However, at this life-or-death moment, Kazer showed no fear. Instead, he looked at Brot with a strange expression and slowly said, "If I'm not mistaken, you're Brot!"
His words rang like thunder. Zhou Zilong stopped attacking, and a flicker of confusion crossed his blood-red eyes in his Great Ape Transformation. "Oh? How do you know my Saiyan name?"
In the memories of the altered timeline that Xiao Ling, his super system, had given him, Zhou Zilong had gained some memories that he hadn't originally had. But he clearly remembered that those memories contained no giant lizard from the Scale-Head Race named Kazer.
"Because I helped the Saiyans for a while back then, so I know quite a bit about what happened..." Kazer's voice carried a hint of age. He continued, recounting the history sealed away by time—and pleading for a chance to survive.
"When you were born, your power level was one thousand. You were hailed as a rare genius among warriors, so as soon as you were old enough to move around, you were sent on missions. As you grew older, your Saiyan traits kicked in. At just five years old, your power level had already reached— But King Vegeta feared that if you continued to grow, you'd threaten his position. So he secretly exiled you under the pretext of sending you to carry out a mission far away. Afraid you'd return to take revenge someday, King Vegeta tampered with your spaceship. It should have exploded in space, but somehow you survived. How about we join forces and rule the universe?"
"Are you done? Playing the sympathy card won't work. If you're finished, I'll send you on your way!" Brot's voice was cold and resolute. Without changing expression, he grabbed Kazer and crushed him in his hand, then blasted him with a mouth beam until not a trace remained.
Zhou Zilong then burst through the ship and wiped out the remaining members of the Scale-Head Race. At last, the battle was over.
"I've already smashed their crystal. Time to change back to normal!" Zhou Zilong muttered as he prepared to end his Great Ape Transformation.
"Zilong, I suggest you wait a little. Try combining your Great Ape Transformation with your normal form using what you learned through the Fusion Law. You might get an unexpected result!" Just then, Xiao Ling—the cheat system that always gave Zhou Zilong guidance at crucial moments—broke the silence with its sweet, warm voice.
"Okay, I'll give it a try!" Zhou Zilong replied. He found a quiet place, sat cross-legged, and closed his eyes to focus. In the depths of his consciousness, a vast, boundless space slowly unfolded—the stage where he could commune with power.
Soon, two completely different figures appeared in his mind: one was Zhou Zilong in his normal form, dressed in black with a cold expression; the other was a golden-tinged Great Ape, much like the one he became in his transformation.
Zhou Zilong chuckled to himself, then focused and tried to guide the two forces with his mind. He imagined them as two rushing rivers that, guided by some mysterious power, slowly converged into one mightier torrent. But his first attempt didn't go well. The two forces repelled each other like opposite magnetic poles, snapping apart again and again.
Undeterred, he tried fusing them once more. But just like before, they sprang apart again.
What Zhou Zilong didn't notice as he sat cross-legged was a subtle change. At the moment of the second attempt, his Great Ape face briefly flickered, reverting to his original, handsome features—though not one-trillionth as handsome as all of you dear readers, of course.
"Ugh, this fusion is such a headache!" After failing several more times, Zhou Zilong rubbed his temples.
After a few more attempts, he murmured to himself, "I still have to guide the two forces together to fuse them!"
So, he decided to try the most unbelievable method—role-playing. He fully immersed himself in the mysterious consciousness and in the heart of the ferocious Great Ape. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, as though crossing the barriers of time and space into a strange realm built from his own mind.
In that realm, Zhou Zilong first met the figure from his consciousness—a seemingly ordinary boy with an extraordinary will. He smiled gently and enveloped the boy in a warm, spring-breeze-like aura, as if whispering, "Hey, friend, let's dance together!"
Next, he turned to face the roaring Great Ape. His eyes gleamed with mischief as he infused it with the same gentle energy, as though saying, "Big guy, don't be so fierce. Come on, let's play together!"
When he tried fusing them again, a miracle happened. Under Zhou Zilong's guidance, the two forces that had repelled each other began to intertwine, like the brightest stars in the night sky shining upon one another. The Great Ape's ferocity gradually mellowed under the boy's resilience, while the boy's power grew more substantial with the Great Ape's primal energy.
At that moment, Zhou Zilong's Great Ape body, still seated cross-legged, began to shrink. His Great Ape face also started to change back into his original one.
But just as he thought he'd succeeded, the force seemed to be playing around, and his face shifted toward its Great Ape form once more. Unfazed, Zhou Zilong took up the role of guide again, leading the two forces through one "Fusion Dance" after another with his own unique rhythm.
Back and forth they went. The two hours seemed like an endless hip-hop party, and Zhou Zilong's body kept shifting between man and ape. Each change came with his hearty laughter and self-mockery. "Haha, looks like I still need to practice this Fusion Dance!"
