"Yue'er, I'm leaving. Tell Uncle War Emperor for me." Wang Yang looked around at every blade of grass and every tree, then took a deep breath. A trace of reluctance showed in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by resolve.
With a battle power of several million, there were only a handful of people in the universe who could beat him. He'd been lying low for so long that he couldn't keep it up any longer. It was time to let the people of the universe learn his name.
He understood Little Yue'er's feelings perfectly well. It wasn't that he was uninterested in women; it was just that Yue'er was only twelve or thirteen, still a child. With his mature soul, he simply couldn't entertain any improper thoughts about her.
"Leave? Where are you going?" Yue'er had a bad feeling.
"I'm going to find a way to become stronger." Wang Yang smiled faintly and pointed to the sky.
"I knew this day would come. Please take me with you." Yue'er stepped forward pitifully and grabbed Wang Yang's hand.
"Yue'er, you're really too young. In my eyes, you're still just a little girl." Wang Yang patted her head.
"Other girls my age are already married and have children." Yue'er pouted, unhappy that Wang Yang always rejected her with the excuse that she was too young.
Wang Yang's godlike power, handsome features, and mature, steady personality had deeply attracted many women on this planet. Little Yue'er was one of them.
Wang Yang smiled at Yue'er, waved, and rose into the sky, turning slightly as he flew.
His body wreathed in energy, he shot toward the atmosphere with a long trail of flame behind him.
"Wait!" Yue'er cried out in alarm and immediately took off after him. After this parting, who knew how many years would pass before they met again?
Unfortunately, the difference in their strength was simply too great. The distance between them rapidly widened.
"Goodbye!"
As soon as Wang Yang finished speaking, he had already vanished from Yue'er's sight.
"Waaah! Waaah! Waaah!"
"You jerk! How could you really leave?" Yue'er kept looking in the direction Wang Yang had disappeared, wiping away her tears in silence.
"When I'm grown up, will you come back and take me with you?" Yue'er shouted into the sky, not knowing whether Wang Yang could hear her.
Wang Yang looked down at the planet where he had lived for more than ten years. It was his second home, and a trace of reluctance showed in his eyes.
He shook his head and stared ahead, his expression resolute. His figure shot forward like a meteor, a white dragon surging through the sky as he broke through the atmosphere without hesitation.
With a thought, Wang Yang activated the Protective Barrier he'd learned from Broly. A blue energy shield enveloped him as he sped through the dark universe.
Wang Yang sensed an immense amount of ki throughout the universe, as vast as the sea. He headed toward the place where it was most concentrated.
The more ki a place had, the more prosperous it was bound to be.
Once Wang Yang had accelerated to his limit, he withdrew his ki. Carried by his momentum, the energy shield continued to envelop him as he flew through the vacuum of space.
Wang Yang looked around curiously. Everywhere he looked was utterly silent and lifeless; only the distant stars glittered.
Flying through the dark universe with no living beings around him, he felt an indescribable loneliness wash over him.
Just moments earlier, when Wang Yang had released all his ki, a spaceship in the distance had suddenly begun blaring an alarm.
The readings on a massive Scouter jumped rapidly. In a short time, the screen displayed the number 1,000,000.
"What happened?" A duck-billed man aboard the ship cried out in shock.
"My lord, the ship's Scouter detected a battle power of one million," a staff member replied respectfully.
"What? That high?" The duck-billed man exclaimed in shock, his mouth suddenly dry.
A million in battle power! It was the highest he'd ever seen.
Even his own king had a battle power of only a little over five hundred thousand.
"Report it to the king at once," the duck-billed man said, his voice trembling.
The staff member hesitated, looking as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.
"If you have something to say, then say it. Why are you stammering?" The duck-billed man roared in anger. These staff members were not only weak, but also timid and indecisive. It was infuriating.
If the ship didn't need them for maintenance, he would have liked to wipe out all these weaklings.
"The maximum reading of our spaceship's Scouter is one million. That means the energy we just detected was at least one million," the white-robed staff member said softly, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
The duck-billed man's pupils contracted. He swallowed instinctively.
"Could the Scouter be malfunctioning?" the duck-billed man asked hesitantly. He could hardly imagine that such terrifying power existed.
"That shouldn't be possible. This massive Scouter is our latest design and one of our flagship products. It's extremely popular, and we've never heard of any malfunctions. It definitely—" The white-robed man glanced at the device, and his voice abruptly caught in his throat, as if someone had grabbed him by the neck.
"It's gone?"
The white-robed man stared at the screen, where the reading of one million had vanished. His eyes nearly popped out of his head.
"Where's that energy now? You said the Scouter couldn't malfunction. Find it for me!"
The duck-billed man flew into a rage. There was no doubt about it—the Scouter was malfunctioning. Luckily, he hadn't reported it to the king. If the king found out about this embarrassing blunder, he would be in for it.
"That's impossible! This is the latest Scouter. It can't be malfunctioning." The white-robed staff member examined the device carefully from every angle.
"Head for Trade Planet at once! I'll make them pay for this. They dared to pass off shoddy knockoffs as top-of-the-line products. It's as if they don't take Lord Frieza seriously!" The duck-billed man roared furiously.
The duck-billed man's spaceship wasn't the only one to detect that energy. People aboard other ships detected it too. Before long, the phones at a company on Trade Planet were ringing off the hook, and the callers were giving them an earful.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. There must be nothing wrong with our products." A humanoid with a receding hairline kept apologizing into the phone.
"Bastard! If there's nothing wrong with your products, then the problem must be mine? Or is it King Frieza's fault?"
"No, no! That's not what I meant."
"You'd better give me an explanation. The planet you live on was sold to you by us. If you don't sort this out, we'll consider finding a new owner for it."
"Yes! Yes! Yes! We'll resolve this properly. How about this: we'll replace your Scouter with a brand-new one for free. And to show our apologies, our company will give you an extra spaceship."
"That works, but the spaceship you're giving me better be registered in my name."
"Of course! Of course!"
