Izanagi and the Eight Gates

Kakashi studied Guy from head to toe. He was afraid he had fallen under an Illusion Technique and was seeing things.

But even the ceramic-like wounds on Guy's body were gone. His clothes looked untouched too, as though he had never been in a fight.

Yet Kakashi had clearly seen Guy open the Eight Gates. By all rights, he should have died.

Tobirama had the same question.

Unlike Kakashi, who was completely baffled, Tobirama already had a theory.

Sure enough, Guy pulled open one eyelid and carefully removed a small, round contact lens.

Only then did Kakashi notice that Guy's right eye had turned a dull gray-white.

Then Guy removed the colored contact from his other eye, revealing a Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

"Is that... Izanagi?"

Kakashi could still vividly remember the moment Xuanye killed Danzo at Root.

It was a forbidden technique that blurred the line between life and death, the ultimate Uchiha ocular technique that turned any reality unfavorable to its user into a dream.

Since when had someone as straightforward as Might Guy had a pair of Sharingan transplanted into his eyes?

"When did you get a pair of Sharingan transplanted?" Tobirama asked before Kakashi could.

A Sharingan transplanted into someone who was not an Uchiha could not be switched off.

But Xuanye had asked Orochimaru to make colored contacts that completely concealed the three Tomoe and provided a measure of Sealing.

With them, Guy looked no different from an ordinary person, and the eyes did not drain his Chakra under normal circumstances.

While sealed, however, the Sharingan's formidable ability to track movement and cast Illusion Techniques was sealed too.

In other words, these Sharingan had been created solely to activate Izanagi.

Tobirama frowned at once.

He had missed it yet again!

Something was off about this thick-browed kid.
