Background / History
Vegeta lived on Earth with Bulma and trained obsessively in a gravity device, motivated by his determination to surpass Son Goku. Bulma regularly had to pull him away from training to eat, though their exchanges remained familiar rather than hostile. 2
When he sensed two Saiyan ki signatures approaching Earth, Vegeta immediately recognized the possibility that one was his younger brother Tarble. Although initially surprised by Tarble's rapid growth, he became increasingly invested in his brother's potential and encouraged him to train toward Super Saiyan. 2 6 10
Vegeta taught Tarble and Rix how to sense and suppress ki, then later instructed Tarble in the practical method of gathering ki toward the back to trigger Super Saiyan. He also provided Tarble with access to his Gravity Chamber and explained how to master the Super Saiyan Full Power form by maintaining the transformation during everyday life. 5 12 16 22
During the battle with Abo and Gato, Vegeta intervened when Gohan hesitated to finish them. He killed the pursuers without mercy and sharply criticized Gohan's reluctance to kill hostile enemies. 9
Tarble's exceptional growth repeatedly challenged Vegeta's pride, but it also revived his competitive drive. Rather than rejecting Tarble after being surpassed, Vegeta took pride in Tarble as a fellow royal Saiyan and viewed his strength as proof of the royal bloodline's potential. 14 25 29
After Tarble revealed Super Saiyan 4, Vegeta became determined to reach the form himself. He regrew his tail through the Namekian Dragon Balls, achieved Super Saiyan 3, and trained alongside Goku, Tarble, and Rix in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber until he successfully attained Super Saiyan 4. 36 38 41 42
Appearance
Vegeta has flame-shaped, gravity-defying hair and is commonly seen with his arms crossed in a stern, guarded posture. 4
- His Super Saiyan 3 form has waist-length golden hair, no eyebrows, and a golden aura threaded with jagged lightning. 41
- Bulma made him a specialized battle suit, referred to as a “Wife-edition battle suit.” 41
- His Super Saiyan 3 appearance is described as sinister or demon-like despite his ki retaining no malicious quality. 41
Personality
Vegeta is intensely competitive, particularly toward Son Goku. His long-running desire to surpass Goku is tied not only to personal pride but also to his belief that Saiyan royal blood should stand above ordinary Saiyans. 2 6 10
He is blunt, demanding, and often harsh toward perceived weakness. Vegeta despises Gohan's tendency to spare enemies and initially injured Rix in an extreme attempt to trigger Saiyan recovery-based growth. 9 19
Despite his abrasive manner, Vegeta has grown strongly attached to his family. He sincerely mentors Tarble and Rix, recognizes hard work, and ultimately responds to Tarble surpassing him with excitement and pride rather than resentment. 10 21 29
