The sound of the door closing startled all the visitors. They turned to look at Chen Ge.
"If we leave it open, I keep feeling like something might come through. It's safer this way, so we don't get attacked from both sides."
Chen Ge made up an excuse and turned to the police officer. "Have you been to this scenario before?"
"Yeah. The hotel scenario is a buffer zone where visitors can relax. Once we finish this scenario, we only need to experience one more before we can clear the haunted house."
Hearing that from the police officer perked everyone up. Their nightmare of a haunted house visit was finally nearing its end.
"A buffer zone? So this scenario isn't scary?" Chen Ge had rarely seen a haunted house with a buffer zone.
"There aren't any ghosts in this scenario. There are twelve rooms in total, and a murderous maniac is hiding in one of them. All we have to do is avoid him and find the secret passage hidden in the hotel so we can escape." The police officer stopped holding back. He wanted to get out of this haunted house as soon as possible, too.
"Where was the secret passage when you visited last time?"
"The secret passage isn't in a fixed location. Every one of the twelve rooms has one, but only one room's passage is unlocked. This scenario depends a lot on luck. The first door we open might lead to an unlocked passage, or the murderous maniac might be hiding right behind it." The police officer spread his hands. "I've told you everything I know. If something goes wrong again this time, you can't blame me."
