The dormitory door stood half open. Liu Kang stared at the empty hallway and drew in a quiet, sharp breath.
The Male Assistant wasn't brave, but he wasn't exactly a coward, either.
"What did he see out there by himself?"
The same question surfaced in everyone's mind. None of them knew why the Male Assistant had fled in such a panic. If this wasn't a staged scene they'd planned in advance, then something had gone seriously wrong.
"Brother Kang, your buddy's a bit of a coward." Lan Dong stood beside Liu Kang, confusion written all over his face. The others had been hiding in the dormitory at the time. The Assistant could have knocked on the door and asked for help, so why had he run toward the other end of the corridor?
Was he so terrified that fear had completely taken over his mind, robbing him of his basic judgment?
Or was whatever had scared him right outside the dormitory door?
Goosebumps rose on Lan Dong's neck. He looked around, but didn't see anything frightening.
"His phone's still here." A-Li was about to pick up the Male Assistant's phone when he noticed a bloodstained piece of paper beside it. "Look!"
He picked up the paper. Several lines were scrawled across it: There's a secret passage hidden behind a mirror somewhere in the East and West Campus. You can leave the East and West Campus through the passage, but after we left, we discovered...
"We haven't even beaten the game, so why are we getting clues?" A-Li held up the paper. "Is this information meant to mislead us? Mirrors are something you need to be careful around in a lot of places, especially after dark. It's best not to hang around near them."
