Though the Japanese-style old mansion only had a few rooms, it felt like a maze. Some rooms connected to each other. What looked like partitions between them were actually sliding wooden doors.
The layout was extremely strange. The five bedrooms corresponded to the body's five organs, and Chen Ge had found a Fragmented Scroll covered in scripture in each one.
The building was Japanese in style, but the scrolls were written in traditional Chinese characters. Most of them were obscure, and the only ones Chen Ge recognized were "metal, wood, water, fire, and earth."
"Five bedrooms, five organs, the Five Elements..." The sound of a wind chime rang in his ears. Chen Ge turned to look. He had been wondering where the sound came from. This was the second time he had heard it.
"Have you noticed that this mansion looks like a person lying face-down?" The policeman was treating Chen Ge very well now. Like a shadow, he followed right behind him, going wherever Chen Ge went.
"A person?"
"Yeah. The room we entered is the person's head, the side rooms on the left and right are the arms, and the legs are at the back. This corridor in the middle is the body. The Shrine is at the end of the corridor, as if someone's foot is planted right on top of it." The policeman's words gave Chen Ge some inspiration.
"If the whole building represents a person, then the layout is like a living person suppressing the Shrine."
