History

Planet Sadala is remembered as the Saiyans' ancestral planet, though it no longer exists. The Saiyans later seized Planet Vegeta from the Tuffles; after Saigao became king, Planet Vegeta was renamed Planet Saiyan. 327

Before Saigao's rule, Saiyans were widely feared as violent spacefaring killers. Their society prioritized individual strength, and weak children—particularly low-class warriors—could be exiled to wild planets. 169 410 Their reputation was severe enough that the Guardian of Earth knew them through legends as a race of bloodthirsty killers. 63

Saigao's rise changed the race's direction. After Frieza's defeat, the Saiyans declared the beginning of the Saiyan Dynasty, a date later called the Day of the Old King's Rise. 22 Planet-wide martial instruction followed, with twenty elite warriors teaching Ki Control and efficient training across Planet Saiyan. 23

The reformed Saiyans were organized into the Saigao Legion, bound by the New Era Saiyan codes, and made collectively responsible for the empire's conduct. Saiyans who abused their strength, harmed families, or killed non-Saiyan legion members without cause were executed as an example. 47 The race subsequently became a leading force behind peaceful interstellar development and cooperation with other civilizations. 506
