The Dragon Ball World.

Age 749.

On Earth, at Turtle Hermit Island.

A boy dressed in an orange-red martial arts uniform was saying goodbye to Master Roshi.

That boy was Sun Wukong.

However, he wasn't the Sun Wukong from the original story. He was a transmigrator.

A year ago, Lin Fan had transmigrated to this world and become the eleven-year-old Sun Wukong.

Lin Fan was a veteran Dragon Ball fan and knew how important strength was in the Dragon Ball World, so he had left Mount Paozu and come to Turtle Hermit Island to train under Master Roshi.

Since Sun Wukong's grandfather had been Master Roshi's student, Master Roshi hadn't given him much trouble before accepting him as a pupil.

Lin Fan had trained incredibly hard, and in just one year, his power had caught up with Master Roshi's.

Sun Wukong hadn't planned to leave, but a few days ago, he had obtained the Dragon Ball System.

The Dragon Ball System was a wish-granting system. It also contained seven Dragon Balls, but they were stone Dragon Balls.

The system had told him that if he wanted to make a wish, he first had to go to the Lookout and check in to activate the Dragon Balls.

So Sun Wukong had used training in the outside world as an excuse to leave Turtle Hermit Island.

"Goku, be sure to stay safe while you're out training!"

"Okay!"

Sun Wukong nodded.

"Then, Master Roshi, if there's nothing else, I'll be going?"

"Wait!"

"Master Roshi, is there something else?"

"Ahem!"

Master Roshi cleared his throat.

"The twenty-first World Martial Arts Tournament will be held in West City eight months from now!"

"The World Martial Arts Tournament!"

"That's right. It's the most famous martial arts tournament in the world. I hope you'll come back and take part!"

"Okay!"

Sun Wukong nodded, then shouted toward the sky.

"Flying Nimbus!"

"Whoosh..."

As soon as he called out, a yellow cloud quickly flew down from the sky.

At first, Sun Wukong had thought he wouldn't be able to ride the Flying Nimbus.

After all, only people who were truly pure could ride it.

Perhaps because he had transmigrated, he had somehow been able to climb aboard.

That had even led Master Roshi to believe for a time that Sun Wukong was an exceptionally pure person.

"Thump..."

A moment later, the Flying Nimbus landed in front of Sun Wukong.

With a large bundle on his back, Sun Wukong quickly hopped on.

"Then, Master Roshi, Sea Turtle, I'm off!"

Sun Wukong waved goodbye to the man and the turtle.

"Mm!"

Master Roshi and Sea Turtle nodded.

Sun Wukong then rode the Flying Nimbus away.

Only after Sun Wukong had disappeared from sight did Master Roshi slowly turn away.

It would take half a day to reach the Lookout, so Sun Wukong fell asleep on the Flying Nimbus. When he woke up again, he was beneath a towering tower that reached into the clouds.

This was Korin Tower, in the Dragon Ball World. The Lookout was even higher up.

"That tower sure is tall!"

Sun Wukong murmured to himself as he rode the Flying Nimbus upward.

After some time, Sun Wukong suddenly spotted an oval-shaped tower.

It was the very top of Korin Tower.

Inside stood a cat with white fur all over and a staff in his paw. He watched Sun Wukong approach.

This cat was Korin, also known as the Cat Hermit.

"Thump..."

Before long, Sun Wukong rode the Flying Nimbus into the tower.

Korin looked Sun Wukong over and asked, "Kid, who are you? Why are you riding the Flying Nimbus up here?"

"Hello! My name is Sun Wukong!"

"Sun Wukong?"

"Master Roshi gave me the Flying Nimbus!"

"Master Roshi? What is he to you?"

"He's my master," Sun Wukong replied.

"So you're his student?"

Sun Wukong nodded.

"Then what are you doing here?"

"I have something to take care of at the Lookout!"

"The Lookout!"

Korin looked up.

Just then, Sun Wukong's stomach suddenly rumbled.

"Um, Lord Korin, do you have anything to eat?" Sun Wukong asked with a smile.

Korin glanced at the dead fish lying not far away.

Following Korin's gaze, Sun Wukong spotted the dead fish on the ground too.

"Lord Korin, that..."

Before Sun Wukong could finish, Korin immediately picked up the fish and said, "This fish is my lunch. I can't give it to you!"

"Rumble..."

Sun Wukong's stomach growled again.

Korin thought for a moment, then said, "Wait here. I'll get you something to eat!"

"Oh!"

Korin opened a wooden hatch in the floor and went down.

A little while later, Korin came back up and tossed Sun Wukong a Senzu Bean.

Sun Wukong caught the Senzu Bean with his right hand and asked, "What's this?"

"It's called a Senzu Bean."

"A Senzu Bean?"

"That's right! Don't let its size fool you. An ordinary person can go ten days without eating after just one."

"Really?"

Sun Wukong immediately tossed the Senzu Bean into his mouth, chewed it a few times, and swallowed it.

Since the Senzu Bean was raw, it didn't taste very good.

"How is it?"

"My stomach isn't as empty anymore, but I'm still a little hungry!"

"Then I'll give you another one!"

Korin took out another Senzu Bean and tossed it to Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong caught it again.

This time, Sun Wukong barely chewed before swallowing the Senzu Bean.

"How about now, Goku?"

"I'm not hungry anymore!"

"Is that so!"

Hearing that, Korin happily started grilling his fish.

"Lord Korin, could you give me some more Senzu Beans?"

"What do you want them for?" Korin asked, turning around.

"Training!"

"All right, but don't touch my fish, or I won't give you any!"

"Mm!"

Sun Wukong nodded.

Seeing that, Korin opened the hatch in the floor again and went downstairs.

A little while later, Korin came back up with a full bag of Senzu Beans and handed it to Sun Wukong.

Korin still had plenty of Senzu Beans at this point, before Yajirobe had gotten his hands on them.

"Thanks!"

Sun Wukong took the Senzu Beans.

"I won't keep you from your meal, then!"

Korin nodded.

"By the way, Goku, would you like to drink the Ultra Divine Water?"

"The Ultra Divine Water?"

"That's right! Didn't Master Roshi tell you about it?"

"He did, but don't I have to climb up Korin Tower from the bottom to drink the Ultra Divine Water?"

"That's not all. You have to pass my test before you can drink it!"

Sun Wukong thought for a moment, then said, "I have something else to do right now. Maybe next time!"

"All right!"

"Goodbye, Lord Korin!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Sun Wukong used the Flight Technique to fly upward.

The Flight Technique? Korin thought to himself.

Then he gazed hungrily at the grilled fish in front of him.

After flying upward, Sun Wukong soon spotted a spinning-top-shaped "giant rock."

This "giant rock" was the Lookout.

After flying for a little while longer, Sun Wukong soon arrived at the Lookout.
