Kibito jolted too.
What was all this supposed to mean?
They had all been afraid that even the slightest movement might wake Majin Buu.
But Son Gohan had gone and—
He'd slammed an energy blast down, sending the sealed ball flying.
Their bodies went rigid. They were practically on the verge of tears.
Honestly, they were a little scared.
Kibito stammered, "M-Mr. Gohan, could you be a little more careful?"
Supreme Kai chimed in, "Yes. It would be a disaster if Majin Buu woke up."
"Hey, don't worry."
Son Gohan walked over and picked up Majin Buu's sealed ball. He tossed it up and down in his hand like he was playing catch.
Kibito and Supreme Kai kept their eyes fixed on the sealed ball, never looking away for even a second. They looked as if they were nodding frantically.
Son Gohan continued, "Majin Buu's been sealed inside for millions of years. If he could break out that easily, he'd have done it ages ago. First, we haven't said the unsealing spell. Second, there isn't enough energy. He can't get out."
"Really?" Supreme Kai and Kibito asked nervously.
"Of course. Just relax. Come on, let's head back." Son Gohan urged them on.
Majin Buu's sealed ball came down from the sky, and he caught it securely in his hands.
"Oh, okay." Kibito nodded, then placed a hand on Son Gohan's and Supreme Kai's shoulders. With a whoosh, the three of them returned to the Sacred World of the Kai.
Son Gohan set the sealed ball on the ground. Old Kai walked over and circled it once, clicking his tongue. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. That thing's practically oozing evil energy. Hurry up and put it somewhere safe."
"Yes, Ancestor." Supreme Kai replied.
Kibito then carried Old Kai on his back, while Son Gohan held the sealed ball and Supreme Kai flew on his own. Together, they returned to where the Z Sword was sealed.
Son Gohan placed the enormous sealed ball on the mountaintop. It nearly filled the entire summit.
Son Gohan dusted off his hands and grinned. "All right, that's finally taken care of."
Supreme Kai circled the sealed ball again. Once he'd confirmed it hadn't been damaged, he finally felt relieved.
Then they returned to the ground.
Son Gohan said, "The Realm of the Gods is the Sacred Land of the gods, after all. Ordinary mortals can't just come here."
"As long as Lord Supreme Kai and Kibito remember to inspect it regularly, everything should be fine."
Supreme Kai replied, "We'll make sure to check on it regularly. Otherwise, we wouldn't feel at ease either."
"Mm." Son Gohan nodded, then looked at Old Kai. "Hey, old man, how are we going to keep in touch from now on? I can't use Instant Transmission, so it's really inconvenient. Even if I find something good, I can't bring it here for you. Could you teach me Kibito's technique?"
Son Gohan asked, still unwilling to give up.
Old Kai waved a hand. "No use. I really can't teach you that."
"Uh..." Son Gohan sighed.
"How about this? Take this." Old Kai thought for a moment, then pulled a glass orb about the size of a fist from who knew where and handed it to Son Gohan.
"What's this?" Son Gohan took the orb and examined it closely.
Old Kai explained, "It's called a Communication Orb. Next time you find something good, just speak into it and we'll hear you. Then I can have Kibito come pick you up."
"Great, this is perfect!" Son Gohan grinned and happily stowed the Communication Orb in his Universal Storage Capsule.
"Thanks, old man." Son Gohan smiled.
"Mm. Off you go." Old Kai turned around and waved him away.
Son Gohan turned to Kibito. "Kibito, sorry to trouble you, but could you take me back to Earth?"
"Sure, it's no trouble." Kibito replied with a blank expression. He seemed like the taciturn type.
"Goodbye, Lord Supreme Kai. Thanks for the sword." Son Gohan smiled at Supreme Kai.
Supreme Kai waved back with a smile. "Heh, think nothing of it, Mr. Gohan. Come visit often."
"Mm, I definitely will." Son Gohan replied with a smile.
"Let's go, Kibito."
"Okay!" Kibito answered, placing a hand on Son Gohan's shoulder. With a whoosh, they vanished.
The next second, the two of them appeared outside Capsule Corp.
"Mr. Gohan, we've arrived. I'll be going now." Seeing that they'd reached their destination, Kibito immediately said his goodbyes.
"Hey, hey." Son Gohan grabbed him before he could leave.
"Have something to eat before you go. I promise you've never tried this stuff before. It's absolutely delicious."
"Th-That's okay, isn't it?" Kibito's Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed.
Come to think of it, Earth food really was delicious.
"What's wrong with that? We're friends, you know. Friends don't need to be so formal. Come on, let's go."
Unable to refuse his warm invitation, Kibito reluctantly ate 15 ice creams, 10 Berserk Lobster Balls, eight Iceberg Velvet Chicken Legs, and a cup of Baa Baa Milk Tea.
"Ahem, Kibito, how does it taste?" Son Gohan asked.
"Mr. Gohan, it's delicious! I've never had anything this good on Supreme Kai Planet." Kibito replied honestly.
"Of course. You can only get this stuff on Earth. They don't have it anywhere else. Come by anytime. There's plenty, and you can eat your fill." Son Gohan smiled.
"I don't know how to thank you." Kibito looked utterly sincere.
Son Gohan waved a hand. "It's no big deal. It hardly costs anything. What matters is that you enjoy it. We're friends, so don't worry about that."
"Uh, then thank you, Mr. Gohan." Kibito smiled.
"I'm stuffed. I should head back now."
"Wait a second." Son Gohan waved over a server.
The server immediately came over carrying two full bags of food.
Son Gohan took the bags from the server and forcibly placed them in Kibito's hands.
"You've already eaten, but Supreme Kai and Old Kai haven't. Take these back for them."
"Th-Thank you, Mr. Gohan." Kibito felt his eyes grow a little moist.
Ah, Mr. Gohan really is such a wonderful person.
He even remembered the two Supreme Kais way off in the Sacred World of the Kai.
Compared to him, I'm practically a monster. I only thought about eating for myself. Shame on me.
A warm feeling welled up inside Kibito. This time, he was genuinely touched.
"By the way, Kibito, I want to go to Planet Yardrat tomorrow," Son Gohan said.
Kibito immediately stood up straight. "Then I'll come pick you up on time tomorrow, Mr. Gohan. Would you like to go in the morning or afternoon?"
"Hey, you don't have to be so serious. The morning's fine. Just come by then." Son Gohan smiled.
"Okay, I'll come by tomorrow morning." Kibito nodded firmly, then vanished with Instant Transmission.
Son Gohan carried a bag of food back to Capsule Corp and found Bulma studying the huge chunk of Thunderbolt Steel.
Trunks sensed Son Gohan's energy and ran out of the Gravity Chamber too.
As soon as they met, Trunks chattered away about what had happened the day before yesterday.
After hearing him out, Son Gohan asked in surprise, "You're saying you saved a girl named Komai?"
"Yeah, what about it? She even treated Videl and me to dinner." Trunks replied.
"Uh, nothing. Good for you." Son Gohan patted Trunks on the shoulder, then continued, "You stink. Go take a bath, then come with me somewhere."
"Are we going somewhere fun?" Trunks's eyes lit up. He immediately ignored the first half of what Son Gohan had said.
"Obviously. Are you coming or not? If you are, hurry up. Otherwise, I'll go by myself." Son Gohan said.
"I'm coming! Wait for me, Gohan! I'll be quick." Trunks dashed off.
Bulma turned to ask, "Gohan, where are you two going?"
"I promised Old Kai I'd buy him some local specialties." Son Gohan smiled.
"Oh." Bulma nodded. "He's an old man, right? Are you buying him something like health supplements?"
"Right, right. Health supplements." Son Gohan nodded.
