That afternoon, Rin had barely returned to school before Obito latched onto her. When he entered the classroom that morning, he had noticed she was nowhere to be seen. He had not worried at first, since she sometimes arrived late. But when class began and she still had not appeared, he grew anxious.
Distracted throughout the lesson, Obito was unsurprisingly called out by Mr. Yamada. But a little harmless criticism could hardly settle his anxious heart.
So the moment he finally spotted Rin, Obito rushed straight over.
"Rin, why weren't you at school this morning? I was worried sick!" Obito looked frantic, his concern written all over his face.
"Oh!" Rin was a little surprised, but his concern made her happy. "I went to Taiichi's house. We'd arranged it beforehand so I could ask him about medical ninjutsu."
"Rin, you're going to learn medical ninjutsu!" Obito's exclamation drew the attention of the nearby students, while he lost himself in fantasies of Rin healing him with medical ninjutsu. Before long, he was even drooling.
"Wait, why did you go to Taiichi's house?" Coming back to his senses, Obito realized that Rin had gone to another boy's house, and his face darkened.
"A girl shouldn't go to a boy's house all by herself!" Obito tried his hardest to dissuade her, then muttered under his breath, "If you're going to anyone's house, it should be mine."
"Obito, what are you talking about?" Rin now realized what he meant, and her face turned bright red. She could not stop herself from pounding him with her fists.
"Rin, did you really go to Taiichi to learn medical ninjutsu?" Yūhi Kurenai walked over just then, conveniently rescuing Obito.
"Taiichi only became a genin recently. Can he really teach someone properly?" Kurenai asked doubtfully.
