Background

Creation and Alain Guillotin

Sandrone was created by Alain Guillotin through mechanical arts. The workbench in Alain’s secluded cottage was where both Sandrone and Pronia were “born,” and where Alain taught her machinery. 534

Alain regarded Sandrone as his proudest masterpiece. Sandrone later examined her own core and concluded that even her ability to imitate her exterior mechanisms and create Katherynes was only a superficial copy of Alain’s work. 522 After Alain’s death, Sandrone attended his funeral alone and remained at his grave after the other mourners departed. 389

Alain left behind a concealed inheritance for her, including a letter and a Multidimensional Solid Equation Core containing information intended for Sandrone and Pronia alone. 536 His preparations also included a hidden cottage equipped to survive Fontaine’s rising waters, preserving a blooming garden, personal manuscripts, toys, and the workbench of her creation. 534

Fatui years

During her time in the Fatui, Sandrone formed a close but abrasive friendship with Columbina. Their first interactions began with Columbina curiously following Sandrone to observe the clockwork on her back; Sandrone eventually installed a similar mechanism on Columbina so she could experience its discomfort herself. 162

Sandrone’s room later became an informal gathering place for Columbina, Arlecchino, and Rosalyne. Though she complained about uninvited guests, she still prepared tea and accepted their company. 390

Moon Hunter conflict

Sandrone deployed her mechanical legion against the Wild Hunt, expecting it to be worn down but using it to delay the enemy until the Moon Hunter appeared. Pronia confronted the Moon Hunter and was defeated, while the Moon Hunter ignored Sandrone after confirming Columbina was absent. 200

After the failed defense, Sandrone cleaned up the Experimental Design Bureau with assistance from Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. 206

Opposition to Dottore

Sandrone and Arlecchino suspected that Dottore’s apparent withdrawal from Nod-Krai concealed a larger plan. Sandrone recounted one incident in which Dottore’s careless high-temperature experiment released toxic smoke, leaving her to handle the consequences while he dismissed the event as a “waste of time.” 260

When Dottore threatened her subordinates at the Moon Marrow Experimental Design Bureau, Sandrone abandoned her confrontation with him to rescue them, contradicting his belief that she cared only for research. 295

World Formula and sacrifice

Sandrone’s research into the World Formula became the group’s primary means of countering Dottore and restoring Columbina. She detected four Moon Marrow fragments and refused to give up on Columbina’s survival. 339

During the final confrontation, Pronia was destroyed, leaving Sandrone without meaningful direct combat power. Sandrone and the Traveler were overwhelmed by Dottore; when he moved to kill the Traveler, Sandrone used her own body as a shield. 350 351

With the Traveler and Paimon as witnesses, Sandrone chose to confront the fallacy within her core as a “second birth.” 538 She ultimately affirmed that mechanical beings could live, hold tea parties, and cherish human-like habits because those experiences were what she genuinely liked. 539
