"Swish!"
Burter accelerated instantly, overtaking Broly.
"Shoo!"
Broly flickered, overtaking Burter in turn.
Burter's face darkened as he pushed his speed even further, surging past Broly once more.
The two figures flickered through the air like streaks of light.
One moment Broly was in the lead, the next it was Burter.
They played this game for a while.
Broly grew happier the longer they played, his energy climbing steadily without him even realizing it.
From the initial tens of thousands, it rose to over a hundred thousand, then several hundred thousand.
By the time Broly pushed his energy to a terrifying height, Burter could only watch helplessly as Broly flew further and further away, unable to catch up.
That speed was so fast that Burter couldn't even see him clearly, leaving behind nothing but a golden trail of light.
To make matters worse, Broly turned around and deliberately made a face at Burter.
He stuck out his tongue and pulled an ugly expression, the meaning of which could not have been more obvious.
Come and catch me!
Burter was instantly exasperated, gritting his teeth as he gave chase, using every ounce of strength he possessed.
Yet, no matter how hard Burter tried, he could never catch up to Broly.
The distance between them did not shrink; instead, it grew wider and wider.
Broly was having a great time when he suddenly looked up and spotted two figures ahead.
It was Reiz and Linoshi.
Reiz held Linoshi's hand, the two of them hovering in the air as they watched the scene unfold.
With Reiz's sensory abilities, he had naturally sensed the arrival of the Ginyu Force the moment they appeared.
Those five powerful auras had intruded into his perception, as clear as beacons in the dark of night.
"Pa!"
Broly stopped immediately, no longer interested in playing with Burter.
He flew over to Reiz, grinning foolishly as he took out the Dragon Ball he was holding and handed it to him.
"Ball!" Broly said excitedly, his face full of pride as if asking for praise.
"You really found it?" Reiz was ecstatic, immediately taking the Dragon Ball and pretending to examine it.
It was a golden orb with two stars slowly rotating inside, emitting a soft glow.
"There are two stars in this one." Linoshi leaned in to look, then touched the one around her own neck. "Mine has one star, so they make a perfect pair!"
Reiz: "..."
Reiz was speechless for a moment.
How could a one and a two make a pair?
But since Linoshi had said so, Reiz didn't have the heart to contradict her.
"Should I tie a string to this Dragon Ball for you too?" Linoshi suggested, looking at him with expectant blue eyes.
"Sure." Reiz nodded, not objecting.
Linoshi lifted her right hand gently once more.
"Pa!"
With a flash of light, a red string appeared in her hand.
The string was thin and soft, emitting a faint red halo, identical to the one she had used before.
Then, Linoshi took the string and pressed it against the Dragon Ball.
The string sank into the orb with ease, passing through the center without meeting any resistance.
The hard surface of the sphere was like nothingness before the red string.
Soon, Linoshi had threaded the Dragon Ball onto the string and tied a beautiful bow at the ends.
The golden Dragon Ball swayed gently on the red string, looking exceptionally beautiful.
She looked up and gestured toward Reiz's neck.
"Do you want to wear it?" Linoshi asked shyly, her cheeks flushing slightly.
"Okay." Reiz nodded and leaned his head forward.
Linoshi stood on her tiptoes, reaching up gently to loop the string around Reiz's neck.
Her movements were light and soft, her fingers accidentally brushing against Reiz's skin, leaving behind a warm sensation.
She helped Reiz straighten his collar and adjusted the One-Star Dragon Ball so that it hung properly against his chest.
Then, she looked up into Reiz's eyes and whispered, "Everything will be alright... Reiz!"
As she spoke, faint Starlight shimmered in Linoshi's hands, quickly enveloping the Dragon Ball.
The Starlight was soft and warm; it flickered for a moment before vanishing entirely into the Dragon Ball.
"What was that?" Reiz was slightly startled, having sensed that trace of unusual energy fluctuation.
"N-nothing," Linoshi replied flusteredly, lowering her eyes as her fingers began to fidget with the hem of her Battle Suit.
Reiz looked at Linoshi with suspicion, feeling that she had something more to say.
"What did you mean by everything will be alright? Why would you say that?" Reiz asked, his gaze locked onto her blue eyes.
"Ah... I didn't mean anything else," Linoshi explained softly. "Frieza has sent people to chase us again, hasn't he? We will eventually shake off Frieza's pursuit, won't we?"
Reiz studied Linoshi earnestly.
Is that really what you meant?
Something feels off.
However, since Linoshi did not want to say, Reiz knew it would be difficult to get an answer out of her.
"Yes, everything will be alright!" Reiz nodded, following her lead.
As he spoke, Reiz gently gripped the Dragon Ball hanging around his neck.
He had seen it clearly: just now, Linoshi had injected some Angel Power into the Dragon Ball.
That energy was pure and potent; although it was only a sliver, it contained an indescribable power.
Why would this little angel inject so much Angel Power into the Dragon Ball?
"Did you just inject energy into it?" Reiz asked directly, his eyes fixed on Linoshi's face.
"Y-yes..." Linoshi nodded, her face flushing as she cast her blue eyes downward.
She then held the Dragon Ball from her own neck out toward Reiz, cupping it in both hands with the care one would show a precious treasure.
The One-Star Dragon Ball glowed with a soft golden light in the sun, the red cord threaded through it resting against her fair palms.
"Reiz, you should inject a bit of your energy into this one too... that way we..."
As she spoke, Linoshi's face grew even rosier, as red as the sunset clouds on the horizon.
She kept her head low, not daring to meet Reiz's gaze, her eyelashes fluttering and her fingers trembling slightly.
Reiz suddenly felt as if this were some sort of exchange of gifts.
Watching Linoshi's shy demeanor, a warmth welled up in his heart.
Without further hesitation, Reiz reached out a finger, tapped it gently against Linoshi's One-Star Dragon Ball, and channeled a small amount of energy into it.
A brilliant light flickered briefly as the energy sank into the Dragon Ball and disappeared.
As for whether Linoshi would try to harm him?
Reiz felt that the possibility was infinitesimal.
She was an angel, after all!
If she truly wanted to kill him, it would be easy enough to do so.
Why go through all this trouble?
"There, it's done." Reiz smiled gently.
"Mm." Linoshi nodded slightly, happily cradling the Dragon Ball in her hands and pressing it softly against her cheek.
She closed her eyes, savoring the lingering scent of Reiz on the Dragon Ball, the corners of her mouth curling into a satisfied smile.
Seeing Linoshi acting with the bashfulness of a young maiden, Reiz felt his heart nearly melt.
This little angel was truly adorable.
As for the matter of the wish...
