In the memories of his past life, there was a saying.
When a Golden Great Ape regains its reason and bears the power of the Great Ape within a human body, that is the day the Super Saiyan 4 manifests.
But now, Son Gohan was born as an ape, and he felt quite apologetic about it.
It was true that he had maintained a clear state of mind.
However, he could not revert to human form while in the state of a Golden Great Ape to transform into the appearance of a Super Saiyan 4.
He felt as if something was missing.
And so, the transformation ended in failure.
Son Gohan was not discouraged, feeling that this was perfectly normal.
How long had it been since his rebirth? There was still a long road ahead in the future.
Nothing could be achieved overnight, nor could one reach the pinnacle of the universe in a single day.
The heaven-defying protagonist templates he had seen in his past life—those who signed in while still in the womb, punching Grand Zeno and kicking the Grand Priest the moment they were born—were destined to have nothing to do with him in this life.
All he could rely on was his foresight and his unremitting efforts.
An hour later, Son Gohan and Trunks reverted to their human forms once again.
They restrained themselves from looking at the full moon in the sky, otherwise, they would have to go through another round of transformation, and they wouldn't be able to sleep at all tonight.
After tossing and turning for half the night, both of them were exhausted.
Trunks simply decided not to go back and planned to stay the night at Son Gohan's house.
The two brothers rubbed their eyes as they returned to the front door.
At this moment, the Supreme Kai and Kibito, who had disappeared earlier, appeared out of thin air once more.
Trunks looked at these two strange fellows with vigilance, quietly clenching his fists.
He was prepared to give them a good beating.
As for Son Gohan, other than letting out a yawn, he did not show any expression of surprise.
Because he had long expected that the Supreme Kai and Kibito would return.
The Supreme Kai was terrified that Son Gohan would chase them away the moment they met, so he spoke in a hurry as soon as he appeared.
"I am sorry to disturb you both. I am the Supreme Kai of this universe. I have no ill intentions; I just wanted to make friends with you. Is that alright?"
Seeing the dignified Supreme Kai acting so humble, Kibito felt somewhat displeased, yet he was helpless to do anything about it.
Son Gohan, of course, knew he was the Supreme Kai.
The Supreme Kai's appearance and attire were so highly recognizable that it was hard not to identify him.
Son Gohan glanced at him and said with a yawn, "Oh, I see. But I'm really too sleepy today. Let's talk about whatever it is tomorrow."
He was sending them away just like that? Kibito found it inconceivable.
The Supreme Kai had clearly revealed his identity, after all.
"You..."
The Supreme Kai quickly stopped Kibito and said with a fawning smile, "Very well, you two rest first. We will come back tomorrow."
"Don't come too early, either. Come in the afternoon," Son Gohan said.
"Alright!" The Supreme Kai pulled Kibito away and they left quickly.
Watching the two disappear in an instant, Trunks, still confused about the situation, asked Son Gohan, "Brother Gohan, who exactly are those two?"
"Didn't he just say it? The Supreme Kai," Son Gohan said.
"A god? Is he a god like Brother Dende?" Trunks pressed.
"Trunks, I'm really sleepy. Let's talk about it tomorrow. Goodbye."
Saying this, Son Gohan ignored him further, walked into the bedroom, and without even taking off his clothes, collapsed and fell asleep (~o~)zZ.
"Which one of them has a higher divine rank, I wonder?"
Trunks was still pondering whether Kami or the Supreme Kai was greater.
Sacred World of the Kai.
The Supreme Kai sat in silence for a while, then said to Kibito:
"Kibito, go and investigate what has happened on Earth over these years."
"Also, find out who those two Saiyans really are."
"Yes, Supreme Kai." Kibito received the order and departed.
The next day, Son Gohan woke up at eight in the morning.
When he woke up, he found Trunks still curled up asleep on the sofa.
Son Gohan walked out and kicked him awake.
"Why didn't you sleep in the bedroom? Is it more comfortable to sleep on the sofa?"
Trunks rubbed his sleepy eyes and, after a few seconds of daze, said, "I was thinking about something last night and fell asleep here."
"Thinking? About what?" Son Gohan asked curiously.
"I was wondering who was higher, Kami or the Supreme Kai. I thought about it all night." Trunks still hadn't figured out whose divine status was greater.
"The Supreme Kai is higher than Kami," Son Gohan answered him.
"Really? I thought Dende was more powerful?"
"Stop thinking about it and go wash up quickly."
Son Gohan urged him to wash up.
Then the two of them grabbed something to eat and flew to West City.
Upon arriving at Capsule Corp, Son Gohan's first request was for Bulma to build a device that could emit Blutz Waves.
Bulma had no idea what Blutz Waves were and was completely confused.
Son Gohan had to explain the principle of Saiyans turning into Great Apes to her.
Bulma finally understood and agreed to make time to build the Blutz Wave Emitter.
Son Gohan asked, "Aunt Bulma, has the spaceship's energy been fully charged?"
Bulma replied, "Not yet, but it's reached 80%, it'll be soon."
Son Gohan said, "The spaceship's charging can wait. Let's focus on researching the Blutz Wave Emitter first."
Bulma was taken aback, "Uh, why?"
Son Gohan smiled, "80% energy is enough, and I've already found a better way. You can focus your efforts on researching the emitter and the time machine."
Found a better way?
What method could possibly replace a spaceship?
Bulma didn't understand, but she didn't ask further.
Shortly after lunch, Videl arrived again.
This time, Son Gohan didn't teach her anything. Instead, he let her practice the Flight Technique on the grass by herself.
Videl didn't say anything either. She gave Son Gohan a smiling glance and then happily went to practice.
Son Gohan didn't waste any time. He went into the Gravity Chamber, set the gravity to 500 times, and did 1000 push-ups with one finger as a warm-up.
Then he began his daily training of over two hours.
Two hours passed quickly. When he came out of the Gravity Chamber, Videl had already left.
And the person waiting for him had changed to the Supreme Kai and Kibito.
Upon meeting, the Supreme Kai smiled and said, "Mr. Gohan, we meet again."
"Yes, hello," Son Gohan greeted them with a smile.
He then took the Supreme Kai and Kibito to a dessert shop and had a robot bring them several desserts and iced drinks.
They ate and chatted.
Originally, the Supreme Kai and Kibito didn't want to eat these mortal foods, but they couldn't resist Son Gohan's enthusiasm. They took a small bite and then couldn't stop.
Son Gohan nodded with satisfaction as he watched their ignorant expressions, thinking to himself that Earth's cuisine was truly the best in the universe, not just for show.
He had them completely hooked.
Looking at them, Son Gohan smiled and asked, "Lord Supreme Kai, what can I do for you?"
The Supreme Kai hastily wiped the cream from the corner of his mouth and quickly regained his composure.
Then he said, "I told you last night, I want to be friends with Mr. Gohan."
Son Gohan gave him a meaningful look and then said, "Lord Supreme Kai, you should have done your homework when you got back..."
"Ah, what do you mean?" the Supreme Kai asked in surprise.
"It's simple, Lord Supreme Kai didn't even know my name last night."
The Supreme Kai wore an embarrassed smile, completely lacking the dignity of a god.
Seeing the Supreme Kai's awkwardness, Son Gohan didn't expose him further and said with a smile, "It's my honor to be friends with Lord Supreme Kai. I was too tired last night, I apologize."
The Supreme Kai was immediately flattered.
Son Gohan wasn't like this last night. His distant demeanor had somewhat frightened him.
He hadn't expected him to be so friendly today.
"Ah, it's nothing, it's nothing. Rest is of course very important."
"Heh, is that so? Since we're friends and I've treated you to such delicious food, shouldn't you show some appreciation? A token of meeting, perhaps? Just a little something to mark the occasion?" Son Gohan chuckled.
"Huh?" The Supreme Kai and Kibito couldn't quite wrap their heads around that for a moment.
A token of meeting?
What was that?
Do mortals really exchange gifts every time they meet?
Hmm, but come to think of it, that actually makes sense. There is a saying in the human world about reciprocity—that must be what he means.
