Kakashi curled his lip and immediately reined in the dangerous aura around him.
Only then did Uchiha Shingen turn to look at the Sunagakure trio.
He casually glanced at the two Sunagakure genin standing behind Ye Cang, and they immediately froze in place, unable to move.
Uchiha Shingen looked at Ye Cang and said blandly:
"Today's matter ends here."
"Once the Chunin Exams begin, I don't care how you fight. But if anyone dies here, I won't be able to explain it to the higher-ups."
"Even if you don't understand the Leaf, we're all beasts of burden working for someone. Surely we can understand each other, right?!"
Ye Cang was slightly taken aback by those words.
She had thought Uchiha Shingen would deliver a long string of threats and intimidation. She truly had not expected this.
It made her somewhat interested in the boy before her.
The reason that had been overwhelmed by hatred moments ago gradually returned to her mind.
As Chiyo's disciple, she naturally knew of the grudge between her teacher and the White Fang of the Leaf. She knew even better how much pain White Fang had caused Chiyo.
But now that she had calmed down, she realized that although Kakashi's face bore a seventy percent resemblance to White Fang's, their ages did not match.
"Do I have a choice?!"
"No."
Uchiha Shingen slowly sheathed his sword.
As Kotetsu's blade gradually slid back into its sheath, the sharp aura surrounding him likewise withdrew, along with the gleaming edge.
Until it vanished completely.
Yet that fleeting burst of pressure had put everyone present on guard.
That brief exchange had made it seem as though Kakashi had been suppressed the entire time, walking a tightrope. But from another perspective, it was also proof of his absolute confidence in himself.
