• Xia Yan joined Notting Academy, contracted a Datura Snake for his first Soul Ring, and clashed with Yu Xiaogang over his theories about martial soul mutations.
• Xia Yan used his Century Soul Ring to defeat Xiao Chenyu and the other students, then protected the Work-Study Students from further bullying.

Xia Yan returned to Shrek after taking the Blue Silver Emperor and its Spirit Bone, then joined the students on a Soul Ring hunt after Flender asked him to leave the academy. The expedition brought new Soul Rings, a Titan Giant Ape attack, and a secret reunion with Xiao Wu, while Tang Hao later discovered the withered replacement in Ah Yin’s cave.

• Tang San passed Zhao Wuji’s test, while Xia Yan secretly took the Blue Silver Emperor and the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone from a cave.
• Tang Hao beat Zhao Wuji and ordered him and Flender to protect Tang San and kill Xia Yan if he opposed Tang San or approached Xiao Wu.
• Xia Yan comforted Ning Rongrong, demonstrated his strength at the Suotuo Great Soul Arena, and agreed to leave Shrek after one final forest expedition.
• Xia Yan subdued a Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent for Oscar, and Tang San defeated Meng Yiran to secure Oscar’s claim to its Soul Ring.

He returned to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect as Tang San’s condition worsened under Tang Hao’s efforts to find a cure, and Ning Rongrong completed her herb absorption at level thirty.

• Xia Yan left Shrek Academy with Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, while Xiao Wu stayed behind and Tang San discovered his meridians were hardening and nearly blocked.
