The moment Kamizuki opened his Tenseigan, which were the color of moonlight, he saw five or six more of the same runes that had appeared beneath Mai Shiranui's feet scattered along the riverbank.

Simultaneously, under the keen insight of his Tenseigan, he detected a subtle, almost imperceptible fluctuation of natural energy drifting toward the downstream of the river.

Kamizuki quickly gathered chakra into his palm, picked up one of the runes to store in his ninja pouch, and then followed the trail of the fading natural fluctuation.

Following this natural energy, Kamizuki pursued it for about twenty minutes until the river flowed into a cavern, the faint natural energy flowing into the cave along with the water.

After a moment of thought, Kamizuki realized that this Qiyulong River must flow underground, transforming into a subterranean river.

He scanned the area around the cave entrance; aside from many strange rock formations, he found nothing else out of the ordinary.

Kamizuki then projected his Tenseigan's insight into the cave, tracing the river's path with his gaze; it was indeed a naturally formed underground river.

His vision followed the underground river for about two thousand meters deep into the earth before he spotted a fork in the cavern, where the river split into two, one branch heading left and the other right.

Cage Jutsu: The user inscribes a special incantation onto a rune, typically used as a trap laid on a path the enemy must take. Once the enemy steps on the inscribed rune, their body is sucked into the rune and trapped within a very short period.

Only when the user dispels the incantation can the person trapped inside the rune be released.

Of course, the incantation in Kamizuki's hand now appeared to be a modified version of the "Cage Jutsu."

The moment his body disappeared, the rune drifted along the Qiyulong River and into the underground waterway.

It is unknown how long the rune floated through the subterranean river before it finally came to a stop.

For some unknown reason, the moment the rune stopped moving, it spontaneously ignited, and as it burned, a plume of black smoke emerged from it.

When the rune had burned to ashes, the black smoke transformed into Kamizuki's physical form, appearing before the entrance of a cave.

Hearing the footsteps drawing closer, Kamizuki reacted quickly; he gathered chakra beneath his feet and sprinted up along the rock wall.

Just as Kamizuki reached the ceiling of the cave, two figures wearing animal masks emerged from the depths of the cave.

They searched the riverbank for something, but after a while, they seemed unable to find what they were looking for, and a flicker of confusion crossed their eyes.

The two exchanged glances before beginning to scan the surrounding environment of the cave.

Suddenly, one of the two tilted his head and looked up toward the steep rock wall, and as his gaze reached the ceiling of the cave...
