Abilities & Skills
Soul Secret Techniques
- Clan members use soul secret techniques to interfere with opponents during combat 43.
- Their specialized cultivation methods provide somewhat greater resistance to soul impacts, but do not prevent severe soul damage from Hun Tiandi’s indiscriminate explosion 44.
- A Seven-Star clan combatant uses sinister Soul Fire against the Flame Clan’s Holy Flame 43.
Ten Thousand Soul Bone-Eroding Array
The Four Great Elders combine techniques of the same origin to form this array 43.
- The elders occupy four directions and form seals simultaneously 43.
- Ghost shadows within the array devour spiritual energy and directly corrode souls 43.
- Its layered power is comparable to an early Nine-Star Spirit Saint’s strike 43.
- The formation holds Yan Jin, Lei Ying, Gu Lie, and the Lava Giant Ape in a temporary stalemate 43.
Nether Soul Domain, Ten Thousand Souls Escape to Void
Hun Tiandi uses this technique to withdraw with the surviving Soul Clan elites 45.
- Black mist conceals distorted spatial traces, preventing opponents from locking onto the fleeing clan members 45.
- It is one of the clan’s strongest escape techniques and can only be performed by the clan leader 45.
- Its cost is immense, but it successfully enables the army’s retreat 45.
Equipment & Treasures
- Emperor Soul Banner — A clan heirloom covered with painful, twisted faces. Its core contains three Nine-Star Saint Spirit soul origins, nurtured over ten thousand years through generations of investment in resources and souls. Hun Tiandi detonates all three during the battle, damaging the banner and sacrificing a central part of the clan’s foundation 44.
- Heaven-tier high-grade spirit skills — Treated as clan treasures restricted to core bloodline members 38.
History
Ambitions and the Opposing Alliance
The Soul Clan’s pursuit of the Ancient Emperor’s Abode prompts Gu Yuan to seek cooperation with Lin Hai. Gu Yuan argues that the abode must not fall into Hun Tiandi’s hands, while Lin Hai agrees to consider cooperation on conditions demonstrating the Ancient Clan’s sincerity 32 33.
Lin Hai subsequently offers two Heaven-tier high-grade spirit skills to secure the participation of the Flame and Thunder clans. Yan Jin describes the Soul Clan as ambitious, while Lei Ying favors a joint offensive rather than allowing the clans to be targeted individually. The alliance is formalized through soul oaths, and its leaders agree to launch their war in one month 38 39 40.
Destruction of the Soul Hall Headquarters
The alliance attacks the Soul Hall headquarters in the Heaven-Burial Mountain Range. Its defenses collapse within the time required to burn an incense stick: the elders and Heavenly Venerables are killed, numerous lower-ranking members perish, and Hun Miesheng is captured with his Dou Qi sealed 42.
Hun Tiandi then arrives with the Soul Clan’s main forces. He shows no visible concern for the ruined headquarters or Hun Miesheng’s capture, instead confronting Gu Yuan, Yan Jin, Lei Ying, and Lin Hai 42.
Battle Against the Alliance
Hun Tiandi fights Gu Yuan, while Void Devouring Flame faces Lin Hai. The Four Great Elders engage the alliance’s other leading combatants through their coordinated array, and the lower-ranked Spirit Saints settle into a prolonged, closely contested battle 43.
Lin Hai seals Void Devouring Flame and moves to join Gu Yuan against Hun Tiandi. Facing their combined attack, Hun Tiandi detonates the Emperor Soul Banner’s three soul origins. The resulting soul shockwave devastates both armies and severely injures Hun Tiandi, Gu Yuan, and Lin Hai, bringing the fighting to a halt 44.
Retreat and Aftermath
With Void Devouring Flame sealed, the banner damaged, and his surviving forces badly wounded, Hun Tiandi chooses retreat rather than risk the clan’s remaining foundation. He escapes with the elites through his soul-domain technique; Gu Yuan orders the alliance not to pursue 45.
Lin Hai later estimates that the Soul Clan will need at least three to five years to recover its vitality. He nevertheless prepares for another confrontation by seeking Ninth-Grade Lightning Tribulation Pills intended to raise two of his magical beasts to the Eight-Star realm 46 48.
