After Vegeta finished counting, he struggled to his feet.
A faint smile played across his face.
"Good!"
"That's another set done!"
The joy in his eyes was suddenly replaced by the reflection of Son Goku.
"Kakarot!"
"Just you wait! I'll definitely surpass you!"
"I'll take a break, then start the next set!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, his stomach rebelled.
Grrr~
"..."
Vegeta checked the time and realized it was almost noon.
"Is it nearly twelve already?"
"No wonder I'm hungry!"
"Whatever. I'd better get something to eat first!"
He turned off the gravity device and immediately felt his body grow lighter. Then he walked to the door and pressed the open button.
The door opened, and he was just about to step outside.
But Bulma was standing there with her hands on her hips, glaring at him.
Seeing her like that, he furrowed his brow, unable to understand why she looked as if she wanted to eat him alive.
As far as he could remember, he'd been doing his husbandly duty on time lately!
Why did she look so upset?
Confused, he walked down the ramp and asked, "Bulma, what are you doing here?"
Bulma said frostily, "Training, training, training!"
"All you ever do is train. Is training all you Saiyans think about?"
"Someone has to come and call you just to get you to eat. If you love training so much, why not stop eating altogether?"
With that, she turned and walked away.
Vegeta watched her go, showing no sign of displeasure.
But being the proud man he was, he instinctively muttered, "Nag, nag, nag!"
"Why do you think Saiyans are called a warrior race?"
Then he strode after her.
However.
He'd barely taken a few steps when he suddenly stopped and looked up at the sky in alarm.
"These two powers... Saiyans?"
Before he could give it much thought, Bulma's irritated voice rang out from ahead.
"Vegeta!"
"Why are you just standing there like an idiot?"
"Are you eating or not?!"
Unfortunately, Vegeta's attention was elsewhere, and he didn't hear a word she said.
When Bulma saw that he wasn't responding, she was about to scold him again, but then she noticed how tense he looked as he stared at the sky.
The words died on her lips.
Her heart gave a sudden lurch.
She knew that if he looked that serious, something was probably wrong.
Maybe an enemy had invaded!
At the thought, she hurriedly looked up, but couldn't see anything.
She quickly stepped over to Vegeta and asked, "Vegeta, is there another enemy?"
She wasn't like Chi-Chi, who couldn't read the room no matter what was going on.
She could complain all she liked under ordinary circumstances, but when something happened, she would quietly support him and do whatever she could to help.
When something serious was happening, she wouldn't get in the way of her man's business.
And what counted as business for a Saiyan?
Naturally, fighting and training.
And fighting generally meant there was an enemy around.
Being quick-witted, she knew how to judge what needed attention first.
She could be temperamental, but she had to pick her moment.
That was one reason Vegeta was so happy to be with her.
Men loved a woman who knew where to draw the line.
At Bulma's question, Vegeta's furrowed brow relaxed.
"They probably aren't enemies, but the newcomers might be Saiyans."
Bulma asked in surprise, "Huh?"
"Saiyans?"
"Vegeta, didn't you say all the Saiyans are on Earth now?"
Vegeta fell silent for two seconds, then said, "Bulma, actually, I have a younger brother. My real younger brother."
"But he was born with a low battle power, so he was sent to a remote planet."
"Very few people know about it."
"If I'm right, one of those two Saiyans should be him."
Even as he said it, he wasn't entirely sure.
Before invading Earth, he hadn't been able to sense ki, so how could he know what Tarble's ki felt like?
Besides, when he'd summoned the Saiyans scattered across the galaxy back to Planet Vegeta, he'd called back those who'd gone out on missions. He hadn't recalled the Saiyans who'd been exiled to remote planets.
So he couldn't be sure the newcomers were Tarble.
After hearing him out, Bulma cried, "What? You have a younger brother?"
"You have a brother?"
"Why have you never mentioned him?"
"Vegeta, we've been married for years. How much else are you hiding from me?"
She put her hands on her hips again and puffed out her cheeks.
They'd been married for years, and she'd never heard a thing about this.
Of course she was upset.
However.
Vegeta noticed the faintest flicker of embarrassment in his eyes, but otherwise kept his expression composed.
He was just about to make an excuse when he suddenly looked up again.
"Hm?"
"No, wait. There are two more following behind them. They look much stronger than the first two."
"Bulma, go ahead and eat at home. I'll go take a look!"
Without waiting for her to answer, he burst into white flames of ki and shot into the sky.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, he vanished into the distance.
Bulma stamped her foot in anger.
"What was that?"
"He ran off without explaining anything!"
"Honestly!"
"But Vegeta actually has a younger brother..."
"Why didn't he bring him to Earth before?"
"Whatever. Saiyans aren't very sentimental, so it makes sense that he never brought him here."
"Tarble... Tarble... Two of the letters in his name are the same as mine!"
"Wait, why does it sound like a combination of my name and Vegeta's?"
"How strange!"
"No, I'd better have someone prepare for his arrival. If Vegeta's little brother really is coming, we should at least have something to offer him!"
"Right, and I should put on some makeup..."
Meanwhile.
The other Z Fighters on Earth also sensed four powerful ki signatures entering the planet in the open.
At Yamcha's house.
Puar looked at Yamcha as he suddenly raised his head and gazed into the distance. "Master Yamcha, what's wrong?"
"Someone's come to Earth. Four people, in fact!" Yamcha's scarred face was grave. "I don't know whether they're friend or foe!"
"Puar, stay here. I'll go see what's going on!"
But Puar wouldn't hear of it. "No, I'm coming with you!"
Yamcha looked down at him and saw the resolve on his face. Knowing he couldn't talk him out of it, he gave in. "All right, then. We'll go together."
"But if anything seems wrong, get as far away as you can."
"Okay, I understand."
Kame House.
Krillin and Master Roshi had just set down their chopsticks when they sensed something was wrong. They rushed out one after the other without even clearing the dishes.
Android 18 was completely baffled, but she followed them outside.
Once out, she asked, "Krillin, is something going on?"
Krillin, whose hair had grown back, looked utterly confused.
"Four people have come to Earth from beyond the planet. Two of them have really powerful, really evil ki."
"The other two... Wait!"
"Why does the ki of the other two feel a little like... Saiyans?"
