• Qin Xi warned the group that the Masked Man might be using Qin Dao’s body to regain a physical form, and resolved to stop him despite their connection.
• Yu Xue recalled that Qin Dao began weakening after he fainted about half a year earlier, around the time the Masked Man’s abductions began.
• Qin Xi suspected the Masked Man had absorbed the missing disciples’ soul energy to restore himself, but the group could find no way to remove the black qi or locate him.
• Most Beautiful White Fox reported that black qi had abducted Fox Clan members in Jiangbei, prompting Qin Xi to travel there while Yu Xue and Sweet Potato guarded Qin Dao.
• Qin Xi, Di Qun, Ao Xin, and Daoist Yangmei journeyed north and reached Seven Black Town, where the innkeeper described people mysteriously disappearing after dark.
• Qin Xi and Daoist Yangmei questioned the innkeeper and connected the town’s disappearances and reports of a strange ghost to the Masked Man.
• Di Qun reported a strange power in a forest ahead of Qiangbei, and Qin Xi decided to investigate the area with Ouyang Qing.
• Ao Xin brought Ouyang Qing to Qin Xi, who asked about his family affairs before they set out to investigate.

Qin Xi followed reports of a mirror bearing his face into Nightmare Wetland, where he and his companions battled its nightmare effects. They finally encountered the Masked Man, who revealed his goal of obtaining Beibei's body and began using the wetland to put Qin Xi’s group to sleep.

• Qin Xi learned from Hong Lian that a mirror resembling him had appeared in the Dark North Frontier, then led his group toward Nightmare Wetland to investigate.
• Hong Lian guided Qin Xi and his companions across the dangerous wetland, where they endured poisoned water, thin air, and treacherous ground.
• Gas trapped Di Qun, Ao Xin, and Daoist Yangmei in nightmares, and Qin Xi and the others woke them with water and forceful blows.
• Qin Xi arranged for the group to sleep in shifts before they resumed their journey through the marsh.
• The sky darkened in the afternoon, and the Masked Man appeared in a mirror with a face identical to Qin Xi's.
• The Masked Man admitted that he had absorbed victims’ abilities and summoned Death Servants, while Qin Xi and his companions prepared to fight.
• Qin Xi clashed with the Masked Man, who revealed that he wanted Beibei's body and used Destruction to make the group drowsy.

Qin Xi and his companions battled the Masked Man, then escaped the Nightmare Wetland with Wukong’s help and treated their injuries. As Qin Xi prepared to return to the Human Realm and check on Qin Dao, he feared the Masked Man might target him to regain his strength.

• Qin Xi fought the Masked Man with blood talismans and the Law of Fantasy, while Di Qun took a devastating blow meant for him and the others fought the Death Servants.
• The Masked Man escaped through the swamp, leaving Qin Xi’s group injured and stranded, so Ouyang Qing fired a Fox Clan signal flare and Qin Xi contacted the Chat Group for help.
• Hong Lian’s injuries worsened, and Ouyang Qing cut off one of her tails to help her recover while Qin Xi and the Big Bosses discussed how to find the Masked Man.
• When the Fox Clan did not arrive, Wukong came to rescue the group and helped them carry Di Qun out of the swamp.
• Hong Lian led the exhausted group to a courtyard, where Qin Xi used a costly medicinal pill to save Di Qun and then collapsed from overexertion.
• After seven days, Qin Xi woke and reunited with the others, then told the Chat Group about the battle and his plan to return to the Human Realm and check on Qin Dao.
• Qin Xi and his companions agreed to leave in three days, while Qin Xi worried that the Masked Man might target Qin Dao to restore his strength and repair his mirror.

Qin Xi returned to the Human Realm, learned that cultivators were disappearing, and prepared to capture Mediocre Death God as bait for Masked Man. Masked Man ambushed Ao Xin’s group, escaped after clashing with Qin Xi, and Daoist Yangmei reported that another force had trapped him while lone disciples were being targeted.

• Qin Xi returned to the Human Realm with his companions, found Qin Dao’s health improving, and began teaching him the Law of Fantasy.
• Nine-to-Five Admiral and Forever Seventeen-Year-Old Girl told Qin Xi that cultivators had gone missing, and Qin Xi concluded Masked Man was targeting them.
• Qin Xi sent Ao Xin to escort Mediocre Death God back with Qirui and Momo while Ouyang Qing arranged a secure place to hold him.
• When Ao Xin’s group failed to return, Qin Xi headed to the city gate and found them fighting Masked Man and his Black-Clad Men.
• Qin Xi attacked Masked Man’s scarred mirror with the Law of Undying Fantasy, but Masked Man escaped after their clash.
• Qin Xi’s companions brought Mediocre Death God back and prepared to imprison him, while Ao Xin described the losses her forces had suffered.
• Daoist Yangmei returned after being trapped outside by unknown attackers and suspected they were capturing lone disciples for Masked Man.
