A-Li carried the Wooden Box at the back of the group.
He was honest and dependable, not as sensitive as Xiao Chun. He only had a vague feeling that something was off.
"Why does the name Lin Sisi keep popping into my head? Is it because I took his drawing? That can't be it. It's probably just my imagination."
Walking through the pitch-black corridor, A-Li couldn't stop his mind from wandering. His memories seemed to be covered by something, and in a daze, he saw a frail boy standing not far away.
He couldn't make out the boy's face. There were no obvious injuries on him, but his clothes were tattered, his backpack zipper had been torn off, his hair was soaked, and his face was caked with mud.
Compared with his filthy body, the boy's numb expression was even more heartbreaking.
"You..."
"What?" Macho Man the Cameraman jumped at A-Li's voice. "Is something wrong?"
"N-no, it's nothing. Sorry." A-Li quickly apologized and looked around. There wasn't a child anywhere. What confused him was that, despite the eerie, frightening surroundings, the place felt familiar, as if he'd been here before. "Did I come here when I was little? Or did I dream about it in a nightmare?"
People often found themselves in an unfamiliar place and suddenly felt they'd been there before. That wouldn't matter at an ordinary attraction, but this was the third underground floor of a haunted house, an "unopened area" without even a single light installed.
As soon as A-Li started thinking, more frightening scenes surfaced in his mind. The child was cornered in a classroom, shoved into a Toilet Stall, and surrounded by twisted faces grinning at him as they splashed him with ink and dirty water.
"Enough!" A-Li suddenly shouted, making everyone ahead of him
