King Cold led his army to the outer reaches of Planet Saiyan.
Old and shrewd, King Cold didn't rush to make his move, even though they had reached Planet Saiyan.
Aboard one of the large spaceships.
"Reporting, Your Majesty. The energy readings on Planet Vegeta are all weak. The highest is only 12,000 in battle power; the rest are around one."
King Cold watched Planet Saiyan through the ship's window, his brow furrowing. "Kurizu, are you sure?"
The one who had just reported was Kurizu, a frog-like alien and King Cold's personal intelligence officer.
King Cold's brow furrowed even more at the report.
For some reason, he couldn't shake the uneasy feeling in his heart. The Saiyans clearly had enough battle power to kill Frieza, yet the Scouter couldn't detect it now.
The results were exactly the same as the intelligence he'd previously received about the Saiyans' battle power. There hadn't been the slightest change!
That left him completely baffled. Could killing Frieza have been the result of some special Saiyan technique?
And could they only use this special technique once?
"Your Majesty, I've already sent people to scan them several times. The results are still exactly the same!" Kurizu replied firmly.
He firmly believed the Scouter couldn't be wrong.
In all the years he'd followed King Cold on his campaigns across the universe, the Scouter had never made a mistake.
Even so, King Cold pondered for a moment before issuing an order that no one present could understand.
"Kurizu, hear my command!"
"Your Majesty!"
"I order you to stay aboard the ship when we engage the Saiyans. Don't go down with the others. Just keep monitoring their battle power from here. If anything unexpected happens, remember: you must send the data to my eldest son, Cooler. Do you understand?"
"Huh? Yes! I understand, Your Majesty. But the Saiyans' highest battle power is only twelve thousand. There's no need for us to be so cautious, is there?"
"Don't ask why! Just carry out the order!"
"Yes! I'll complete the mission!"
Only then did King Cold nod in satisfaction. He turned to the others. "Pass on my command: land the ships immediately! Everyone else, get ready to fight. Use your full strength, and don't let overconfidence lead to disaster!"

King Cold's force was much smaller than the Frieza Force's, consisting of only three large spaceships.

The skies above Planet Saiyan grew brighter in an instant!
Roars rang out one after another, tearing through the sky.
Every Saiyan combatant transformed into a Great Ape.
"Warriors! Charge!!"
Vegeta III, transformed into a Great Ape, roared and surged into the sky at the head of the charge.

Thousands of Saiyan Great Apes launched themselves into the air, racing toward the heavens.
Even after transforming into Great Apes, the Saiyans could still control the intensity of their auras.
That was why, when Kurizu saw the Scouter readings aboard the ship, he was convinced the Saiyans would be wiped out and King Cold would avenge King Frieza.
"His Majesty is being far too cautious! Even as monkeys, the Saiyans only have a battle power of 120,000. They're no match for Zofield and the others!" Kurizu scoffed.
But he hadn't even had a few seconds to celebrate before one of his subordinates cried out in panic.
"Lord Kurizu, this is bad! Our soldiers are suffering heavy losses! And the Scouter just detected someone on the ground with a battle power of 800 million!"
"Lord Kurizu, this is bad! We can't detect His Majesty's battle power anymore!"
"What?!!!"
Kurizu completely lost his composure. His already enormous eyes widened even further, terror filling his gaze as cold sweat poured from him.
For a moment, he stood there dumbstruck, trembling all over.
Then he snapped out of it and shrieked at breakneck speed, "Quick, quick, quick! Send the message to King Cooler immediately!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Start the ship at once and escape from Planet Vegeta! Hurry up!"
"Yes!!"
Kurizu broke into a desperate sprint toward the ship's hatch, intending to seal it and flee!
But just as he reached the hatch, he saw a huge, gleaming white ball of energy hurtling toward them at incredible speed. Its target was their ship.
"No!!!"
Rumble!
The energy ball swallowed the ship in an instant. A series of deafening explosions followed, completely destroying it.
The one who had attacked the ship was Saigo!
Saigo had sensed someone aboard it and, to keep the enemy from escaping, had chosen to destroy it with a Super Ki Blast!
The other two large spaceships were empty, so Saigo had deliberately left them alone!
High above, Saigo surveyed the battlefield below and saw that the enemy was on the verge of defeat. Each of his warriors had found an opponent of roughly equal strength to fight.
Good! None of our people have died this time!
After sensing that no Saiyans had been killed, Saigo decided not to join the fight. He watched quietly from high above, sending a Ki Blast to help whenever a Saiyan Great Ape seemed to be losing.
Whenever he spotted an enemy trying to escape, he rewarded them with a Ki Blast!
Saigo gave King Cold the same treatment he'd given Frieza, with one difference: he gave King Cold a chance to speak.
Two minutes earlier.
Although King Cold had left the ship with the main force, he hadn't rushed to attack. Instead, he stayed on the sidelines, covering the others—or, more accurately, searching for the Saiyan who had killed Frieza.
He hadn't acted recklessly, which suited Saigo just fine. Seeing that no one was beside King Cold, Saigo flew straight toward him and stopped three or four meters away.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
"Hm? A battle power of 2.5 million. You're so young, yet you have such high battle power! Are you the one who killed Frieza?" The moment King Cold saw the battle power Saigo had deliberately released, he was astonished. He'd never imagined that a Saiyan could have such high battle power!
At the same time, he concluded that Saigo was Frieza's killer!
After all, none of the Great Ape Saiyans below had a battle power above five hundred thousand.
