Return to Earth

A flash of red light, and Shenron used his divine power once more.

"Your wishes have all been granted. Farewell."

Another flash of red light passed, and Shenron disappeared. The sky returned to normal, and the seven Dragon Balls turned to stone and scattered in every direction.

"Mr. Li Feng, your wishes have all been granted. Please allow us to thank you sincerely once again."

Nail bowed again.

He knew how fierce the battle had been. If Li Feng hadn't defeated that demon, Namek would have ceased to exist.

Li Feng had killed Frieza, avenging the people of Namek. He had also made two wishes to Shenron to restore Namek to its original state. This was an enormous kindness.

"It's all right. Give Grand Elder Guru our regards. We should be leaving now, too."

Li Feng waved his hand.

"Hmph. Earth? I have no desire to return to that barren place."

Vegeta snorted.

"Don't flatter yourself, Vegeta. I never said we were going to Earth."

Li Feng smiled.

"There's a place that's naturally suited for fighting. I'll be training there later."

"What? Really? Li Feng, you have to take me with you!"

At the mention of training, Goku's eyes lit up, and he hurriedly asked Li Feng to bring him along.

"Damn it, Kakarot! Don't think you can sneak off on your own. Wait, Li Feng, I'm going too!"

When Vegeta heard about the training, he got anxious too. Forgetting his pride, he immediately swallowed it and asked Li Feng to take him along.

"That's easy. We're going to Planet Yardrat."

"But before that, let's return to Earth. Our family and friends there must have been worried for a long time."

Li Feng smiled.

Then he flew toward the spaceship.

"I also learned a technique earlier called Instant Transmission. It can take us straight back to Earth."

He pressed the button on the outside of the spaceship. With a whoosh, it transformed into a Capsule, which Li Feng tucked into his pocket.

"Something like that is possible?"

Piccolo exclaimed in surprise.

"Put your hands on my shoulders."

Li Feng silently sensed Earth's ki.

"Hmph."

Vegeta was curious about Li Feng's Instant Transmission too, but he stubbornly placed his hand on Li Feng's shoulder.

Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo did the same.

"Found it."

Although Earth was a long way off, the ki of Krillin and the others was fairly easy to recognize compared to everyone else's.

"Whoosh!"

The group vanished in an instant.

Earth, West City.

"Come on, Chi-Chi, don't worry about them. Li Feng and the others are so strong; they're sure to defeat the enemy."

Krillin tried to comfort Chi-Chi.

"But Gohan is still so young. What if something happens to him...? Waaaah..."

After only a couple of sentences, Chi-Chi was crying in Bulma's arms again.

"It's all right, Chi-Chi. They'll come back safe and sound."

Bulma comforted her softly, too.

This had to be the Nth time. The first month had been manageable, but during the second, Chi-Chi had come by to complain almost every day. Bulma was at a loss, so she had called Krillin and the other Z Fighters over, too.

But Bulma's own worry and longing for Li Feng had been growing day by day.

"Whoosh!"

A gust of wind swept by.

Five figures appeared on the ground.

"Huh? This really is Earth!"

Goku scratched his head, amazed by Li Feng's Instant Transmission.

"Ah, Mom!"

Gohan saw Chi-Chi and immediately ran over to her.

"Huh? Am I seeing things? Is that Gohan? Gohan! My Gohan! Waaaah!"

Chi-Chi hugged Gohan, and tears of worry and joy poured from her eyes.

"Bulma, I'm back."

Li Feng greeted Bulma, too.

The moment she saw that familiar figure, Bulma could no longer hold back her longing. Like a swallow returning to its nest, she flew into Li Feng's arms.

"You jerk! You were gone for so long—"

Feeling Bulma embrace him, Li Feng sensed her love and longing and hurried to reassure her.

"But I came back safe and sound, didn't I? Everything's all right now..."

Li Feng comforted her.

"Hmph!"

Unable to stand the scene, Vegeta left by himself.

He had promised Li Feng earlier that he would train on Planet Yardrat. While on Earth, he couldn't harm innocent people or recklessly destroy the planet anymore.

Piccolo left on his own, too. He knew that Planet Yardrat wasn't the right place for him. This trip to Namek had also brought his wish to fulfillment. From now on, he would train alone; he didn't want to fall behind those Saiyans again.

"Huh? Isn't that Vegeta? Why did that demon come back with you?"

Krillin only then realized that Vegeta had returned with them.

"It's all right. He's no longer a threat to us."

Li Feng told everyone about their trip to Namek.

When they heard there had been an enemy on Namek even more terrifying than Vegeta, they felt a surge of fear and tension.

But when they heard that Li Feng had become a Super Saiyan, they were thrilled and excited.

Bulma, especially, kept both arms wrapped around Li Feng's. Though she hadn't been there and had only listened in silence, she could still imagine how dangerous things had been. She couldn't help holding him tighter, silently expressing her unease and worry.

"That's what happened. In a month, we'll be going to Planet Yardrat to train."

After finishing his account of the trip to Namek, Li Feng also explained his plans for the future.

"What? You're leaving again so soon?"

Bulma squeezed Li Feng even tighter and frowned.

"We still have a whole month. I'll spend it with you."

After Li Feng reassured Bulma, she finally agreed.

"Then, to celebrate everyone's safe return, dinner's on me! Eat and drink your fill!"

As the richest person on Earth, Bulma showed off her generosity. With a grand wave of her hand, a variety of household robots appeared and began preparing all kinds of delicious food.

"All right!"

Everyone cheered and joined in.

As Saiyans, they ate as much as a Great Ape after transforming. Li Feng, Goku, and Gohan had bottomless appetites. The three of them ate enough for hundreds of people and still didn't stop. Eventually, Vegeta came over, too, unwilling to be outdone in the art of eating, and joined the feast. He only left after he was full.

After the festivities, Chi-Chi dragged Goku away by the ear, taking Gohan with her. The others went home, too. Before long, only the Brief family and Li Feng remained outside.

"Oh my, it's late. We should get some rest, too. Good night, Bulma, Li Feng."

Mrs. Brief smiled as she took her husband's hand and left.

"Good night, Aunt Mrs. Brief. Good night, Mr. Brief."

"Good night, Dad, Mom."

Bulma and Li Feng exchanged a smile, then quietly went inside.

That night, Bulma poured out all her longing, worry, frustration, excitement, and joy to Li Feng. As a strong Saiyan, Li Feng embraced all of it, and the two once again experienced the transcendence of life...
