"Set out! We're going to take down Frieza!" Vegeta waved his little hand, brimming with fighting spirit. The cape behind him billowed as if it had a fan built in.
An hour passed in the blink of an eye.
Vegeta and Raditz sat limply on the ground like wilted eggplants, cold sweat pouring off them.
Vegeta's power level had dropped all the way to 750.
Raditz had only 140 left.
They looked at each other, feeling wave after wave of weakness.
Raditz: "..."
That familiar feeling of being completely drained...
"Hmph, damn side effects!" Vegeta thought, deeply annoyed.
If only he could keep his power level at 300,000.
"So even if Frieza doesn't drink the Battle God Water, as long as I, Vegeta, drink it, I can pin him to the ground and grind him into the dirt!" Vegeta laughed more and more brightly, then ordered loudly, "It'll take us nearly seven days to reach Frieza's spaceship from here. We have plenty of time."
Soya, however, said nothing. He walked over to the spaceship's control center and rapidly tapped at the keyboard with both hands.
"Click!"
Soya pressed a key that looked like Enter.
"Whoosh!"
The spaceship changed course in the vastness of space and sped off in a different direction.
Soya felt like he'd really lost his mind.
Why challenge Frieza when there was no need?
Shouldn't he be out farming Negative Emotion Points instead?
"Y-you... What are you doing, Soya?" Raditz noticed the spaceship had changed course and turned to ask him.
Vegeta raised an eyebrow too, unsure what Soya was up to.
"Are you going back to pick up Nappa?" Raditz asked in surprise when he realized the spaceship was heading toward Planet Beast.
"I'm not going to Frieza's. The two of you are on your own." Soya shook his head.
"Huh? Why?" Raditz was bewildered. "You were the one who suggested we go defeat Frieza. Why aren't you going now?"
"If Frieza were the only one we had to deal with, we'd have a good chance of defeating him. But now Cooler's in the picture too, and our odds of winning are slim." Soya sighed softly.
"Prince Vegeta's power level has already reached 300,000, while Frieza's is only a little over 200,000. His brother can't be more than 250,000. You should have some faith in Prince Vegeta," Raditz hurriedly urged.
"What? Soya, you think I can't beat that bastard Frieza?" Vegeta snorted, his face pale with anger.
"Do you know what Frieza's power level is?" Soya asked.
"Hmph, how high could it be? Wasn't I clear just now? At most, a little over 200,000!" Vegeta scoffed.
"As far as I know, Frieza's power level is 530,000." Soya took a deep breath and revealed Frieza's power level.
"Y-you said what? 530,000?! Are you kidding me?" Vegeta was stunned, his voice rising an octave as he cried out in disbelief.
"You were the one joking when you said Frieza's power level was only 200,000." Soya rolled his eyes and shot back.
Vegeta: "..."
"Vegeta gained 666 Negative Emotion Points!"
"Really? Is Frieza that terrifying?" Raditz's expression changed again and again.
A power level of 530,000!
That was way too terrifying!
If that was true, we had no hope of winning.
"Hmph, that's impossible!" Vegeta said, deeply skeptical.
"And that's not all. Frieza can transform, and each transformation increases his power level dramatically," Soya said solemnly. "His second form is around a million or more, his third form is two million, and his fourth form is three million!"
Vegeta was utterly dumbfounded, his mouth hanging open as he struggled to say anything.
Raditz was trembling all over with fear.
A power level of three million?
You've got to be kidding. How could anyone be that powerful?
"Don't be shocked just yet. I haven't finished," Soya continued.
Raditz: "..."
Vegeta: "..."
The two of them were stunned all over again.
"Y-you mean... his true power level isn't just three million?" Raditz's mouth twitched uncontrollably.
"Frieza's true power level... Forget it. I'd better not say." Soya cut himself off halfway through.
"Vegeta gained 999 Negative Emotion Points!"
"Raditz gained 666 Negative Emotion Points!"
Vegeta and Raditz were at a loss for words.
He'd gotten them curious, only to say he wouldn't tell them.
"Why won't you say?" Raditz asked, puzzled.
"I'm afraid it'll scare you to death. Your power levels are so low right now that it really wouldn't take much to give you a fright." Soya sighed.
"Vegeta gained 999 Negative Emotion Points!"
"Raditz gained 777 Negative Emotion Points!"
"Just tell us! We can take it!" Raditz gritted his teeth.
"Hmph, no matter what you say, I won't believe you!" Vegeta snorted.
"Then I won't tell you!" Soya grinned.
Vegeta ground his teeth in frustration.
"Vegeta gained 999 Negative Emotion Points!"
This guy was infuriating!
And he was taking advantage of Vegeta's weakness to bully him!
Back when Vegeta's power level was higher than his, Soya hadn't dared say a word.
How shameless!
"Anyway, Frieza's power level far exceeds anything you can imagine. He's just a tiny bit stronger than you, so I'd advise you not to go over there and get yourselves killed." Soya sighed, speaking earnestly.
"A tiny bit stronger? It's not just a little! If his power level really is three million, how can you call that a tiny bit?" Raditz shook his head and seriously corrected him.
Your choice of words is a little off.
"A tiny bit—as in the 'hundred million' in hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred millions." Soya replied.
Raditz was dumbfounded, unable to say anything.
"Y-you said what?" Vegeta cried out.
"You mean... Frieza's power level is over a hundred million?" Vegeta's expression stiffened as he quickly understood.
"That's right." Soya nodded.
"Stop joking around. That isn't funny at all!" Vegeta snorted, deeply skeptical.
"I knew you wouldn't believe me. So if you want to go beat Frieza, go ahead. I have my own business to take care of!" Soya decided to part ways with Vegeta and Raditz.
"Huh? Soya, where are you going? I'll go with you," Raditz said urgently.
I don't want to go with Vegeta to defeat Frieza.
Whatever Frieza's power level is—even if it's only 200,000, my own power level isn't worth mentioning.
I'd be better off going with Soya. Maybe there'll be a surprise in store.
