Taiichi helped turn the Mist Village’s campaign toward Sunagakure, developed Sage Mode, and returned to Konoha, where he joined the Anbu and began building a household of followers and students. The arc ended with Taiichi taking Itachi, Jiangtai, and Yami under his care while Madara Uchiha set out for Mist Village.

• Taiichi confronted the Third Mizukage, then tracked the Mist fleet as it raided Linchuan City and attacked Sunagakure.
• Taiichi learned to enter Sage Mode and confirmed with Katsuyu that his stable, golden-eyed form was a new method of Sage Art cultivation.
• Taiichi exposed a Root messenger’s forged order to return him to Konoha, and Hiruzen Sarutobi agreed to deal with the Root ninja and send a replacement order.
• Jiraiya sought advice from Mount Myoboku, while the Great Toad Sage spoke of a changed prophecy and a battle that would destroy the old order.

Taiichi traveled to the Land of Water, while events at Kannabi Bridge led to Rin’s apparent death, Obito’s capture, and Taiichi’s confrontation with Madara. As Stone Village sought peace with Konoha, Taiichi continued searching for Madara under the alias Ryunosuke.

• Taiichi stopped pirates from attacking Swim’s ship, then reached the Land of Water and met Madara, arguing that a capable person could reshape the world.
• Taiichi trained Itachi, Jiangtai, and Yami, and Itachi’s Sharingan briefly responded to his happiness before the children defended one another from hostile boys.
• Minato’s teams attacked Kannabi Bridge, but Black Zetsu stole Taiichi’s Flying Thunder God Kunai, and Rin was captured and implanted with a seal intended to target Minato.
• Rin died protecting Obito, awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan, and Minato destroyed Kannabi Bridge before carrying Kakashi and Rin back to Konoha.

Taiichi helped defeat Mukade and Urashiki in Rōran, then returned to Konoha as the village prepared for Minato to become Hokage. Minato took office and began repairing relations with the Uchiha while Taiichi warned him of the Ōtsutsuki threat.

• Ryunosuke joined Iwagakure’s war against Cloud Village, secretly disrupted the battle against the Third Raikage, and collected a huge bounty after the Raikage died.
• Obito approached Pain and Konan with his plan to gather the Tailed Beasts, and Pain agreed to cooperate while pursuing his own goal.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi prepared to step down, Tsunade returned to Konoha to lead the hospital, and Taiichi helped establish medical training at the Ninja Academy.
• Taiichi, Kakashi, and Rin investigated Rōran, discovered Naruto and Yamato had arrived from another timeline, and defeated Mukade after he empowered himself with the Dragon Vein.
• Taiichi defeated Urashiki in the Dragon Vein chamber, sealed the Dragon Vein, and returned to Konoha, while the Lunar Ōtsutsuki Clan and Jigen reacted to the disturbance.
• Minato became the Fourth Hokage after Hiruzen investigated ancient records about Kaguya and the Ōtsutsuki, and Taiichi warned Minato that the clan threatened the world.
