"Hey! Wake up!"
The woman slowly opened her eyes and sat bolt upright in bed. "Where's Xiang Nuan?!"
"Stay calm. Do you remember who I am?" Chen Ge quietly lowered the Skull Crusher Hammer.
"Chen Ge?"
"Where did we meet for the first time?"
"At the dam at Donggang Reservoir. What's wrong? Xiang Nuan's missing. We have to hurry and find him!" The woman was frantic, but Chen Ge remained where he was.
"What were the two words I said that made Xiang Nuan stop crying?"
"I didn't hear clearly. I think it was 'Underworld Fetus'?"
"One last question. Why would I kill Xiang Nuan?" Chen Ge stared at the woman's face. His final question frightened her.
"You're going to kill Xiang Nuan?"
"Looks like you're not a monster from the World Behind the Door in disguise." The woman's reaction seemed perfectly normal. Chen Ge didn't explain why he'd asked those questions. He turned and walked out of the bedroom, then checked the living room door.
The doors and windows were shut tight. He and Xiang Nuan's mother were the only ones in the apartment.
"Whenever I enter another child's World Behind the Door, a black iron door that reeks of disinfectant appears behind me. But I didn't see that black iron door when I entered this one. What happened between the moment I entered the Blood Door and the instant I opened my eyes?" Chen Ge pondered silently, when the woman's voice suddenly came from beside him.
"Why did I suddenly fall asleep? Where's Xiang Nuan? I vaguely remember him entering a door, and then I followed him in." The woman held her head, unable to recall what had happened afterward.
"You really have nerves of steel. Only the dead and those close to death can enter that door."
