Chi-Chi had gone to visit the Ox-King and still hadn't returned!
For once, they could enjoy some peace and quiet without anyone scolding them, so they trained hard in the Gravity Chambers!
The gravity in Sun Wukong's chamber was based on multiples of his body weight!
He weighed about 180 jin. Twice that was 360, three times was 540... and so on!
The gravity in Son Gohan's chamber was far more terrifying! Son Gohan weighed about 80 jin. Twice that was 160, but three times was already 320, and four times was 640. Starting at four times, the gravity in his chamber already exceeded the multiples in Sun Wukong's!
Sun Wukong had even tried going into Son Gohan's Gravity Chamber, since he could already withstand two hundred times gravity in his own!
That meant 36,000 jin of force! 36,000 jin—18 tons! About as much as a small truck loaded to capacity!
And the pressure acted from the outside in. Even his internal organs were subjected to it!
Curious, Sun Wukong had gone into Son Gohan's Gravity Chamber two days earlier. The moment he opened the door and stepped inside, he was crushed to the ground. Capillaries burst all over his body, blood spilled from his mouth, and his internal organs began to rupture!
Yet the display on the pillar in the center of the chamber showed only ten times!
That's right—ten times!
Starting from 180 jin, the weight doubled to 360, then 720, 1,440, 2,880... At ten times, it had reached 184,320 jin!
Even at the normal setting of three hundred times, his own Gravity Chamber only produced 54,000 jin of force!
It couldn't compare to Son Gohan's at all!
Seeing what happened, Son Gohan hurriedly switched off the gravity and helped Sun Wukong up, feeding him a Senzu Bean!
"Dad, how are you?" Son Gohan asked anxiously.
"Cough, cough... I nearly died. If you'd been one second later, I wouldn't have held out!" Sun Wukong said, still shaken.
"Dad, I told you the settings in my chamber work differently. Never mind—you wouldn't be able to figure out the math anyway." Son Gohan sounded a little reproachful.
"Got it, Gohan. Even if you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have gone back in. I'll try again once I break through to Super Saiyan!" Having skirted death, Sun Wukong's battle power had increased considerably once more!
When he was at Bulma's house, his battle power had already surpassed 100,000. After returning to Mount Paozu to train, though, it hadn't increased by much—only about 10,000 over the course of a month!
But his body had been quietly building up reserves, turning the strength he'd accumulated through training into potential. The moment he came back from the brink of death, his battle power surged, breaking straight through 500,000!
Son Gohan wasn't surprised at all!
In the original story, when Sun Wukong arrived on Namek, Ginyu had measured his battle power at over 180,000—and that was with King Kai Fist activated!
But after taking over Sun Wukong's body, Ginyu was gravely injured by Krillin and Gohan. Once he recovered in the healing tank, his battle power shot straight up to the Saiyans' normal upper limit: three million!
Then, after Krillin died, he broke through to Super Saiyan!
For some reason, Sun Wukong was improving much more slowly than in the original story!
Son Gohan guessed it was because he didn't have a powerful opponent!
Even though Son Gohan was strong, Sun Wukong didn't see him as an enemy. Naturally, he didn't feel any sense of urgency!
"Judging by the timeline, my uncle should be arriving soon," Son Gohan murmured.
"What uncle?" Sun Wukong asked, looking at him in confusion.
"Nothing, Dad! We've been training for so long. Why don't we go out for a while? Didn't you say there were lots of friends you still had to introduce me to?" Son Gohan suggested they go out for a bit.
"That sounds good. Chi-Chi's not here, so I'll take you to Kame House Island. Master Roshi was my teacher. We may be strong, but that doesn't mean we've surpassed him in martial arts!" Sun Wukong agreed.
The two cleaned up and set off for Kame House Island!
On the way, Son Gohan used his communicator to contact Bulma, who then got in touch with Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and the others!
Oolong and Krillin had been staying with Master Roshi all along!
If they were going to get together, they might as well all come!
A month earlier!
After Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa conquered an unnamed planet, Raditz accepted a mission from the task system, choosing one relatively close to Earth!
A month had passed, and Raditz had reached the Solar System. In just three more hours, he would land on Earth!
Kame House Island!
"Ha ha, Wukong! Long time no see! It's been almost five years, hasn't it? You stopped keeping in touch with us after you got married!" Krillin was delighted to see Sun Wukong arrive!
Two figures flew in from the east!
They were Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu! From the west, a figure in a jet plane sped toward them!
It was Yamcha and Bulma!
"Long time no see!" Yamcha said.
"Hello, everyone! I've brought plenty of delicious food, wine, and drinks. Let's have a feast today!" Bulma said, taking out a Capsule.
"Ha ha, everyone's here... Hm? Wukong, who's this?" Amid the cheerful chatter, Krillin noticed Gohan behind Sun Wukong.
"Heh, I'm invisible, apparently!" Son Gohan said with a helpless grin.
"I forgot to introduce everyone. This is my son with Chi-Chi, Son Gohan! He's even stronger than I am!" Sun Wukong introduced him proudly.
"Son Gohan?" A glint flashed across Master Roshi's sunglasses.
"Yeah. I named him that to honor Grandpa Gohan!" Sun Wukong said, his voice tinged with longing.
"Very good!"
"Gohan, you're so well-behaved! How old are you this year?" Launch asked, stepping forward to pat him on the head.
"Hey, Launch, don't treat him like a little kid. He's nothing like a child!" Bulma hurried to warn her.
"Big sister Launch, I'm four years old!" Son Gohan said. Hearing Bulma's warning, he deliberately took Launch's hand and rubbed it against his cheek as he answered.
Launch was in her blue-haired state, so she was gentle by nature. She didn't mind what Son Gohan was doing.
"Son Gohan, you shameless little brat!" Bulma said, annoyed.
"What's going on, Bulma? Have you met Son Gohan before?" Krillin asked in surprise.
"Hmph, that little brat..." Bulma began telling everyone what had happened when Son Gohan went to see her.
"Ah-choo! Hey, you little brat! How dare you cop a feel? You're dead! Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat!" Launch transformed. She pulled a submachine gun from who knew where and fired a burst at Son Gohan!
Son Gohan waved one hand, leaving afterimages in the air as he effortlessly caught every bullet!
"You little brat, you're pretty good! Now try my rocket launcher!" The blonde-haired Launch hoisted a rocket launcher onto her shoulder.
"Hey, Launch, stop! That's incredibly rude!" Tien Shinhan couldn't help speaking up.
"Tien Shinhan, you're here too! Damn it!" Blonde Launch suddenly swallowed her anger and put away the rocket launcher.
Then she went over to Tien Shinhan, sat down with a huff, and said, "I'm only letting you off because you asked. Otherwise... hmph!"
"So the rumors that blonde Launch has a crush on Tien Shinhan aren't baseless after all," Gohan thought.
"Gohan, I had no idea you were so strong!" Krillin, Yamcha, and the others stared at Gohan in astonishment.
"Ahem, take a seat, everyone. Gohan, let me ask you something: have you ever seen a Great Ape?" Master Roshi suddenly asked.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and waited for Son Gohan's answer.
"Don't worry, Grandpa Master Roshi. I go to bed early at home. I never look at the moon," Son Gohan said, understanding what they meant.
"That's good, that's good!" Oolong, Krillin, Yamcha, and the others instantly breathed a sigh of relief.
Everyone sat around together, eating and chatting!
On the plain, three thousand kilometers from Kame House Island!
Boom!!!
The ground suddenly caved in, leaving a huge crater! The earth shook violently, but only for a brief moment!
"Hm, a meteorite? I'm going to be rich!" A Middle-aged Fatso working in a nearby field abandoned his tools and drove toward the place where Raditz's spaceship had landed.
Little did he know, his life was about to get much shorter!
Kame House Island!
"Heh, he's here!" Son Gohan glanced thoughtfully toward the place where Raditz had landed.
"Gohan?" Sun Wukong seemed to have sensed something too!
"Don't worry, Dad!" Son Gohan suddenly let a hint of his ki rise, making a little of his battle power detectable!
In the original story, Raditz had gone to find Piccolo first!
To prevent Piccolo from killing him, Son Gohan deliberately let his ki show, making it easier for Raditz to detect him!
"What's wrong, Gohan?" Krillin had noticed something strange about him too.
Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan, and Yamcha had all sensed it as well.
"It's nothing, it's nothing. Keep eating, everyone. I'll put on a little show for you in a bit!" Son Gohan reassured them.
