Above the wreckage inside the spaceship, dust and smoke intertwined to form an apocalyptic scene. Kazer curled his hand into a claw and gathered dark purple energy, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Zhou Zilong.
Facing Kazer's oppressive aura, Zhou Zilong used his spatial ability to feed himself a Senzu Bean, then raised his hands into the opening stance of the Kamehameha. Clearly, he was preparing to activate Kaioken again and face his opponent.
"Zilong, a friendly reminder: you can use Solar Flare to create an opening, then use the Artificial Moon to trigger Great Ape Transformation. Your power will multiply, and it won't take as much of a toll as Kaioken. Your transformation increases your battle power twentyfold! And don't forget to use some of your spatial abilities, too." Xiao Ling's voice sounded beside Zhou Zilong's ear, like the staunchest support.
Right, how could I forget that move? I guess I'm still short on combat experience because I haven't fought enough real battles! Zhou Zilong thought. He took a deep breath and spread his fingers. In an instant, dazzling light burst from his palms, illuminating the entire wreckage. This was the legendary Solar Flare.
Under the blinding light, Kazer had no choice but to close his eyes to protect them.
Taking advantage of the brief moment of blindness, Zhou Zilong swiftly used the Flight Technique, darting through the air like a ghost before landing safely in a relatively secure spot. Once he touched down, he turned his left palm upward and began to form the Artificial Moon. A round ball of light, with a small blue outer ring and a larger inner ring, took shape in his hand.
As Kazer drew closer, Zhou Zilong pretended to attack and threw the ball. Seeing it fly toward him, Kazer tilted his head slightly and dodged it.
"Now even your last attack has missed. Be a good boy and become my nourishment!" Kazer said to Zhou Zilong in the tone of a hunter, now standing before him.
"I've been rebellious since I was a kid. I never listen to what other people say. And you look like the kind of guy I wouldn't listen to anyway, so there's even less chance I'll take your advice!" Zhou Zilong said, glancing toward the ball of light.
"Hmph. You're still mouthing off when you're about to die!" Kazer sneered, his eyes full of scorn and mockery.
"Just you wait, big lizard!" Zhou Zilong's words brimmed with defiance and stubbornness. An unusual light shone in his eyes—the desire to win.
Kazer furrowed his brow, his confusion growing. He couldn't understand how Zhou Zilong could possibly turn the tide. Then, in the very next moment, an astonishing transformation began.
Amid the wreckage, Zhou Zilong gazed at the warm glow of the ball of light. His body began to change. Brown-black fur gradually covered his skin, his muscles swelled, and his frame rapidly expanded as if inflating like a balloon. At last, he transformed into a gigantic Great Ape, forty meters tall.
"Damn it, I never expected this guy to be a Saiyan! No wonder he was so confident!" Kazer exclaimed in shock, instantly understanding everything.
"But I remember Frieza wiped out the Saiyans years ago. And I never heard of any Saiyan that powerful back then. Could he be that genius warrior who was exiled?" Kazer muttered, a jumble of emotions churning inside him.
"I see. That ball of light wasn't meant to attack me—it was an artificial moon!" There was a note of relief in Kazer's voice, but even more wariness toward this unknown power. He knew Saiyans gained astonishing strength under a full moon, and this suddenly appearing "moon" was clearly part of Zhou Zilong's careful plan to increase his battle power.
Without hesitating, Kazer swiftly gathered all the energy in his body. Light blazed between his hands as a dazzling orb took shape. He swung his arms forward, sending it slicing through the air toward the energy sphere hanging in the sky.
Kazer was clearly trying to destroy the energy sphere. He knew something about Saiyan traits, but his attack was like a stone sinking into the sea—it had no effect at all.
"Big lizard, you may be stronger than me in my normal state, but I'm sorry to tell you that I infused the artificial moon with an energy shield when I created it. Your battle power isn't even thirty times my own, so you can't break through it," Zhou Zilong said after completing his Great Ape Transformation.
The blue ring of energy was the Energy Shield Zhou Zilong had infused into the artificial moon. After learning a little of the defensive principles in a book he had exchanged for through Xiao Ling, his super system, he had developed the technique. Testing had shown that it could withstand an attack thirty times as powerful as his own. Of course, the Energy Shield couldn't remain active for the entire battle; it had a time limit. The more energy he put into it, the longer it lasted.
"I have to get off the spaceship as quickly as possible. He's grown enormous, and there isn't enough room inside for him to move freely!" Seeing Zhou Zilong charge, Kazer quickly assessed the situation.
Just as that fist, bigger than a sandbag, was about to hit him, Kazer narrowly dodged it. Zhou Zilong's punch easily smashed a deep crater into the ground, shaking the entire spaceship. The force seemed capable of tearing apart the very fabric of space, making everything around them tremble.
"Damn monkey! I'll let you off this time. I'm leaving now. Once I'm strong enough, I'll make you my nourishment!" Kazer said defiantly as he took to the air.
However, just as Kazer thought he had escaped, an invisible force suddenly enveloped him, holding him fast in midair. He couldn't move, and no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free.
"I knew you'd try to run. I used Spatial Bind on you. Now you're like a fish on a chopping board. It's time to end this fight!" Zhou Zilong's deep, commanding voice rang in Kazer's ear. He slowly approached and opened his enormous hands, large enough to blot out the sky.
Kazer's face turned as pale as paper. He knew he was now helpless, at Zhou Zilong's mercy, but his instinct to survive kept him from giving up. "I never expected a Saiyan like you to have such unusual abilities. How about this? I'll tell you a secret if you let me go!" He tried to trade information for his freedom, a crafty glint in his eyes.
"You're in no position to bargain with me!" Zhou Zilong's voice was cold as ice. He knew that in the world of Dragon Ball, he couldn't afford to show mercy to his enemies. He continued to advance, his enormous hands poised to crush anything in their way.
