After taking several turns in succession and crossing a steel bridge suspended and constructed by Magneto's powers, the group entered the laboratory built by the mutants.
The entire laboratory had been built inside the mountain. Upon arriving, Bai Ye looked over the highly futuristic device before him. "This is the Mutant Transformer you built?"
Magneto nodded gravely. "If what you said is correct, then this is merely a failed product."
"There's no need to become fat in one bite. Maybe you can try improving it next. Perhaps you'll be able to fix its flaws." Bai Ye said casually.
As they spoke, the door behind them slowly opened. Mystique pushed in a man whose entire body had been secured to a wheelchair.
The restrained man was a current United States senator. He had recently been promoting the Mutant Registration Act and held hostile views toward mutants, which was why Magneto had chosen to make an example of him.
Sabretooth and Toad followed behind Mystique. When Sabretooth saw the people beside Magneto, his heart sank. He said nothing and silently retreated to the side.
"What do you mutants want?" The man tightly bound to the wheelchair stared at Magneto and asked in panic.
"We just want you to cooperate with us in an experiment." Magneto smiled at Bai Ye. "The experiment is about to begin. Stand beside him and undergo it as well."
Bai Ye nodded and slowly walked toward the bound senator under Rogue's anxious gaze.
The senator's expression changed the instant he saw Bai Ye's face. He had clearly recognized him. "Y-You're a mutant too?"
