My Town Mayor Father

She had no idea why she couldn't have children.

But she remembered something from a very, very long time ago.

Her boss had once told her that.

To have a child, a man and a woman had to sleep in the same bed.

Otherwise, having a child was impossible.

The Great Ape was so huge, and she was so small. How could they possibly sleep in the same bed?

So having a child was impossible.

"Your Majesty..."

Remembering the past, the girl's expression grew somewhat gloomy.

Just then,

a voice rang out from the helicopter.

"Komai, can you hear me? Komai, it's Dad! I'm coming to save you. Don't be scared. I'll get you out of there!"

A gray-haired man shouted anxiously into a megaphone.

"Dad?" The girl looked up at the helicopters in the sky.

She couldn't tell which helicopter the voice was coming from, but a warm feeling spread through her body, and she felt much less afraid.

Although this man wasn't her biological father, he treated her as his own and loved her dearly.

That was right.

He was the mayor who had adopted her.

"Did you hear that? My dad's come to save me," Komai said to the Great Ape.

The Great Ape didn't answer her question, staring at her with stubborn resolve. "You really don't want to be my wife?"

Komai shook her head firmly. "I don't. Please let me go, okay? If you let me go, I'll ask them to let you leave safely."

"No way. Even if you don't want to, I'm taking you with me. You don't get to decide." As it spoke, the Great Ape grabbed Komai and stood up.

It was enormous, as tall as an entire building.

As it rose, the whole tower creaked and swayed, threatening to collapse.

The Great Ape glared at the helicopters overhead, looking displeased.

"What an annoying fly!"

Holding Komai in one hand, it swung its other hand at the helicopters.

Its enormous palm came down like a canopy. Seeing the danger, the helicopters quickly fled.

Then the Great Ape leaped from the rooftop and strode away.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

Deep footprints marked its path, and each booming step shook the earth.

It even crushed several people beneath its feet.

The helicopters couldn't just let it escape with a hostage, so they immediately gave chase.

Seeing the humans refuse to take a hint, the Great Ape's temper flared.

"Roar!"

It roared and swatted wildly at the helicopters. One was struck in the tail and came crashing down from the sky, trailing thick smoke.

"Oh no!"

Videl paced anxiously on the roof of a building.

She had already learned the Flight Technique, but she wasn't very fast, and she was far outmatched in strength. Even if she caught up, she couldn't defeat the giant ape.

"Strange. Why hasn't Trunks arrived yet? Did something happen on the way and delay him?"

Watching the smoking helicopter plummet, Videl grew more and more worried.

Just then, a figure wreathed in blazing aura shot into the battlefield from the distant sky.

Trunks had finally arrived.

"Phew, he made it," Videl said with relief.

Trunks flashed into place beneath the falling helicopter.

He lifted it with both hands and helped it land safely, then tore off its door with one hand and vanished again.

The pilot jumped out of the helicopter and stared, dumbfounded, in the direction Trunks had gone, utterly stunned.

Was that man human or a god?

Videl grabbed a microphone and shouted orders:

"All teams, listen up! Our reinforcements have arrived. Stop the rescue operation. I repeat, stop the rescue operation. Leave everything to him."

Videl knew that Son Gohan and Trunks were super-warriors with power beyond imagination.

There was no point in trying to help them. They just had to avoid getting in the way; otherwise, they'd only make the rescue harder and increase the casualties.

The rescue teams obeyed her orders, moving aside and no longer following close behind the Great Ape.

Their original mission had only been to buy time anyway.

The sight of such a huge ape had unnerved them, and they were relieved to keep their distance.

Trunks became a streak of white light and instantly appeared in front of the Great Ape.

Seeing a human as tiny as a mouse dare to block its way, the charging Great Ape's eyes flashed with murderous intent. It swung its huge palm down as if swatting a fly.

"Don't!" Komai screamed.

But the Great Ape ignored her and struck without mercy.

It went all out, trying to kill whoever stood in its way.

"Boom!"

A shocking scene unfolded.

The one sent flying was the enormous ape. It flipped backward, legs kicking into the air, and rolled along the ground.

"H-how could this be?" The Great Ape sat up, over a hundred meters tall, and stared in shock at Trunks, who was still hovering motionless in the sky.

That kid hadn't been killed by its blow.

Instead, the bones in its arm had been pulverized.

How was that possible?

Its palm alone was several times bigger than the boy.

It made no sense at all. Its father had never told it anything like this could happen.

"Roar!"

A beast was still a beast, with limited intelligence.

The intense pain in its arm drove it into a frenzy, and it roared furiously at Trunks.

Dizzy from being shaken around and nearly passing out, Komai stared at Trunks in shock.

The boy was unharmed, while the Great Ape was the one who'd been injured?

How could that be?

The sight before her reminded her of Son Goku from many years ago.

That's right, Son Goku.

This boy had a tail, too.

Wasn't he just like that same kind of master?

Hope flared in Komai's eyes.

Trunks hovered high in the sky, looking at the raging Great Ape. "You can roar all you want, big guy. I can smell blood on you. You've killed people, so I'm going to kill you."

"Roar! Die! Die!" The Great Ape was already out of its mind with rage and charged at Trunks again.

Even so, it still held on tightly to Komai. No one knew where it got such an intense fixation.

The giant ape charged forward, every step shaking the earth and sending dust billowing behind it.

Trunks pressed his middle and index fingers together and gathered energy, then pointed them forward.

A beam of energy shot from his fingertips and instantly blew the Great Ape's head apart.

Its head exploded. Its legs gave way, and its body toppled forward.

Since it had been running, its momentum carried its hand forward, still gripping Komai, flinging her away as if it had thrown her with all its strength.

"Ahhh!"

Komai squeezed her eyes shut and let out a terrified scream.

Trunks flashed forward and caught her in an instant.

"Stop screaming."

"Ah!" Komai opened her eyes and saw that she was lying in Trunks's arms. Her face flushed bright red.

"You're safe now. I killed the Great Ape," Trunks said.

"Th-thank you," Komai said, sneaking a glance at Trunks's face.

"You don't have to thank me. I was just helping my sister," Trunks said, then carried Komai toward Videl.

Trunks quickly found Videl and set Komai down.

"Miss Videl, I've completed the mission as requested," Trunks said with a smile.

Videl looked over Komai, who was unharmed, then smiled. "Thank you, Trunks. Without you, we wouldn't have known what to do."

"It was nothing."

"How about this? I'll treat you to a big meal. Then I'll ask the police department to give you a bonus."

"I know you don't need the money, but it's the only thing I can do for you. Besides, you earned it yourself."

"Great! Then I'm going to eat a huge meal," Trunks said with a grin.

"Um, could I come along, too? I'll pay," Komai said hesitantly from beside them.
