After reaching Pilaf's castle, Little Goku pushed open the tightly shut front gate, and the group went inside.
Just like in the original story, Goku and the others were attacked by all sorts of traps as soon as they entered.
But thanks to Little Goku and Yamcha's quick reflexes, as well as help from Iris, who knew a little martial arts, the group made it through many of the traps without trouble.
Still, just like in the original story, they eventually got trapped in a small space formed when a trap came down.
Meanwhile, Mai and Shu immediately left the castle and began searching the car Yamcha had left behind.
"King Pilaf, we searched everywhere, but didn't find anything. It looks like they brought the Dragon Balls with them," Mai reported after she and Shu finished searching and returned inside.
"Then we'll bring them in one by one and search them!" Pilaf said at once.
After that, Pilaf and his crew sprang into action. Just like in the original story, they first grabbed someone and brought them in for questioning.
But, as in the original story, the first person they caught didn't have the Dragon Ball they were looking for, so they let Iris go.
Mai suddenly spoke up. "King Pilaf, questioning them one by one is too slow. Why don't we release some sleeping gas? Then we can go in and search them directly. Wouldn't that be easier?"
Seeing that Mai made a good point, Pilaf immediately pressed a button. Yellow gas suddenly began filling the place where Goku and the others were trapped.
Before long, Goku and the others had inhaled so much gas containing sleep-inducing particles that they passed out. They collapsed on the floor in various sleeping positions.
Soon afterward, Pilaf and his crew arrived. Mai quickly found the last Dragon Ball on Little Goku.
Back in the entertainment room Zhou Zilong had brought out, Bulma had grown tired from playing. As she rested, she asked Zhou Zilong, "Zilong, are we really okay staying here and playing longer? We mustn't miss it!"
Feeling that Shenron was about to appear, Zhou Zilong replied, "You rest here for a while. I'll go check on what's happening!"
Bulma nodded. "Mm. Be careful!"
Back in Pilaf's castle, Pilaf had woken up (he'd gone in without a mask and inhaled a little gas). When he saw the seven Dragon Balls, he could hardly contain his excitement.
After going outside and hiding in an open area, Zhou Zilong muttered, "All I have to do is wait here for Pilaf and his crew to show up!"
In the stone chamber where they were trapped, Iris woke up and realized that the bag holding the Dragon Balls was gone. She shook Little Goku, who was sleeping beside Yamcha. "Goku, wake up! Your Dragon Balls are gone!"
After Iris shook him over and over, her voice growing louder with each call, Little Goku finally opened his eyes and said, "You're so noisy!"
"Whew... whew... whew!" Yamcha woke up at that moment, darted to the side, and began panting heavily.
It turned out that while Iris was shaking Little Goku, Yamcha had woken up and glanced over—only to see an unforgettable sight. His heart immediately began pounding.
Once they'd calmed down, they looked around and saw that the stone chamber door that had previously held them captive was open. Little Goku and the others began searching for a way out.
At a bend in the passage, Little Goku and the others ran into Pilaf and his crew. Knowing that the group was tough and that a direct fight would put them at a disadvantage, Pilaf immediately turned and ran into the room he and Mai and Shu had come from.
Little Goku and the others reached a fork in the passage and were still trying to decide which way to go when a huge iron ball suddenly rolled toward them.
After being repeatedly attacked by the iron ball, Little Goku and the others were forced back into the stone chamber and trapped inside again.
Only after making sure they couldn't get out did Pilaf have Mai and Shu carry the seven Dragon Balls outside to an open area.
"Goku, why not try using your Kamehameha?" After they'd tried everything they could in the stone chamber to no avail, Yamcha spoke to Little Goku.
Little Goku agreed, then asked, "Sure, no problem. But how do you know I can use the Kamehameha?"
Yamcha replied, "Because back then, I wanted to make a wish before you did once you found the Dragon Balls, so I secretly followed you. I saw you learn that move!"
Little Goku was too simple-minded to hold it against him. He immediately struck the Kamehameha pose. "Ka... me... ha... me... ha!" Energy began gathering in his hands.
With a "Pong!" Little Goku's Kamehameha struck the wall with a loud bang. But, just like in the original story, all it did was leave a small hole in it.
Yamcha leaned close to his companion Puar and whispered, "Puar, hurry and transform into a small animal that can fly. Get out and help me make my wish!"
"Pom!" Puar nodded, then immediately transformed into a small bat and flew out through the hole.
Meanwhile, when Zhou Zilong still hadn't shown up, Oolong—who had his own plans—immediately flew outside too.
"Come forth, Shenron!" In the open area, as the seven Dragon Balls glowed brightly, Pilaf chanted the words to summon Shenron.
In an instant, the already dim sky grew dark, and clouds gathered overhead.
The seven Dragon Balls were immediately enveloped in a yellow glow and shot up into the sky. A dragon-shaped creature began to take form within the light.
When the light faded, a dragon with glowing red eyes and a body of green and creamy yellow appeared, stretching across the sky. Hidden nearby, Zhou Zilong watched and knew that Shenron had appeared.
Shenron looked down at Pilaf and spoke its iconic words. "Speak your wish. No matter what it is, I can grant it—but you may only make one wish!"
Only after being stunned by Shenron did Pilaf finally react. Excitedly, he began, "Then... then I'll tell you my wish!"
A voice rang out beside Pilaf. "Your wish is too useless. Save it for another time. I'll make the wish this time!"
