Killing Raditz

"No!"

Goku cried out in anguish.

Raditz was just about to strike Gohan.

"Whoosh!"

A rush of wind sounded as a shadow appeared in an instant.

Raditz stared in shock.

"Impossible!"

Gohan had vanished right before his eyes!

"Glad I wasn't too late."

Li Feng let out a long breath.

His mission was to kill Raditz, but Gohan couldn't die here.

His power level was only 1,005, not enough to match Raditz, so he'd had to rely on Gohan's furious attack to weaken him.

Just like in the original story, Gohan had unleashed his power and slammed into Raditz, leaving him badly injured.

"Who... who are you?"

Piccolo asked, cold sweat running down his face.

They'd been fighting this whole time, and yet someone had slipped into the battlefield without a sound and rescued Gohan right in front of them!

"My name's Li Feng. I'm here to help you." Li Feng briefly introduced himself.

"Hello, Mr. Li Feng. Thank you for saving us. Hurry, take Gohan and get away from here. That man is dangerous!"

Goku struggled to his feet. After thanking Li Feng for saving Gohan, he urged him to take the boy and leave.

"He was dangerous until just now, yes. But that may not be true anymore."

Li Feng said no more. He stamped his right foot down, and the ground caved in at once, sending a gust of air surging outward. Then he shot toward Raditz at nearly supersonic speed.

"So fast! He's incredibly strong!" Piccolo exclaimed.

"Yeah! Who knew there was someone this strong besides Raditz?" Goku said, both tense and excited.

"Damn... you!"

Enraged and humiliated by Li Feng's brazen approach, Raditz had no choice but to try to kill him.

"Bang!"

But the serious injuries he'd sustained when Gohan rammed into him had cut his power level in half. He couldn't dodge Li Feng's charge at all.

Li Feng kicked him nearly a hundred meters away. The brutal blow shattered his chest armor.

"Beep, beep, beep..."

"Power level: 1,005!"

Raditz's Scouter displayed Li Feng's power level.

"Who are you?" Raditz asked, shocked and furious. He couldn't believe someone with a power level over a thousand had suddenly appeared here!

"The one who's going to kill you," Li Feng said coldly.

Li Feng accelerated again and charged toward Raditz.

"Die!" Raditz gritted his teeth, enduring the pain of his wounds as he formed a ball of purple energy in each hand and fired them at Li Feng!

"Fwhoosh—"

"Boom!"

The two blasts slammed into Li Feng, raising a cloud of smoke.

"Hahahaha! Where'd this brat come from, thinking he can take on the world?"

Seeing that Li Feng had been hit, Raditz laughed arrogantly.

"What? Li Feng got hit?"

Goku was startled. Dragging his badly injured body, he headed toward the explosion.

"Wait. It's not that simple."

Piccolo kept his eyes fixed on the cloud of smoke. He couldn't believe Li Feng would go down so easily.

"Phew! That stung a little!"

The smoke cleared, and a powerful figure emerged from within it.

Li Feng stood with his arms raised to block the attack. The energy blasts had only scraped his forearms.

He'd deliberately taken Raditz's attack to test his body's defenses.

His gamble had paid off. Raditz's ultimate attack, with his power level now below 800, couldn't hurt him!

"Phew..." Li Feng let out a long breath.

"H-how is this possible?!"

Raditz was drenched in cold sweat. His strongest attack hadn't even knocked Li Feng down!

"Die!—"

Panicking, Raditz stopped gathering energy into large blasts. Instead, he fired ordinary Flash Bullets at Li Feng like a machine gun.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!..."

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Li Feng knew that Raditz was the perfect test of how well he understood his own power level!

He needed to get used to fighting as quickly as possible!

Faced with the Ki Blasts flying at him, Li Feng stayed calm. The sudden increase in his power level had greatly improved his reflexes and eyesight.

The speeding blasts seemed to move several times slower to him, and he could easily make out their trajectories.

He dodged them with nimble footwork.

"S-so powerful!" Piccolo swallowed as he watched the figure slowly advance through the smoke.

"Li Feng really is strong! I've got to get stronger too!"

Seeing Li Feng unharmed, Goku relaxed. At the same time, his Saiyan fighting spirit flared.

Raditz unleashed Prince Trick, but the figure that had been dozens of meters away didn't fall. It kept drawing closer. The threat of death made him tremble uncontrollably.

"No! That's impossible! How could this happen?!" Raditz had begun to fear Li Feng.

As his energy continued pouring out, Li Feng kept dodging, gradually feeling his body grow accustomed to this speed.

Every so often, he deliberately let a Ki Blast hit him, strengthening his body's resistance to blows.

Li Feng wasn't a masochist, of course. But while he was still getting used to his immense power, he needed to put himself through his paces.

Raditz was the perfect test.

As Li Feng dodged Raditz's Ki Blasts, he steadily closed the distance between them.

Once he was close enough, he threw a punch at Raditz's face!

"Pfft!" Several of Raditz's teeth flew out, and his body was hurled backward as if struck by a cannonball.

The tremendous impact shattered a mountain peak.

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

Raditz was gravely injured now, and more than anything, he feared the mysterious, powerful man before him. "That's about enough. Time to finish you off."

Li Feng could feel that Raditz's energy had weakened considerably.

"No! No! You can't kill me!"

Raditz hurriedly begged for mercy.

"You're so powerful, you could join our squad! My two teammates are strong too. They'll come to Earth in a year!"

"Don't believe him, Li Feng!"

Piccolo worried that Li Feng might show the same misplaced kindness Goku had earlier and let Raditz escape again.

Li Feng recalled the Kamehameha he'd seen Goku and the others use in Dragon Ball, and wanted to see if he could perform it himself.

He gathered all his ki and brought his hands behind him. Before long, he felt energy surging from his palms and gradually forming a blue sphere.

"Ka!"

The sphere grew larger, and blue light spilled between his fingers, illuminating the surroundings.

"Is that a Kamehameha?!"

Seeing Li Feng strike a familiar pose, Goku exclaimed in surprise.

"Me!"

Li Feng gathered more and more of his ki, compressing it between his hands.

"That's right, Goku. Is he a disciple of the Turtle School too?" Piccolo asked in confusion.

"Ha!"

The energy in Li Feng's hands grew stronger and stronger!

"Me!"

The power was ready! Li Feng thrust both hands forward!

"No! Vegeta and Nappa—my other two comrades won't let you get away with this!" Raditz shouted in despair.

"Boom!—"

A thick, brilliant blue beam erupted!

The shock wave blasted through rocks of every kind and struck Raditz directly. His body melted away in an instant, while the beam's unspent power shot straight into the sky!

"Ding! Congratulations, host! You have completed the mission: Defeat Raditz."

"Mission reward: Saiyan bloodline!"
