin brother, Hizashi Hyuga (the father of Neji Hyuga), who stepped forward to sacrifice his own life to save Hiashi's.

However, due to the butterfly effect caused by Kamizuki's presence, the plot had changed.

After hearing the adults discuss the arrival of the Kumogakure delegation, Kamizuki recalled this plot point. He knew the true intentions of the Kumogakure ninja, but what he didn't know was that he had been included in their plan to be bundled away alongside Hinata.

For the past few days, Kamizuki had not slept soundly, remaining in a state of semi-consciousness throughout the night.

When the two Kumogakure jonin quietly slipped into the room shared by Hinata and Kamizuki, Kamizuki spotted them immediately.

Just as the two jonin were about to lift Hinata and Kamizuki from their small beds, Kamizuki suddenly let out a loud cry, startling the highly-strung Kumogakure ninja and nearly scaring them out of their wits.

The loud noise emitted by Kamizuki also woke Hiashi, who was fast asleep in another room.

Hiashi rose and rushed into the children's room, where he saw two figures in night-gear attempting to harm his son and daughter.

Without hesitation, Hiashi unleashed the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist against the two unidentified intruders. The Kumogakure jonin were elite, however, and reacted with lightning speed, using a Body Flicker Technique to dodge out of Hiashi's attack range.

Seeing that Hiashi had arrived, the two Kumogakure jonin realized that if they didn't leave immediately, they would soon be surrounded by other members of the Hyuga Clan, and the consequences would be dire.

The Kumogakure ninja were not afraid of death, but they feared being captured alive by the Hyuga, which would not only mean mission failure but would also bring unforeseen trouble to their village. The two exchanged a glance, signaling a retreat.

However, as one of the jonin was about to escape through the window, Hiashi struck his back with a Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher, killing him instantly.

The Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher is a technique that utilizes chakra to unleash a full-power strike resembling a massive laser beam; its power is so immense that it can instantly level a small mountain.

The fact that Hiashi used such a devastating technique showed that he was in a state of absolute, unbridled rage.

The other Kumogakure ninja escaped through the door. Hiashi was about to pursue him, but before he could, little Kamizuki had already run to his side, tugging on his pant leg with his small hand and looking up at him with his adorable, wide-eyed Byakugan, his expression pitiful.

Seeing this, Hiashi abandoned his intent to chase the fleeing intruder.

And so, Kumogakure's conspiracy was thwarted by Kamizuki. Because the Kumogakure jonin had died inside the room of Hiashi's children, the village had no pretext to lash out at Konoha, and they were forced to return home with only the meager compensation.
