From Stelle and Castorice, Gnaeus learned that because of the immortal body he had forged, future generations had suffered boundless misery.
The Black Tide had twisted Nicadoli into a monster that knew only slaughter, while also granting him an immortal body.
He could not be killed, nor could his Core Flame be reclaimed.
Such a powerful monster would sooner or later destroy the world.
To help Stelle and Castorice defeat Nicadoli, Gnaeus slowly spoke, his tone solemn:
"The seal binding my divinity has been lifted."
"As long as the soul-forging is completed here, Nicadoli, the Titan of Strife, will be restored to wholeness."
"You will face a Titan at nearly the height of his power. At the same time, the glory of slaying a god will bloom before you."
A deep concern appeared on Castorice's face.
Her voice was filled with barely concealed sorrow:
"And what about you, Lord Gnaeus?"
Gnaeus folded his arms, his gaze resolute:
"I will return to my origin and become a fragment of Nicadoli's divinity, the Titan of Strife."
"The corruption will probably consume me, won't it? But to end this madness, this step is unavoidable."
Castorice looked utterly incredulous, her voice as heavy as lead:
"You are willing to make a sacrifice for a future... one you will never witness?"
Gnaeus gently shook his head, his tone calm:
"That is my origin, my mission."
"I am no mortal, nor do I fear death—"
As he spoke, he turned to Castorice, a faint curve forming at the corner of his lips:
"Even so, do you still intend to weep for me?"
Castorice placed a hand over her chest, pressing it tightly against her heart.
Her eyes were full of melancholy, her voice as soft as a sigh:
"All farewells in this
