Sooner or Later, I'll Slaughter You

"All ships, set sail! Ensure the transport of supplies is successful—"

Bai Ina's roar echoed in everyone's ears. The moment the words fell, he turned and bolted, narrowly dodging the pounces of several giant beasts.

"What!"

Mo Mo's pupils constricted. He instinctively moved to rush forward, but someone grabbed him firmly.

"Raise the anchors, prepare to sail."

"You..." Upon seeing who had spoken, Mo Mo's expression turned icy, and his hand flew to the hilt of the long sword at his waist. But before he could speak, the man jumped off the warship and headed straight for Bai Ina.

This caused Mo Mo's movements to falter, and he stood there, stunned.

"Of all the uninhabited islands, we had to find one crawling with ferocious beasts..."

Bai Ina looked at the three giant beasts closing in on him, a bitter smile tugging at his lips. He had already exhausted every ounce of his strength just to duel one; being surrounded by three left him feeling a glimmer of despair.

Yet, even in despair, Bai Ina forced his body to keep running through the searing pain.

Just then, one of the beasts let out a violent roar, slammed its claws into the ground, and surged forward with explosive speed. Its massive head aimed straight for the center of Bai Ina's back. At this rate, if he were hit, his body would surely be shattered to pieces.

Bai Ina sensed the violent, rushing force behind him. He spun around suddenly, channeling every last bit of his remaining strength into his palm. A pristine Sword Qi and a chilling, icy aura erupted simultaneously.

The two diametrically opposed paths of the male and female swordsman converged within Black Blade Dawn, and he unleashed it all in one go toward the beast's charging head.

"BOOM!" A massive roar echoed along the coastline, kicking up a thick cloud of dust that swallowed both him and the beast.

"Pfft!" The immense force rebounding from the blade sent Bai Ina flying backward, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

Though he was in a wretched state, the explosive combination of his two sword paths had caused the beast's ferocious head to burst apart. White brains and blood sprayed into the air, and the remaining carcass was sent spinning through the sky before slamming heavily into the ground in the distance, causing cracks to spiderweb beneath it.

His retreating form finally came to a halt when he collided with a large boulder. Before he could even wipe the blood from his lips, a giant beast suddenly appeared before him, its massive claw, wreathed in terrifying force, slamming down.

Seeing this, Bai Ina instinctively tried to dodge, but his battered body could no longer support any movement. He could only watch helplessly as the claw descended upon him.

Whoosh—

A sound of tearing air rang in Bai Ina's ears, but before he could turn to look, he felt a bone-piercing pain in his waist. He was yanked away, and the giant claw slammed into the ground just inches away. The beast was stunned by Bai Ina's sudden disappearance.

Turning its head, it realized a tiny figure had used a rope to drag its target away.

"ROAR!"

The roar of the beast behind him made Sa Kaiyang click his tongue. He hurriedly tugged on the rope, pulling Bai Ina straight toward him and hoisting him up...

But as soon as he regained his balance, Bai Ina cursed at the top of his lungs: "Are you trying to kill me, you bastard!!!"

"Huh?" Sa Kaiyang, who was running for his life, paused for a split second, then looked at Bai Ina with a confused expression while continuing to sprint. "What's wrong?"

Bai Ina's mouth twitched. He pointed to the iron hook hanging from his waist—the one used to latch onto enemy ships during boarding—and asked, "Is this what you used to drag me?"

"Yeah, it's so convenient! You just throw the hook and it latches on. If it weren't for that, you would've been smashed into a meat patty by that monster just now!" Sa Kaiyang said, looking proud.

"..."

Bai Ina's face darkened, and he was left speechless.

It was true; if not for the iron hook and rope, he would have been flattened. But...

"Do you have any idea how... sharp this thing is?" Bai Ina pointed to his blood-soaked shirt, his expression filled with extreme resentment.

Sa Kaiyang looked down at Bai Ina's waist and finally saw that the iron hook was embedded deep into his flesh, with blood streaming continuously down the rope.

"..."

Sa Kaiyang's face flushed red. He immediately turned his head away, acting as if he hadn't seen a thing, and continued to flee.

Bai Ina's mouth twitched again, but he knew this wasn't the time to argue. Staying alive was already a blessing...

Just as Sa Kaiyang was about to reach the shore, the two giant beasts caught up at high speed and lunged directly at them!

"Damn it!" Sa Kaiyang cursed fiercely as he looked at the shadows looming over them. He shouted at the warship, which had already raised its anchors: "Goddammit, set sail! Get moving—"

With that, Sa Kaiyang suddenly looked down at the Bai Ina he was carrying, his expression turning incredibly strange...

"What... are you doing..."

Bai Ina felt a chill run through his body and asked, his mouth twitching.

"Ha, sorry about this—" Sa Kaiyang's cryptic words left Bai Ina stunned, but his next action nearly made Bai Ina black out from the shock.

Sa Kaiyang hoisted Bai Ina onto his shoulder, reached his right hand up, and grabbed the tail of the iron hook. With a sickening 'squelch', he ripped the hook straight out of Bai Ina's waist!

"AAAAAAHHH—"

The unprepared, searing pain forced a miserable scream from Bai Ina.

Sa Kaiyang ignored the screams entirely, tossing the hook toward the railing of the moving warship.

Seeing this, the crew in the cockpit cranked the internal turbines to maximum power. The entire warship surged forward like a wild horse. With a massive jolt of inertia, Sa Kaiyang and Bai Ina were whipped through the air, landing directly in the sea as they were dragged along by the ship.

The two pursuing beasts stopped at the water's edge, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at the sea.

"Hahaha! So these monsters are afraid of water!"

Seeing this, Sa Kaiyang let out an excited shout. With a smug, villainous grin on his face, he excitedly waved the object held above his head—Bai Ina—and taunted the two beasts: "Come on! Come and get me, you bastards! Try and swat me, hahahahaha!"

The two giant beasts, seeing this, pounded their chests in a fit of rage.

"You two little beasts, even if you smash my chest open, what can you possibly do to me?" Seeing this, Sa Kaiyang laughed even more heartily, vigorously waving Bai Ina around to provoke the two furious giant beasts.

"Roar--"

An angry bestial roar echoed across the coastline. One of the giant beasts suddenly caught sight of a massive boulder to the side, walked straight over, and lifted the several-meter-high rock directly into the air.

"Huh?"

Sa Kaiyang's waving motion stiffened, his face instantly darkened, and he stammered, "What... is it trying to do?"

A cunning expression, almost human-like, appeared on the giant beast's face, and its mouth even curled into a mocking arc as it hurled the boulder. A whistling sound tore through the air, and in an instant, the rock reached the space directly above Sa Kaiyang's head.

"Holy sh*t--"

Swish.

A jet-black slash shot into the sky, cleaving the boulder clean in two, causing the pieces to tumble down.

"Damn, that was close!"

Seeing this, Sa Kaiyang let out a sigh of relief. After all, he was holding the rope in one hand and Bai Ina in the other; if that boulder had actually hit him, he would have had nowhere to hide.

"Nice cut..." He looked up, just about to praise Bai Ina's strike, but what met his eyes were Bai Ina's bloodshot pupils, filled with chilling killing intent...

"Sa Kaiyang... I'm going to slaughter you sooner or later..."
