Chapter 13: There's Another Expert!?
"Xun'er, I'm heading out to take care of something."
Inside the private room, Xiao Ze suddenly set down his cup, stood up, and spoke to Xiao Xun'er.
"Mm-hmm, come back soon, Brother Xiao Ze. Otherwise, if Miss Ya Fei leaves before you return, you'll miss the main event."
Xiao Xun'er narrowed her eyes and smiled.
"I'll be back as soon as I can!"
Leaving those words behind, Xiao Ze exited the room, his right hand clutching a black gold-deposit card, intending to settle the bill first.
Watching the tightly shut door, Xiao Xun'er spoke up.
"Old Ling, what do you think Brother Xiao Ze went to do?"
From a corner of the room, a voice tinged with a smile drifted out.
"He likely went to settle the bill. Surely he isn't looking for a chance to have a romantic encounter with Miss Ya Fei?"
"Old Ling, what nonsense are you spouting!" Xiao Xun'er rolled her eyes at the corner where the voice originated.
"Hahaha, I was just talking nonsense. When Young Master Xiao Ze left just now, he was still feeling the deposit card in his pocket; he must have gone to pay."
Ling Ying's voice turned much more serious.
Xiao Xun'er nodded and said, "Brother Xiao Ze was afraid I would spend too much and intended to pay himself, but I had already settled the bill."
A while later, the door opened quietly.
Xiao Ze poked his head in, only to see Xiao Xun'er smiling lightly, holding the bill in her hand, which immediately drew a helpless smile from him.
"It seems you knew what I was going to do all along, Xun'er. You'd already paid."
Xiao Ze walked over to Xiao Xun'er and gently ruffled her hair.
"To actually deposit a black gold-deposit card at the counter and have them deduct whatever the meal cost—that's far too extravagant!"
"Hehe, Xun'er said she wanted to treat Brother Xiao Ze to a sumptuous feast, so of course I wouldn't be stingy."
Xiao Xun'er squinted slightly, enjoying Xiao Ze's touch.
"But Brother Xiao Ze, didn't we agree that I would be the one treating today?"
"That's right, you treat, and I pay. But my plans have fallen through."
Xiao Ze sat back down, looking somewhat helpless; he had truly been defeated by Xun'er's 'money power.'
"After all, this is our first date, and it's quite significant, so I wanted to be the one to pay."
"Alright, Brother Xiao Ze, don't worry about such trifles. A mere two thousand gold coins is something Xun'er can easily afford."
Xiao Xun'er grabbed Xiao Ze's hand and said earnestly.
"Besides, Brother Xiao Ze helped me master the Swallow Return Strike, saving me a great deal of time. Time is money, after all! By that logic, I've actually earned quite a few gold coins!"
"You girl, who calculates accounts like that?"
As the two chatted and laughed, they suddenly spotted a figure walking down the staircase.
"The show is starting!"
"Brother Xiao Ze, let's go!"
Seeing Ya Fei appear, the two stood up immediately, preparing to head downstairs, when Xiao Xun'er suddenly called out to Xiao Ze.
With a flick of her wrist, two black cloaks suddenly appeared in her hands.
Xiao Ze looked at the storage ring on Xiao Xun'er's finger with a hint of envy.
A spatial ring—what a rare treasure.
"Brother Xiao Ze, put on the cloak; it will make it easier to move about."
"Alright."
As the two walked along the corridor, the waiters they passed were unfazed; seeing such sights a dozen or twenty times a month was nothing out of the ordinary.
These cloaked figures might have various reasons for their attire: ugly appearances, being wanted criminals, or perhaps lovers on a secret tryst.
None of that concerned Shengde Restaurant.
As long as you came to the restaurant to eat, didn't cause trouble, and paid your bill honestly, the restaurant wouldn't pry.
In fact, in the shadows of Wutan City, restaurants even held a strange sense of competition regarding this.
If no one came to the restaurant to dine while hiding their identity under a cloak, then the restaurant clearly lacked appeal and business must be poor.
After all, if a restaurant had many such people, some might even be wanted criminals.
The fact that they were willing to risk exposure just to eat a meal at your establishment was proof of how attractive that restaurant was.
Of course, this came with many risks, and only powerful establishments were willing to host such guests.
After the two descended the stairs, Ya Fei had already walked out of the restaurant.
That short, stout Young Master Aoba was stealthily tailing behind Ya Fei.
Xiao Ze noticed that the short, stout Young Master Aoba actually had a Dou Practitioner as a bodyguard.
The two of them followed Young Master Aoba just like that; the young master, wearing a lecherous expression, led his bodyguard in pursuit of Ya Fei.
"That Young Master of the Aoba Clan is clearly suffering from excessive indulgence; he must have committed plenty of evil deeds in Wutan City."
"Yet, the heads of the Aoba Clan haven't stopped him; instead, they've assigned him more guards, further aiding his tyranny!"
Xiao Ze whispered to Xiao Xun'er.
Xiao Xun'er nodded in agreement. She seemed to have discovered something, so she leaned closer to Xiao Ze and said.
"Brother Xiao Ze, look at the path we're taking—isn't it getting more and more secluded?"
"It seems so. It looks like Miss Ya Fei intends to lead him to a deserted place to teach that Young Master Aoba a lesson."
"Hehe, that guy is just as Brother Xiao Ze said—blinded by lust. He didn't even realize such an obvious trap."
The two followed along the way, not the least bit worried about encountering any danger.
Xiao Xun'er had Elder Ling guarding her, and since Xiao Ze knew that Xiao Xun'er was protected by a Dou Emperor powerhouse, he was completely at ease.
In all of Wutan City, where could there be a safer place than by Xun'er's side?
Finally.
Arriving at a secluded alley, Young Master Aoba could no longer hold back. With a wicked grin, he said.
"Miss Ya Fei, what a coincidence! To run into each other in such a remote place—it must be fate. You might as well just give in to me."
In the alley, Ya Fei's expression remained calm, though a hint of disappointment flickered in her eyes.
She had originally expected this Young Master Aoba to be more patient and wait until they reached a completely deserted area before making his move.
"It's not a match made in heaven; I lured you here on purpose, Young Master Aoba."
Ya Fei said with a forced smile, her tone slightly cold.
Unfortunately, Young Master Aoba didn't catch the implication at all, and the wicked grin on his face grew even more brazen.
"Hehehe, so Miss Ya Fei likes me too? Then I won't stand on ceremony."
Young Master Aoba took unsteady steps as he lunged toward Ya Fei, the lechery in his eyes almost becoming tangible.
Ya Fei felt a wave of disgust; the man's gaze felt so visceral that it made her skin crawl!
Bang!
A sudden surge of Dou Qi erupted from behind, and Young Master Aoba whipped his head around.
He saw his own Dou Practitioner bodyguard already lying on the ground, his head covered in blood, his life status unknown.
Standing beside him was a fierce-looking young man with the emblem of the Mittal Auction House embroidered on his chest, which finally brought Young Master Aoba to his senses.
"No, no, no—you can't touch me! I am the young master of the Aoba Clan. If you touch me, my father will never let you off!"
Seeing the fierce young man approaching him, Aoba spoke with a trembling voice, trying to sound tough while failing to hide his fear.
Bang!
If even a Dou Practitioner was no match for this fierce youth and was killed in a single blow, what chance did a mere Dou Qi cultivator have?
Ya Fei, standing in the alley, also let out a sigh of relief.
Xiao Ze and Xiao Xun'er, who were hiding in the shadows, had just finished watching this good show and were planning to leave when the situation on the scene took a sharp turn.
"What is going on? Why did you kill him!"
Ya Fei suddenly frowned, questioning the fierce youth.
The short, stout Young Master Aoba's head had a massive indentation, and blood was continuously spilling out; there was no way he could have survived.
"Didn't I tell you that just teaching him a lesson would be enough!"
"Hehehe, that is what you told me. Unfortunately, I don't intend to do that, Miss Ya Fei."
The fierce youth let out a laugh and walked toward Ya Fei step by step, the ferocity on his face quickly replaced by lechery.
"I like you quite a lot too, Miss Ya Fei!"
Outside the alley, Xiao Ze and Xiao Xun'er exchanged a look, and Xiao Ze exclaimed in his heart.
"There's an even stronger expert!?"
