At noon, the students gathered outside Osborn Company after finishing their tour.

"Osborn Company was so boring. They kept introducing the company's history and all kinds of biological experiments—spiders, lizards, lab mice. Who even wanted to hear that?" one student complained, drawing nods of agreement from those around him.

"By the way, where's Teacher James? He stepped out earlier. Why isn't he back yet?"

"No idea..."

Listening to his classmates' conversation, Peter Parker shook his somewhat groggy head and quietly left the crowd, heading home.

"Name?"

"Bai Ye."

"Sex?"

"Male."

"Home address?"

At New York Police Headquarters, Bai Ye, now dressed in clean clothes, sat calmly in a chair as he faced the officer's questions.

The moment he killed those robbers, he had already prepared himself mentally. If they really sentenced him to a year or two for killing someone, then he figured New York had become far too urbanized and needed to return to the old days.

With his current ton-level strength, he might not be able to confront modern weaponry head-on, but breaking out of prison would be effortless. Then he could lie low and train for three to five years. Before Thanos even made his move ten years from now, Bai Ye would make sure New York's population dropped by more than fifty percent first.

Outside the interrogation room, Chief George, unaware of Bai Ye's intentions, flipped through Bai Ye's history.

His parents had been Chinese immigrants. They had gambled away everything they owned, and not long afterward, they had ended up dead on the streets. By the time their bodies were found, several organs were missing.

Bai Ye's record, on the other hand, was much cleaner. He had simply gone to school. Not long ago, he had spent a large sum on a gym membership, then began skipping classes frequently. The reason he had been caught up in today's bank robbery was precisely because he had skipped class.

According to the records, Bai Ye had no criminal history and appeared completely unproblematic. But anyone who thought about it for a moment would realize it made no sense. With no family to rely on, how had he survived these past few years? There was no record of any part-time work either.

"According to the records, you currently have no job. How did you obtain so much cash?" the officer asked inside the room.

"As everyone knows, I'm very handsome, so people send me money. That's reasonable, isn't it?" Bai Ye said. "Besides, this obviously has nothing to do with the robbery. I have every right to refuse to answer those questions."

The officer froze, looked up at Bai Ye, then silently lowered his head again. There was no way to argue with that.

Knock, knock, knock! Just as the officer prepared to continue questioning him, someone knocked on the tightly shut door, forcing him to pause his work.

When he opened the door, the officer saw Chief George standing outside, with a man behind him wearing sunglasses, leaning on a cane, and wrapped in bandages from his hands to his feet.

"Chief, who is he?" the officer asked.

Bai Ye was also surprised upon seeing the newcomer. Although the man had worn a mask back then, Bai Ye recognized him at once. Wasn't this Daredevil, the guy he had sent to the hospital a few days ago? He was equally confused about why the hell he had come here.

"This is Bai Ye's lawyer," Chief George explained. He could not understand why someone like Bai Ye, with such a miserable family situation, had a lawyer show up so soon after the incident.

And the lawyer looked far too miserable, as though he had just walked out of the hospital.

"My client was first a victim, and then acted in self-defense. You have absolutely no reason to keep my client detained at the police station," Matthew said righteously to Chief George.

Three hours later, Bai Ye and Matthew walked out of the police station. Although he had been released, as a deeply involved participant in the robbery, Bai Ye's movements were temporarily restricted to New York City.

And if there were any new developments in the case, he might still be summoned for further questioning.

"Why did you decide to come be my lawyer?" On the sidewalk, Bai Ye turned to look at Matthew beside him. "Shouldn't you have wanted to send me to prison?"

"Could prison hold you?" Matthew turned and asked. "Were we supposed to wait for you to break out and take revenge on society? Let society produce another criminal like Bullseye?"

"I've already looked into your family situation. I don't want to cultivate another criminal for society. Though you've already got one foot over the line, you can still turn back if you truly reform."

"I thought Super Heroes were all the type to wipe out evil completely. Didn't expect you to be so open-minded." Bai Ye smiled with both hands in his pockets.

"Consider it repayment for not killing me. Your physical abilities are excellent. Are you interested in becoming a Super Hero? I can teach you, just as my master taught me back then," Matthew said slowly.

He hoped that through personal guidance and example, he could set the teenager before him back on the right path.

"You? Teach me?" Bai Ye looked over Matthew's bandaged hands and feet. "Don't forget who sent you to the hospital."

"That was completely because you ambushed me while I wasn't prepared. Your attacks are nothing but brute force. With my skills, I can absolutely be your teacher. If we fought again, I wouldn't lose again," Matthew said seriously. If his injuries had not yet healed, he would have wanted to drag Bai Ye into another fight right then.

"Then why didn't your invincible skills help you notice my ambush?" Bai Ye curled his lip. Instead of spending time practicing techniques, he would rather work out and build muscle. One force could overcome ten techniques.

"That's enough. Thanks for coming all this way, injured, to be my lawyer today. You can go back now. I'll contact you if I have any legal issues." Bai Ye spoke indifferently, like a heartless woman who had squeezed every last bit of value out of a simp.

Amid Matthew's helpless expression, Bai Ye turned at the intersection without the slightest reluctance and headed toward the gym. As he walked, he took out his phone and found dozens of missed calls of all sizes waiting for him.

The callers included teachers, the principal, and various classmates he had known before.

As Bai Ye walked home, he scrolled through the numbers and picked out Teacher James's number to call back.

After ringing twice, the call was quickly answered. Teacher James's hesitant voice came through. "Bai Ye, are you... at the police station right now?"

"No. They just asked a few simple questions and let me out. I'm on my way home now," Bai Ye explained before continuing, "Teacher, you know things are a bit complicated right now, so I'd like to take a month off to recover at home."

Faced with Bai Ye's request, Teacher James's attitude was remarkably gentle, with none of his previous dissatisfaction. "A month? I don't have the authority for that, but I'll talk to the principal for you. For now, you just need to rest at home."

"Then thank you, Teacher." Bai Ye thanked him with satisfaction before hanging up.

Throughout the entire conversation, the teacher neither asked why Bai Ye had skipped class and gone to the bank nor mentioned Bai Ye killing anyone, as though he knew nothing at all. After all, being a teacher was just a job. The less he asked about this sort of thing, the better.

After turning off his phone, Bai Ye, whose bones had begun to itch from being idle for so long, ran toward the gym.
