Great Tang City's East Railway Station bustled with activity, crowds streaming through like woven threads. From time to time, train whistles sounded. Amid hissing, the locomotives of arriving trains spewed white steam, releasing pressure from their boilers, while the tracks and platforms near the engines lay blanketed in white mist.
After daybreak, Great Tang City, including this railway station, had fully awakened and regained its vigorous vitality.
"Young Master Liu, take care!"
The train conductor, smiling broadly, escorted Zhang Tie to the exit of the sleeper carriage. Amid the conductor's deferential send-off, Zhang Tie, disguised as Young Master Liu, merely grunted, then swung his hands and stepped off the train, strolling leisurely out of the station.
Only after leaving the station and standing amid the crowd at its exit did Zhang Tie let out a long breath. Squinting, he surveyed the city.
The station exit had roads on two levels. Several steel overpasses crossed the upper road, resembling enormous centipedes. Once travelers left the station, if they wished to take a taxi, they only had to walk onto an overpass and descend its stairs to the rows of dedicated taxi stands. After waiting a moment, they could conveniently take a taxi away. Yellow-green taxis stood in lines longer than trains, divided into more than a dozen columns, orderly picking up and dropping off passengers departing the railway station.
The lower road served the city's underground rail system.
Everything on both levels was kept in perfect order.
