Xiujie's gaze was resolute. He exchanged a look with Ali, and the two seemed to share a tacit understanding. With a furious shout, the power lying dormant within them awakened in an instant. They leaped into the air like twin bolts of lightning and charged at Sada and his accomplice, Dazhe, from either side.
"Beep, beep, beep!!" The Power Level Scouter over Sada's right eye flashed wildly. Xiujie and Ali's readings soared from the unimpressive 300 and 270 to an astonishing 1,200 and 1,150. Sada couldn't help giving a bemused smile. "Their power levels have gone up. I didn't expect people on this planet to know how to conceal their power levels, too. Interesting. Very interesting!"
Elsewhere, Ling and Yuena sprang into action. Working in perfect sync, they supported Bulma and hurried as fast as they could toward the place where Zhou Zilong was secluded.
"That strength was completely different from before. Looks like I can have some fun with you two!" After Xiujie and Ali landed heavy punches on him, Dazhe didn't retreat. Instead, he grew excited.
Standing to one side, Sada calmly assessed the situation. "Dazhe, be careful. These two have greatly increased their power levels, but you don't need to worry. With your power level of 2,000, you can handle them easily. I'll go after the two who ran off with the prey!"
Meanwhile, inside the chamber, Zhou Zilong was wholly focused on training, doing one-finger push-ups, an advanced version of regular push-ups. Sweat slid down his forehead and dripped onto the cold stone floor.
"Nine hundred ninety-one! Nine hundred ninety-two... Nine hundred ninety-nine, one thousand!" After completing his final one-finger push-up, he should have felt calm and satisfied, but for some reason, a restlessness stirred within him.
"This is strange. Why can't I seem to settle down and train?" Zhou Zilong began to doubt himself.
By then, the fight had reached its most intense, fever-pitch stage. Ali and Xiujie swung their fists again and again, attacking Dazhe, but their blows were ineffective. Stronger than them by a good margin, Dazhe toyed with the two like a cat playing with mice.
"Hey, try a little harder! You're almost hitting me!" Dazhe's laughter rang out, full of contempt for the weak and confidence in his victory. Each taunt seemed to carve a fresh wound into Ali and Xiujie's hearts, but they didn't back down. Their gazes only grew more resolute.
"Sorry, but winning a fight against you isn't our goal. We're only trying to keep you occupied," Xiujie said calmly and firmly.
"Keep me occupied? Are you joking? Haven't you noticed my other companion is already gone?" Dazhe said mockingly.
Xiujie and Ali glanced to the side and realized that Dazhe's companion had already disappeared.
Meanwhile, Bulma was struggling to keep up, supported tightly on either side by Ling and Yuena. The three raced down the road like arrows loosed from a bow.
"How much farther do we have to run? Can't we stop for a bit? I'm exhausted!" Bulma panted, her voice tinged with exasperation and determination. Though her eyes were weary, her yearning for the unknown and her trust in her companions hadn't diminished in the slightest.
"Madam Boss, just hang on a little longer. We're still in a dangerous area. Right now, we have to make sure you're safe before we can relax." Ling's voice was firm and calm. She scanned their surroundings, alert to any possible threats. Yuena nodded in understanding, and the two picked up their pace again, each step seeming like a defiance of fate.
Just as the three were about to cross a road, a chilling voice rang out like a ghost's. "Sorry, but I never said I'd let you leave. You've got some nerve, just taking off without permission." Sada, Dazhe's companion, appeared out of nowhere and blocked their path, a cold smile curling his lips.
The atmosphere froze, and tension and unease filled the air. Ling reacted at once, pushing Bulma toward Yuena as she took up a fighting stance. "Yuena, you're the fastest among us. Carry Madam Boss and run. I'll buy you some time!" Her voice held an unshakable resolve.
Yuena didn't hesitate for a moment. She knew every second was crucial. She grabbed Bulma's hand, hoisted her onto her back, and then turned into a streak of light as she sped away.
Ling, meanwhile, turned to face Sada, ready for the battle to come.
At the same time, in a training room not far away, Zhou Zilong sat with his eyes closed, focused inward, a faint ripple of energy surrounding him.
He abruptly opened his eyes, a flash of surprise passing through them.
"Damn, I knew there was a reason I couldn't focus. Something's happening outside!" he muttered, then sprang up and vanished from the spot.
After changing into his Battle Suit, Zhou Zilong looked even colder and more formidable. An indescribable fury and resolve surged within him.
"You picked a fight here, so don't think you're getting away." His words brimmed with unquestionable authority. Then he moved, streaking outside like a meteor across the night sky.
Ling and Sada were on the verge of clashing. Ling stepped forward and threw a punch at him.
Sada gave a contemptuous smile. "Your strength may be among the best on this planet, but your moves look like slow motion to me." His words were brimming with confidence and arrogance, as though victory were already his.
"Ling, we're here to help!" Just as Ling's attack missed, Ali and Xiujie arrived in time, giving her a chance.
"I didn't expect you two to beat Dazhe!" Sada said, his voice carrying a hint of surprise.
As Sada finished speaking, an even fiercer battle began. Ali and Xiujie unleashed their full strength and attacked him.
"So your power levels can reach 1,700. No wonder Dazhe lost to you." The moment they clashed, Sada easily read their power levels on his Power Level Scouter. His expression didn't change in the slightest. "But I'm not some low-level warrior like Dazhe. Even if you two have power levels of 1,700, you're still no match for me!"
In the blink of an eye, Sada took down Ali and Xiujie with a single blow. Blood stained their clothes, and their fallen forms looked especially tragic.
"Cough! Cough!" They struggled to their feet, each breath bringing sharp pain, but there wasn't a hint of retreat in their eyes.
"Goodbye, you two insects. I'm going after the prey from before!" Sada said contemptuously, turning as if to leave.
