Background
Matsushita Taichi was originally a reincarnated soul, reborn into the world of shinobi. He was taken in by the Konoha Orphanage, where he was raised under the care of Sister Nonō, the orphanage's director 2 3 33. From a young age, Taichi displayed an unusual maturity and determination, likely influenced by the memories of his previous life. His parents, though deceased, left him scrolls containing ninjutsu and their personal insights, which he studied diligently after receiving them 3. Taichi also received a valuable medical ninjutsu scroll from Sister Nonō, who encouraged his independence and provided him with the resources to grow as a ninja 2 3. This early support laid the foundation for Taichi's strong sense of responsibility and his desire to protect those he cared about.
The bond between Taichi and Sister Nonō was one of the defining relationships of his early life. Nonō treated Taichi like family, and he reciprocated with deep loyalty and affection. When Taichi moved into his own home, Nonō gifted him a notebook containing her Medical Ninjutsu notes, a gesture that symbolized both her trust and her hope that he would become self-sufficient 2. Despite leaving the orphanage, Taichi remained a constant presence there, often visiting to cook meals, play with the children, and help with chores 20 97. He saw the orphanage not as a temporary shelter but as a home, and the children as his younger siblings. This bond gave Taichi a sense of belonging and purpose, especially during difficult times. After his first harrowing extermination mission, it was Nonō's comfort and guidance that helped him overcome his mental barriers, reinforcing his resolve to protect the orphanage and all who lived there 67.
Taichi's gratitude and love for Nonō motivated many of his early decisions. Concerned about the orphanage's financial struggles, he invented a method to extract allicin from garlic for medicinal use, hoping to generate income and ensure the orphanage's stability 5 10. As he grew stronger, Taichi consciously decided to protect Nonō and the children from external threats, including the manipulations of Danzo 3 20. When he graduated early and became a Genin, one of his first acts was to say a heartfelt goodbye to the orphanage, promising Nonō that he would now be the one to protect them 33. Even as his responsibilities as a ninja increased, Taichi continued to prioritize his bond with Nonō, visiting her at the hospital after missions and discussing the rising tensions in Konoha 189. Their relationship remained a cornerstone of his emotional life, grounding him in a world often defined by violence and loss.
Taichi's strength and influence continued to expand during the Third Shinobi World War. Following his Jonin promotion, he became a major frontline asset capable of independently confronting elite enemy forces, while retaining his role as a medic, instructor, and tactical leader 244 275 305. He later developed Sage Mode and began using it to accelerate his cultivation, believing that sufficient personal strength was necessary to protect Konoha and his loved ones from future threats, including the Ōtsutsuki 312 325 375.
Following the war, Taichi continued to expand both his influence and his understanding of unusual power systems. While Konoha rebuilt and Minato reformed the Military Police Force, Taichi studied the Evil God's divine consciousness in an underground laboratory. This research significantly extended the duration of his Sage Mode and reflected his continued pursuit of strength against future threats 395.
Taichi subsequently became central to Konoha's dealings with the Moon Ōtsutsuki clan. After effortlessly defeating their envoy Yuto and later defeating clan head Katsuya in a formal duel, he secured the clan's submission to Konoha and the transfer of the Giant Tenseigan. The Moon Ōtsutsuki clan was later integrated with the Hyuga clan, though Taichi largely left the long-term political adjustment to the clans themselves 437 444 458.
As his understanding of Natural Energy deepened, Taichi began training Itachi, Jiangtai, and Yami in a distinctive, inheritable form of Sage Mode. He regards this effort as a means of creating a new branch of senjutsu rather than merely strengthening individual disciples, ensuring that senjutsu will no longer be monopolized by the Three Great Sage Regions 458.
During the Land of Demons crisis, Taichi brought his disciples to investigate the disappearances of Konoha teams and became involved in the war against Mōryō and the Ghost Legion. He saved Shrine Maiden Miroku, left a Shadow Clone and the Nine-Tails to guard the Shrine Maiden Palace, and personally reinforced the canyon defense line with Sage Mode, large-scale Fire Style, and battlefield medical support 471 472 474.
Personality
- Diligence and Hard Work: Taichi's training is “persistent, monotonous, and obsessive,” reflecting a daily routine that exhausts all his stamina 10. After a loss to Danzō he intensifies his training 30, and later uses Shadow Clones for round-the-clock practice, earning a reputation for dedication 196. His core talent, “Diligence Makes Up for Mediocrity,” underscores that effort is his primary path to growth 1 3 4.
- Determination and Ambition: From the start he is “determined to become strong” 1, and this resolve hardens after facing real combat and the looming Third Ninja War 43 52. He sets the ambitious goal of mastering all five elemental affinities, exchanging mission records for multiple C-rank ninjutsu scrolls 76. His drive is also personal: “I never want to stay in this hospital again!” 43.
- Strategic Thinking and Intelligence: Taichi consistently impresses superiors with his analytical skill, such as when he and Captain Yamaguchi independently select the same C-rank escort mission based on intelligence 43. The Hokage and his captain praise his “strategic thinking” 52. In combat he exploits enemy infighting with a bluff 82 and coordinates tactical assassinations 117. His “Academic Overachiever” talent gives tenfold focus and doubled learning speed 4.
- Loyalty and Sacrifice: He is willing to risk his life to prevent an enemy from escaping, showcasing “loyalty to Konoha” and “willingness to make sacrifices” 117. His motivation to earn money is rooted in supporting the orphanage and Nonō 5. He feels a lingering affection for friends, shown when eating ramen alone 27, and later warns Konoha ninjas about the Kazekage’s presence out of concern for comrades 196.
- Resourcefulness and Adaptability: Taichi can shift tactics and techniques fluidly—using Fire, Earth, and other styles to overcome puppeteers 117, infiltrating an enemy cave with Earth Style: Subterranean Voyage 82, and inventing a method to extract allicin for medicinal use 5. His attribute lists show rapid acquisition of new nature transformations and skills, adapting to battlefield demands 86 129 173.
- Self-@@REF_ENTITY_12062279@@wareness and Humility: After gaining Tsunade’s backing, he becomes “more aware of his strengths and the strengths of others,” learning to evaluate himself accurately 14. He insists his squad remain unknown to avoid being targeted 143, and in negotiations with Tsunade he is “decisive” yet humble 11. He recognizes the importance of continuous growth despite pride in his achievements 129.
- Confidence and Pride: He enters the Ninja Academy “confident in his abilities” 1, and later is proud of reaching Genin Lv10 (max level) at age 9, though he knows he must strive further 129. His confidence grows with powerful backing and clear self-assessment 14.
- Compassion and Hospitality: Taichi cooks an impressive meal for Tsunade and invites her to stay, leading to a personal bond 11. He thanks friends for their support by treating them to barbecue 30, shares training insights with Minato and Rin 76, and encourages Guy after his failure 1. His squad members show camaraderie and he secretly gives a thumbs-up to Yohei 43.
- Warlike Nature and Combat Prowess: His extreme training with Shadow Clones hints at a “warlike nature” 196. In battle he kills a Jonin in a single exchange 143, and his “Blade Momentum (Guard)” derived skill reflects his protective yet lethal fighting style 67 129. He genuinely enjoys sparring and improving from it 8 19.
- Financial Consciousness: From the beginning he is “financially conscious” 1, and his money-making plan is driven by the need to support the orphanage and secure independence 5. He is pragmatic about using resources efficiently.
- Mentorship and Patience: As his standing rises, Taichi takes on an increasingly active teaching role. He tailors instruction to the students before him, teaching Asuma the foundations of high-powered ninjutsu, training Guy, Ebisu, and Genma through Shadow Clones, and later offering precise taijutsu guidance to Yohei and Guy 242 305 396. He later guides Itachi, Jiangtai, and Yami through the dangerous process of Sage Mode cultivation, aiming to establish a form of inheritable senjutsu 458.
- Protective Independence: Taichi prefers personally developing the strength needed to deal with existential dangers rather than relying on authority or circumstance. He explicitly resolves to become powerful enough to repel the Ōtsutsuki and protect his family himself 375.
- Research-Oriented Patience: Taichi methodically studies unfamiliar and dangerous powers rather than dismissing them. His sustained research into the Evil God's divine consciousness improves his Sage Mode's duration and demonstrates his patience in pursuing long-term advancement 395.
- Responsibility Toward Civilians: Taichi consistently uses his strength to protect noncombatants as well as shinobi. During the Land of Demons conflict, he prioritized the Shrine Maiden Palace, treated Miroku, stabilized the frontline, and made regular rounds through the wounded defenders despite the scale of the battle 471 472 474.
Abilities
Nature Transformations
Taiichi Matsushita has developed proficiency in all five basic elemental nature transformations as well as Yin, Yang, and Ice Release. His nature transformation levels are tracked systematically, with higher levels indicating greater proficiency, faster casting, and lower chakra consumption 14 129.
- Fire Nature Transformation (Lv13+): Taiichi’s highest-ranked affinity. He actively sought high-temperature flames to advance it, gaining insights from observing furnace fires and weapon forging 96. It serves as the foundation for powerful Fire Style techniques and combination releases like Scorch Release 119 144. By Ch. 244 (age 11, Jonin), it reached Lv13. He later uses Sage Mode to greatly increase the efficiency of his Fire Transformation training and approaches Lv14 325 326.
- Wind Nature Transformation (Lv12+): Developed alongside Fire to enable Scorch Release. It is a secondary affinity but maintained at high proficiency; it had reached Lv12 by the time Taiichi was a Jonin 144 173 244 274.
- Water Nature Transformation (Lv12+): Used for techniques like Water Style: Exploding Water Colliding Wave and Great Water Prison. Combined with Wind to form Ice Release, and with Fire to form Boil Release 41 144 210. It had reached Lv12 by Taiichi's Jonin period 244 274.
- Earth Style Nature Transformation (Lv11+): Gained from exchanging A-rank missions for C-rank scrolls, including Earth Style: Subterranean Voyage and Earth-Splitting Palm. Used for battlefield cleanup, defensive maneuvers, and underground escape routes 76 117 202 274.
- Lightning Nature Transformation (Lv11+): Similarly acquired from mission exchanges; includes Lightning Style: Lightning Ball and Lightning Clone. It steadily advanced through training and had reached Lv11 by Ch. 274 76 244 274.
- Yang Release Nature Transformation (Lv12+): Utilized for healing – Taiichi treated Yohei’s damaged eyes using Yang Release to regenerate tissue, and also incorporated it into medical ninjutsu and enhanced physical techniques 154 173 215. It reached Lv12 by Ch. 274, and Taiichi later placed further emphasis on advancing Yang Release after recognizing it as a limiting factor in his growth 274 421.
- Yin Release Nature Transformation (Lv11+): Provides a foundation for genjutsu and spiritual techniques; it reached Lv11 by Ch. 274 173 215 244 274. Taiichi later studied Uchiha genjutsu theory while teaching Itachi to improve his understanding of Yin Release 421.
- Ice Attribute Nature Transformation (Lv11+): A bloodline limit fusion of Wind and Water. Taiichi discovered and developed it, reaching Lv5 by Ch. 152 and Lv8 by Ch. 244. It grants unique ice-based techniques, increases chakra reserves, and reached Lv11 by Ch. 274 144 152 173 244 274.
Chakra Control and Shape Transformation
Advanced chakra manipulation is central to Taiichi’s versatility.
- Chakra Shape Transformation (Lv12+): Improved to the point of creating a miniature Rasengan and visible wings. It governs techniques that require molding chakra into specific forms, such as Rasengan and elemental ninjutsu 37 182 215 274. Taiichi later advanced this mastery into chakra materialization, allowing him to form a solid blade that can alter its shape in battle 437 444.
- Chakra Control (Lv13+): Demonstrated precise control during medical procedures – e.g., stabilizing Field Array Technique and regrowing a kidney. High control allows efficient chakra usage, rapid mastery of new techniques, and the creation of stable chakra constructs 110 111 244 274 444.
Skills and Derived Abilities
Taiichi’s foundational combat skills have been elevated to advanced levels with unique secondary effects.
- Advanced Taijutsu (Lv9): Integrated with Chakra Enhanced Strength for devastating close-quarters combat. His taijutsu is fluid and efficient, allowing him to overwhelm multiple opponents 94 143 244. After further physical training and sage-art tempering, he can dominate Yohei and Might Guy simultaneously without using chakra enhancement, redirecting their combined attacks with minimal motion 396. Its breakthrough to Lv9 brought his strength, speed, and endurance to Super Kage-level standards 434.
- Advanced Meditation (Lv8+): Enhances mental focus and chakra recovery. Used during training to accelerate Nature Transformation insights and to support Taiichi’s perception of Natural Energy 129 152 244 305.
- Advanced Swordsmanship (Lv9): Mastered Hatake Style Kenjutsu early, then elevated to Advanced Swordsmanship. His blade work is fast and precise, capable of cutting through puppets and defenses 94 117 129. He advanced it to Lv8 and gained insights into Natural Energy while training, then reached Lv9 after defeating Yuto Ōtsutsuki 305 437.
- Derived Skill – Blade Momentum (Guardian): A unique enhancement to his swordsmanship. Power +5% when the blade is swung for protection, giving the enemy a sense of indestructibility. The intent of guardianship amplifies the strike’s force 67 119 129.
- Chakra Enhanced Strength (Lv8): Learned under Tsunade’s guidance via correspondence. Concentrates chakra into the body for superhuman strength, breaking large trees and shattering defenses 88 157.
Advanced Techniques
Taiichi has developed and mastered several high-level ninjutsu, including space–time and sealing arts.
- Flying Thunder God (Lv7+): A space–time technique taught by Minato Namikaze. Taiichi created his own unique formula, “Invincible With Me,” and achieved Lv4 proficiency quickly. He later used it to rescue teammates and outmaneuver the Fourth Kazekage. He continued refining it, achieving Lv7 by Jonin promotion 181 182 192 210 244. He later used it to rapidly reinforce the Shrine Maiden Palace and the Land of Demons’ frontline 471 472.
- Sealing Jutsu (Lv12): Invested heavily after being trapped by seals. He reached Lv11 by Ch. 152 and Lv12 by Ch. 215. His sealing knowledge helped Kushina and Minato in technique development 152 173 192 215.
- Adamantine Sealing Chains: A powerful sealing technique developed through inspiration from Kushina Uzumaki’s chains. Taiichi created it while assisting Orochimaru’s research into snake bones and bodily modification 265.
- Shadow Clone (Lv9): Used for training and combat; multiplies experience gain and allows coordinated attacks 244. Taiichi can operate numerous clones independently across medical work, research, training, teaching, intelligence gathering, and defensive assignments 189 196 386 471.
- Spirit Transformation Technique (Lv4): A dangerous technique allowing spiritual projection or possession. Developed to Lv4 by Ch. 244 215 244.
- Fire Transformation Technique: A life-saving ninjutsu that converts the user’s body into fire to avoid harm. Developed by Taiichi and tested successfully 119. In combat, he combined this with blade momentum to instantly kill a Jonin 143. Its completed form removes conventional vital-point vulnerabilities so long as he can transform and recover in time 141.
- Sage Mode: Taiichi developed a distinctive Sage Mode after gaining insights into Natural Energy. It temporarily enhances all four physical attributes by at least two points, greatly raises his speed and power, and improves the efficiency of physical and elemental training; he can maintain it for more than ninety minutes at maximum 311 312 321. Tsunade judged the mode subtle but extremely potent after Taiichi overpowered her during a test 314. His later research into the Evil God's divine consciousness significantly increases its duration 395. Taiichi has further developed a method of senjutsu cultivation that he believes can be inherited by future practitioners, and he is currently teaching it to Itachi, Jiangtai, and Yami 458.
- Chakra Blade: Following his Advanced Swordsmanship breakthrough, Taiichi learned to materialize chakra into a solid blade that can serve as a replacement weapon and change shape as required. He used the construct after his Short Sword was broken in his duel against Katsuya 437 444.
Medical Ninjutsu
Taiichi possesses exceptional medical skills, comparable to a top-tier medic-nin.
- Mystical Palm Technique (Lv9): Standard healing technique used to treat wounds and accelerate tissue regeneration 32.
- Delicate Illness Extraction Technique (Lv8): Removes toxins, diseases, or foreign substances from the body. Demonstrated during team healing sessions 32.
- Chakra Scalpel (Lv6): A precise cutting tool used for surgery without external wounds, applied during internal repairs 32.
- Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Technique: An advanced procedure requiring multiple medic-nin. Taiichi single-handedly performed the technique, regrowing a kidney and repairing intestines for a critically injured Jonin. He stabilized the field array and completed the treatment in three hours, earning praise from Hiruzen Sarutobi 111.
- Ocular Regeneration: By applying Yang Release alongside his medical expertise, Taiichi can repair damage caused by Mangekyō Sharingan use, as demonstrated on Yohei 154 397.
- Battlefield Treatment and Instruction: Taiichi is capable of directing other medical ninja, raising treatment efficiency, and maintaining medical support through Shadow Clones even while pursuing other missions 195 196 284. During the Land of Demons conflict, he treated Miroku and regularly treated defenders whose injuries had been worsened by resentful spirits 471 474.
Other Notable Ninjutsu
Taiichi has a wide arsenal of C-rank to B-rank techniques across all elements, used in combined tactics.
- Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet, Searing Migraine 32. Also demonstrated advanced Flame techniques against Sunagakure puppeteers 117. He later uses Great Flame Bomb and combines Fire Style with Wind Style: Great Breakthrough to demonstrate large-scale ninjutsu power 242. In Sage Mode, he can use Sage Art: Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame on a battlefield scale to clear a path through Mōryō’s puppet legion 472.
- Wind Style: Air Palm, Pressure Damage 32. Used to enhance Fire Style into Scorch Release 119.
- Water Style: Water Formation Wall, Water Prison, Water Clone, Water Dragon Bullet, Great Water Prison, Exploding Water Colliding Wave – the latter used to flood a forest and repel Sunagakure forces 32 41 210.

Relationships
Tsunade
Taiichi’s relationship with Tsunade began as a master‑disciple bond rooted in medical ninjutsu. Tsunade tested his skills early on and arranged for him to intern at Konoha Hospital, showing a personal investment in his development 16. Over time, she became one of his most reliable allies: when Taiichi sought help to rescue Yakushi Nonō from Root, Tsunade promptly replied with an offer of support, lifting Nonō’s spirits 99. Their casual, friendly dynamic was further highlighted by Tsunade’s drinking habits and her willingness to mentor Taiichi in both medical techniques and Fire‑Style ninjutsu 8 16.
Their relationship later grew into one of mutual confidence between high-level shinobi. Tsunade delegated a seven-Jonin threat to Taiichi during the Mist campaign without hesitation, and she personally tested his newly acquired Sage Mode, acknowledging its exceptional power after he overpowered her 281 314.
Yakushi Nonō
Nonō served as Taiichi’s adoptive sister and earliest mentor. She gave him a notebook of her Medical Ninjutsu notes, encouraged his independence, and hosted a dinner at his new home to welcome his friends 2. The brother‑sister bond was deep and reciprocal: when Taiichi learned of Nonō’s imprisonment by Root, he immediately worked to secure Tsunade’s help, and sharing that news visibly boosted Nonō’s morale 99.
Might Guy
Guy and Taiichi formed a close friendship built on mutual respect and relentless training. They sparred frequently, with Guy recognizing Taiichi’s rapid progress and calling him a “dear friend” 8. Their bond extended beyond the training grounds—Guy and his father Might Duy were welcomed into Taiichi’s home for meals, and the two boys continued to train together through their academy years 2 8.
Taiichi later became one of Guy’s most valuable instructors. He tested and trained Guy alongside Ebisu and Genma, and subsequently gave Guy detailed guidance on making his direct Strong Fist more tactically flexible 305 396. Taiichi also saved Duy’s life after Duy’s battle with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, further deepening his connection to the Might family 284.
Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi was both a sparring partner and a reluctant mentor. He taught Taiichi the basics of Hatake‑Style Kenjutsu using a scroll from his father, Hatake Sakumo 17. Their sparring sessions pushed each other to improve—Kakashi realized Taiichi’s growing strength and felt motivated to better himself 94. The relationship was marked by mutual respect; Taiichi felt a debt of gratitude toward the Hatake family, and Kakashi eventually trusted him to help train Obito and Rin during the war 94 162.
Kakashi later came to deeply respect Taiichi’s senjutsu research. When Taiichi explained his ambition to establish a transmissible branch of Sage Mode, Kakashi recognized it as an undertaking with historic significance 458.
Minato Namikaze
Taiichi and Minato developed a strong working relationship built on trust and coordination. They first reunited on a mission to rescue Hatake Sakumo, during which Minato recognized Taiichi’s medical skills and strategic mind 89. Later, they fought together in the assassination of Rousha, using precise teamwork—Taiichi’s Fire Style clearing the way for Minato’s Flying Thunder God 117. Minato later asked Taiichi to take Kakashi and Obito’s squad under his wing, demonstrating his confidence in Taiichi’s leadership 162.
Minato also served as Taiichi’s principal guide in learning the Flying Thunder God. Their later collaboration with Kushina on improving the technique revealed Minato’s recognition of Taiichi’s extraordinary talent for space–time and sealing arts 182 192.
As Hokage, Minato continued to trust Taiichi with sensitive missions and research. He assigned him the investigation into the disappearance of two Konoha teams in the Land of Bears and asked him to assist with improving the Flying Thunder Formation due to his expertise and available time 458.
Yohei
Yohei was Taiichi’s teammate and someone whose life Taiichi repeatedly saved. After the battle with bounty hunters, Taiichi treated Yohei’s injuries and scolded him for neglecting his health 92. When Yohei awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, Taiichi revealed his own Uchiha identity and used Yang Release to repair the damage to Yohei’s eyes 154. Their relationship deepened through shared training and philosophical conversations about war and peace 94 104.
In later years, Yohei became a Military Police captain and continued to regard Taiichi as a trusted senior and mentor. Taiichi sparred with Yohei and Guy together, then gave Yohei specific advice on concealing his intentions and making his close-combat transitions more fluid 396. Their reunion after the war retained its easy camaraderie, with Yohei's outgoing conduct helping improve relations between the reformed Police Force and Konoha's wider population 395 396.
Saori
Saori was another core teammate who grew close to Taiichi through combat and mutual support. Taiichi treated her injuries after intense missions and expressed genuine concern for her well‑being 92. She, along with Yohei, was among the first to know Taiichi’s secret bloodline limits, and she sparred with him to push him to his limits 153 154. Taiichi also cooked meals for her and Yohei after they were discharged from the hospital, strengthening their bond 94.
After returning from the Northern Front, Saori agreed to assist Taiichi with his administrative workload. Their relationship consequently expanded from comrades-in-arms to professional collaborators, with Taiichi trusting her to handle delegated responsibilities 380.
Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara
Taiichi’s relationship with Obito and Rin developed primarily through Minato’s request for him to train their squad. He oversaw their growth during the war, with Obito’s infatuation with Rin becoming apparent as the team worked together 162. Earlier academy encounters showed Obito’s budding feelings for Rin and a friendly rivalry with Kakashi, but Taiichi’s direct interactions with them were limited until he began training them formally 2 162.
Captain Yamaguchi
Captain Yamaguchi was a senior Jonin who respected Taiichi’s abilities and later became his sparring partner. After seeing Taiichi’s medical skills and connection to Tsunade, Yamaguchi worked smoothly with Minato and Taiichi during the Sakumo rescue mission 89. Taiichi actively sought Yamaguchi’s guidance, inviting him to join the squad’s training sessions to learn from his experience 99.

Their interactions were limited but consistently positive, with the Hokage viewing Taiichi as a promising asset to the village.
Danzo Shimura
Danzo’s relationship with Taiichi was one of wary observation. After reviewing Taiichi’s progress, Danzo decided to personally investigate him, indicating a growing interest that bordered on suspicion 16. Later, Danzo’s manipulation of mission intelligence led to the ambush that killed Inuzuka Makoto, placing Taiichi’s squad in danger and straining Taiichi’s trust in the village’s leadership 92. Danzo also clashed with Hiruzen over Root’s actions, indirectly affecting Taiichi’s mission outcomes.
Kushina Uzumaki
Kushina acted as Taiichi’s teacher in Sealing Jutsu, guiding him through significant progress in that field 99. Their student‑teacher relationship was focused and productive, with Kushina’s instruction enabling Taiichi to develop his sealing skills during a critical period before the war.
Taiichi later collaborated with Kushina and Minato in developing improvements to the Flying Thunder God. His sealing expertise also inspired the development of his own Adamantine Sealing Chains from Kushina’s signature technique 192 265.
Yūhi Kurenai
Yūhi Kurenai approached Taiichi seeking training in genjutsu, and he agreed to teach her with the daily condition that she visit him at 3:00 PM 238. Their relationship was strictly professional, with Taiichi using Shadow Clones to maximize teaching efficiency. Her father, Yuhi Shinku, initially harbored concerns about Taiichi’s motives, but Hiruzen’s reassurance allayed those fears 238.
Orochimaru
Taiichi’s interactions with Orochimaru were marked by cautious respect. During the war, Orochimaru commanded the Northern Front and showed appreciation for Taiichi’s squad’s achievements, even offering to assign a new recruit (which Taiichi declined) 153. Taiichi remained aware of Orochimaru’s cunning and power, maintaining a polite but guarded demeanor. Orochimaru, in turn, demonstrated strategic generosity and used Taiichi’s successes to push for a counterattack against the Cloud Village 153.
Taiichi later assisted Orochimaru’s research on snake bones and human physique modification, though he remained uncomfortable with Orochimaru’s disregard for test subjects and methods 265.
Fugaku Uchiha
As fellow Uchiha with strong ties to Konoha, Taiichi and Fugaku developed mutual respect. Fugaku recognized Taiichi’s importance through Yohei’s relationship with him and later entrusted his son Itachi to Taiichi’s instruction 56 327. During the Mist campaign, Fugaku explicitly requested Taiichi’s protection for the Uchiha contingent, reflecting his confidence in Taiichi’s strength and judgment 280.
Itachi Uchiha
Itachi became Taiichi’s disciple after Fugaku brought him to Taiichi on New Year’s Day to fulfill a wartime promise. Taiichi accepted the responsibility, while Itachi showed unusual maturity and eagerness to learn from him 327.
Under Taiichi's instruction, Itachi became more outgoing and visibly happier, forming a close friendship with Yami and Jiangtai. Taiichi monitored the children's development from a distance and showed concern for their emotional well-being as well as their training 335.
Itachi later became one of Taiichi's three Sage Mode disciples. Alongside Jiangtai and Yami, he began cultivating Taiichi's distinctive form of senjutsu and accompanied his teacher during the Land of Demons crisis 458 471.
Jiangtai and Yami
Jiangtai and Yami are two of Taiichi's disciples and close companions of Itachi. Taiichi has overseen their physical, emotional, and ninja development alongside Itachi's, and the three children became increasingly close under his guidance 335.
They later began studying Taiichi's inheritable Sage Mode together. During the Land of Demons conflict, Jiangtai and Yami followed Taiichi and Itachi to the Shrine Maiden Palace and the canyon frontline, where they witnessed the consequences of war and sought to prove themselves as shinobi 458 471 472.
Asuma Sarutobi
Asuma initially approached Taiichi arrogantly and provocatively, but became respectful after being overwhelmingly defeated in sparring and witnessing Taiichi’s large-scale Fire and Wind Style techniques. Taiichi patiently explained the roles of chakra reserves, release proficiency, and nature transformation in powerful ninjutsu, becoming an influential teacher for him 242.
Medical Ninja Prisoners
After the Mist campaign, Taiichi accepted twenty-two captured Mist medical ninja as his subordinates. The group, led in part by Mizuki, chose to follow him in exchange for protection and a new place within Konoha, while Taiichi viewed their loyalty and medical abilities as a foundation for building his own reliable force 325 326.
Hyuga Hiashi
Taiichi's relationship with Hiashi was shaped by the Moon Ōtsutsuki crisis. When lunar envoy Yuto arrived seeking Hyuga cooperation, Hiashi approached the situation cautiously and defended his clan's dignity against Yuto's condescension 434. After Taiichi defeated Yuto with a single strike, he entrusted Yuto's interrogation to Hiashi, whose respect for Taiichi's overwhelming strength had grown substantially 437.
Moon Ōtsutsuki Clan

He later faced clan head Katsuya in a duel whose stakes included the clan's future and its ancient secrets. Taiichi's victory resulted in the clan's submission to Konoha and the acquisition of the Giant Tenseigan, after which the Moon Ōtsutsuki clan was merged with the Hyuga clan 444 458.
Miroku
Taiichi met Shrine Maiden Miroku during the Land of Demons crisis, when Mōryō's follower attacked the Shrine Maiden Palace.
