Background / History

Tang San had already been born when Lin Feng began the invasion of Douluo Continent, though he had not yet reached the Royal Academy at that time. Lin Feng later identifies him as the Douluo world's “Son of Luck”: not native to the continent, but endowed with extraordinary fortune and considered the greatest potential threat outside the God Realm. 3 36

He studies at Shrek Academy and is known through the Great Soul Arena for fighting alongside his companions and for the recent destruction of the Ferocious God Team in Silves City. His martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, tying him to the reclusive Clear Sky Sect. 36

When the Heaven Dou Empire mobilizes around Sunset Forest, Tang San judges the offered rewards to be bait and declines to join the dangerous reconnaissance mission. He instead proceeds toward Heaven Dou City with Shrek. 15

Personality

Tang San is cautious and analytical. He recognizes irregular military deployments at the Royal Academy, evaluates danger against reward, and declines ventures he believes are traps. 11 15

He remains composed under direct pressure. When Long Xingyu identifies him as the target, Tang San tries to delay his attacker by seeking information rather than panicking. Later, when the Clear Sky Sect accuses him of bringing the enemy, he does not resist against overwhelming force and accepts imprisonment while assessing his chances of survival. 39 49

He is determined to grow stronger after witnessing the battle between Titled-level combatants, realizing that his present strength leaves him vulnerable. He also keeps grudges: after surviving the Clear Sky Sect's iron-chain trial, he resolves to repay the humiliation inflicted by Tang Long and the other disciples. 38 48

Tang San arrives with the Shrek group at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy amid abnormal military security. He avoids the Sunset Forest reconnaissance mission after judging it too dangerous. 11 15

Targeted by the Holy Demon Federation

Lin Feng orders Long Xingyu to kill Tang San, viewing his luck and future potential as a critical danger. Long Xingyu finds him at the Strength Clan but initially refrains from attacking because Yue Guan, Gui Mei, and a concealed presence make an instant kill unlikely. 36

Long Xingyu later attacks the departing Shrek group. Ghost and Chrysanthemum Douluo misidentify Dai Mubai as the target and fight Long Xingyu, while Tang San escapes with Shrek. 37 38

After Yue Guan abandons the other Shrek members to save Dai Mubai, Long Xingyu catches Tang San and confirms that he is the intended target. Tang San attempts to learn why, but Long Xingyu refuses. Tang Hao then reveals himself and battles Long Xingyu to buy his son time to flee. 39 40

Tang Hao's sacrifice and the subsequent arrival of six additional Titled Douluos force Long Xingyu to abandon the pursuit. 41 42

Return to the Clear Sky Sect

Tang San reunites with his surviving but weakened father. Tang Hao mistakenly believes the Holy Demon Federation may be targeting the Clear Sky Sect and sends Tang San to warn the sect, reconnect with his family, and seek acceptance. 45 46

At the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San is forced to cross a perilous iron-chain route before being received. He reports the Holy Demon Federation's threat, but many elders reject his warning and question his right to return. 47 48

When Long Xingyu and Marbas launch their assault, the sect blames Tang San for leading the enemy to them. Tang Xiao prevents his immediate execution but has him imprisoned while the sect confronts the invasion. 49
