"By the way, Lord Frieza, we received some information from Planet Beast. Apparently, there's a way to double one's battle power... That's all the signal we've picked up so far. We're still monitoring it to find out what it means," Berryblue added.
"Double one's battle power?" Frieza was taken aback.
"They might just be making things up," Berryblue said, scratching her head.
"Here's what I want you to do. Send a message to Vegeta and the others, and tell them to return to Planet Vegeta immediately." Frieza considered it for a moment, then ordered Berryblue.
"Are you going to wipe them all out at once, Lord Frieza?" Berryblue asked with a smile.
"For some reason, I suddenly have a bad feeling..." Frieza's brows furrowed slightly as he murmured, "I feel like a Saiyan is growing stronger... I don't know who!"
"Eh? Is it that Vegeta fellow?" Berryblue asked in surprise, then hurriedly replied, "I'll have someone send him a message right away and tell them to return to Planet Vegeta immediately!"
"Whoosh!"
A small spaceship streaked across the sky, leaving a bright trail in the vastness of space.
Bardock and his teammate Leek were aboard the spaceship.
"You're saying Frieza recalled all the Saiyans to Planet Vegeta?" Bardock furrowed his brows, a bad feeling stirring in his heart.
"Yeah! That bastard Frieza gave the order! I've never seen anything like this before!" Leek grumbled.
"Take off your Scouter before you start cursing. You don't want anyone overhearing you." Bardock glanced at Leek.
Leek's expression changed. Cold sweat trickled down his face as he hurriedly removed his Scouter.
"We're almost at Planet Vegeta. It's been a long time since we left!" Leek sighed.
By now, the two of them could see the pale blue planet in the distance.
"Yeah." Bardock nodded.
"We should've returned to Planet Vegeta after conquering Planet Cereal," Leek said with a soft sigh. "Instead, we went to that planet we just left. Soya and the others sure got lucky."
"It's nothing." Bardock smiled calmly.
"Look! It's Frieza's spaceship!" Leek suddenly glanced aside and spotted Frieza's spaceship circling near Planet Vegeta.
"It is... Why is it hovering here?" Bardock's brows furrowed, and his bad feeling grew stronger.
"Whoosh!"
The spaceship cut through the atmosphere and descended toward the surface of Planet Vegeta.
"Could Frieza be plotting something?" Bardock said gravely.
"Eh? Why would he? Hahahaha!" Leek laughed, not taking it seriously at all.
The spaceship's hatch opened.
Bardock and Leek climbed out and made their way into the town.
"Hey, Bardock! Long time no see. You're still alive!" a Saiyan called out with a laugh.
"Hey, do you know why they called us back?" Bardock asked.
"Who knows? I heard they found a huge planet and need a lot of people to take it down," the Saiyan guessed, then added, "Oh, and one more thing. I heard the Frieza Force has been asking around about the Super Saiyan."
"The Super Saiyan?" Bardock was taken aback. "The Legendary Super Saiyan?"
"Yeah." The Saiyan nodded.
Bardock said nothing more and headed straight home.
Planet Vegeta was enormous, but there were only a few thousand Saiyans left—fewer than ten thousand.
The Saiyans were a warrior race, and they often went off to fight.
Naturally, going to war meant casualties.
As a result, the Saiyan population had dwindled considerably by now.
"Gine, I'm home!" Bardock returned to his house.
"Bardock!" Gine was overcome with excitement.
The couple embraced warmly.
"The streets are really lively," Bardock remarked.
"Yeah, everyone's back," Gine said with a sweet smile.
"Where's Raditz?" Bardock asked.
"He's become a combatant. He went to another planet with Prince Vegeta as his partner," Gine replied. "He left about seven or eight days ago... He should be back once they've taken care of things there."
"Prince Vegeta?" Bardock froze, then gave a dry laugh. "He's partnered up with someone that troublesome?"
"Raditz said that fighting alongside a genius warrior would help him improve his battle power faster," Gine said with a smile. "Oh, I heard that a combatant named Soya is on their team, too. Didn't Soya team up with you before?"
"Soya? That guy... He loves to do things recklessly... I just hope nothing happens to Raditz's team." Bardock's mouth twitched.
"Is that so? Is he really that reckless?" Gine asked, taken aback.
"What about Kakarot? Is he still in the Incubator?" Bardock didn't continue talking about Soya.
They went into the room at the back.
There was a container filled with a strange liquid inside.
Three-year-old Kakarot floated in the container, fast asleep.
"He's gotten so big," Bardock said with a sigh.
"Yeah, he looks just like you, especially that distinctive hairstyle." Gine gazed at Kakarot in the container with tenderness.
"After dark, I'll get a spherical spaceship and send this child off to another planet." Bardock spoke thoughtfully.
"Eh? Why would you do that? And why make him risk becoming an exile?" Gine was utterly confused.
"It's for Kakarot's own good," Bardock said in a low voice.
"What do you mean?" Gine was even more perplexed.
"I have a bad feeling about whatever Frieza is plotting... I have a premonition that I'm going to die!" Bardock bared his teeth, his heart growing heavier.
Cold sweat trickled down Gine's pretty face.
That night.
Bardock carried a spherical mini-spaceship, placed Kakarot inside, and took him out into the night sky.
Gine followed closely beside him.
When they reached an open area, Bardock set the spaceship down on the ground.
"Come to think of it, the fact that you're worried about your own child is so unlike a Saiyan," Gine said, feeling a little touched.
"Maybe your innocence rubbed off on me," Bardock replied.
Inside the spaceship, Kakarot seemed to realize something was happening. He cried nonstop, his little hands repeatedly smacking the spaceship's walls.
"Kakarot, stop fussing!" Bardock said.
"Bardock, let's run away together," Gine suggested. She stepped forward, gently tapped the spaceship, and made a funny face at Kakarot.
Kakarot grinned foolishly.
