The Vast Starry Sky.
The boundless depths of space stretched on endlessly, dotted with countless stars like diamonds set against black velvet.
Distant stars shone with an eternal light, illuminating the silent void.
Dodoria's spaceship followed far behind Reiz's.
The distance between them was so great that it was hard to make out the other ship with the naked eye.
Against the starry backdrop, it was no more than a faint speck of light, blending in with the surrounding stars.
But Dodoria's ship had a navigation-like system that let him clearly track the movements of Reiz's spaceship.
On the screen, the light representing the other ship was moving slowly.
Dodoria sat in the cockpit, the corners of his mouth lifting into a radiant smile.
He had pink skin, a burly, obese build, and a signature menacing grin.
"So, this is Vegeta's teacher? How interesting!" Dodoria sneered, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.
As he muttered to himself, Dodoria suddenly noticed that the spaceship ahead had stopped.
The light on the screen had gone still. It was no longer moving forward.
"What's going on? Did their ship break down?" Dodoria froze, then started to bring his own ship to a halt.
But it was already too late.
The spaceship was simply moving too fast.
In just a few moments, Dodoria's spaceship had shot right past them, exposing itself near Vegeta and the others' ship.
Through the porthole, the other ship was now clearly visible.
"Damn! They've spotted me!" Dodoria frowned, his smile freezing on his face.
But soon, he snorted and regained his confidence.
"Maybe this is for the best. I'll wipe out everyone here except Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz, and give them a warning!" Dodoria quickly found himself an excuse. "Then I'll say they disobeyed Lord Frieza's orders and left Planet Vegeta without permission. This'll teach them a lesson!"
At the thought, Dodoria immediately felt at ease. The corners of his mouth lifted into a faint smile.
He even crossed his legs and waited leisurely for the others to panic.
But in the next moment, Dodoria's pupils contracted.
He clearly saw three figures leave the other ship and fly toward his spaceship.
They moved quickly through space, heading straight for him.
"Oh? What are they up to?" Dodoria was baffled. He leaned forward and moved closer to the porthole.
The next moment, he pressed the button on his Scouter and scanned the Combat Power of Reiz and the other two.
"Beep! Beep!"
A few soft beeps sounded, and a string of numbers appeared on the screen.
"Their Combat Powers are 15,000 and 10,000!" Dodoria murmured, narrowing his eyes at the screen. "And the last one... 200."
When he saw that Linoshi's Combat Power was only 200, Dodoria even felt a pang of pity.
He shook his head, his face full of disdain.
"What a low Combat Power!" Dodoria said with a shake of his head and a laugh. "Looks like they're coming over to negotiate with me! Fine, I'll hear what they have to say. Then I'll make Vegeta kill his own teacher! Wouldn't that be even more interesting?"
In the starry void.
Reiz held Linoshi's hand and formed a large Force Field around himself and Linoshi, then flew with her toward Dodoria's spaceship.
The energy field glowed a faint blue in the darkness, shielding them from the vacuum.
Through the field, countless stars glittered around them, set against the deep and magnificent expanse.
Linoshi quietly stayed by Reiz's side, letting him hold her hand.
Her hand was still soft and slender. Held in Reiz's palm, it felt warm.
Vegeta followed behind them.
Still, Vegeta had put on an air helmet, just in case something went wrong.
The transparent helmet covered his head and connected to a small oxygen unit on his back, giving him a somewhat clumsy appearance.
After all, Vegeta didn't dare expose himself to the vacuum.
If he died by accident, that would be a real disaster.
Vegeta glanced silently at Reiz's Force Field, looking thoughtful.
He stared at the faint blue glow, his eyes flickering.
It looked like this Force Field really could block out the air and let us Saiyans survive in space for a short while.
This kind of Force Field doesn't seem hard to make!
I'll give it a try!
Vegeta acted as soon as the idea came to him!
If Reiz can do it, then with my higher Combat Power, I can do it too.
"Pop!"
A golden glow immediately burst from Vegeta's body.
The golden light formed a Force Field around him, looking somewhat like Reiz's.
Vegeta gritted his teeth, a resolute glint in his eyes, and slowly took off the air helmet covering his head.
But the moment he removed it, he began to suffocate, like a drowning man with no air to breathe.
His lungs contracted violently. He kicked wildly in the vacuum, flailing his arms and legs, but couldn't get anywhere.
The golden Force Field remained in place, but it couldn't provide him with any air to breathe.
Vegeta's eyes bulged and his mouth fell open, but he couldn't draw in a single breath.
Fear engulfed him, and the shadow of death loomed over him.
Fortunately, Reiz had been keeping track of Vegeta's every move. The moment he sensed something was wrong, he let go of Linoshi's hand, darted forward at incredible speed, and pushed the air helmet in Vegeta's hand back onto his head.
"Click!"
The helmet sealed with a faint sound.
"Haah... haah..."
Vegeta gasped for breath, his face flushed red and his chest heaving.
Sweat slid from his temples, instantly freezing into tiny ice crystals in the vacuum and drifting away.
Just a moment ago, Vegeta had felt like he was about to die.
Wh-what was going on?
Reiz could survive in space with his Force Field!
Why couldn't I, Vegeta, do the same?
Reiz didn't feel like dealing with Vegeta. Seeing that he was more or less all right, Reiz turned and returned to Linoshi's side, taking her hand again as they flew toward Dodoria's spaceship.
Vegeta was badly shaken and didn't dare show off again. He hurried after them, making sure his air helmet was securely in place.
Before long, Reiz reached the entrance to Dodoria's spaceship.
A silver metal hatch bore the emblem of the Frieza Force.
Faint indicator lights blinked nearby, showing the ship's status.
"Creak—"
The spaceship's hatch opened automatically, revealing the passage inside.
Bright light spilled out, illuminating Reiz and the others at the entrance.
